The End Result, Chapter 8 (Evian)

This story technically started when Evian shared that dance so where I'm sending them, well it would still be cold, but you know what?
Even if I try to be true to times and things, forget it, it's going to be very warm out, so everyone use their imagnation, LOL!

“This will be great sweetie.”

“But…” she said, with hesitation.

“Uh oh.” He said, sighing.

“Julian, I don’t want to go to New York City, I’ve changed my mind.”

“You have, you mean you don’t want to go away with me?”

“Yes I do, but not there, I want something….peaceful, relaxing, maybe Grand Bend?”

“Grand Bend, where is that?”

“On Lake Huron, Julian I was looking up different places on the internet and I found it. It’s in Ontario, Canada and it’s only about one thousand people and there’s a beach and…”

“A beach, that sounds really nice, honey, I think it would be great. You could relax, take it easy, I love the sound of Grand Bend.” Julian said.

“Great.”

“So it’s like a summer place really?”

“Yes, and there’s golf and…”

“Golf, well that sounds quite interesting.” He said looking at her.

“See, lots of things to do and according to what I read, they have a provincial park where you can camp.”

“Camping, oh Eve, you deserve a luxurious hotel, never mind sleeping on the ground like that.”

“I could handle that Julian, remember, I’m not Rebecca.”

“No heaven forbid, if she saw anything moving, she’d jump on me, oh perish the thought.” He said smiling.

“But seriously, I don’t need all those luxuries Julian, I know when we used to be together, it was very nice at the time, you spoiling me so and taking me places, I loved every minute of it. But I’ve also grown up and learned that I don’t need riches to make me happy.”

“Just the love of a good man?” he said, kissing her cheek.

“Yes of course.”

“Well, perhaps one day we could go camping.”

“You Julian?”

“Yes me, I know I’m not the camping type, but if you wanted to, I would for you Eve, I’d do anything for you sweetheart.”

“I know you would.”

“Did I tell you just how happy you’ve made me?”

“Yes.” Eve said.

“You really have, going away with me like this, how long do we have together?”

“Four days.”

“Oh wonderful, I can do a lot in four days.”

“Pardon?” Eve said, surprised.

“I mean we can see a lot of the sights.”

“Uh huh.” She said, smiling.

It wasn’t long before they arrived, they had chosen Oakwood Inn, which Eve had an idea would be nice, adding that it sat on a golf course.

“Do you have a reservation?” the clerk asked.

“No, I’m afraid, this trip is somewhat last minute.” Julian said.

“Well I’m sorry sir, but we’re all booked up.” He said, frowning.

“Oh you can’t be that full.” Julian said.

“You should have made a reservation, I have nothing available.”

Julian looked at Eve’s expression, which was of disappointment. He then leaned over to the clerk.

“Listen, this is really important to me and especially to my sweetie. You have to have a room.”

“But sir, I..”

The clerk stopped talking when Julian pulled out a wad of bills.

“You sure you have nothing available?” Julian said smirking.

“Um, let me see what I can do.” He said, typing into the computer.

“Julian, he doesn’t have anything?”

“Just a moment honey, I’m sure we can work something out.”

A few minutes later, he handed Julian the room card and they were on their way. When he opened the door, Eve smiled, as the bellman put the bags down.

“This is beautiful, it’s like a cottage, and I love this.” She said excitedly.

“With a fireplace and a Jacuzzi and a king sized…”

“Yes, I see that.” Eve said staring at Julian.

“You’re not worried are you Eve?” he said, putting his arms around her.

“I’m never worried Julian.”

“Are you telling me a fib?” he said, kissing her neck.

“Why should I be concerned about anything? I chose to come on this trip with you.”

“I’m so glad that you did my darling.”

Eve turned around to look at him and Julian kissed her quite tenderly.

“So what shall we do?” He said, his hands moving up and down her back.

“Um, let’s go out.”

“Now?” he asked.

“Yes Julian, I want to see Grand Bend and I can’t from inside our room now can I?”

“I suppose not.” He said, pretending to pout.

Eve took him by the hand and out into the warm sunshine.

“Let’s go for a walk.”

“To where?”

“The beach silly, I want to see what all the fuss is about.” Eve said.

“Oh okay, but dear, the clerk said it’s not exactly that close.”

“Julian, we don’t need limos or anything like that here now do we? I hope you have proper walking attire.” She said, kissing him on the cheek.

“I guess I’ll have to won’t I?”

“Yes.”

She dragged him by the hand, walking quite briskly. No wonder she was in such great shape in his eyes. He was in awe of her beauty, in every way, but had to admit he could hardly keep from wanting to march her back to their bed at that instant. He scanned over her body, a pair of Capri’s and a rather fitted top. But as much of a man as he was, Julian knew he had to let Eve get comfortable with him and the surroundings before hinting in any other way that he wanted to be with her. He did love her so much and it wasn’t just about the sex on this trip, even though he was Julian Crane. But a chance to love Eve and be away with her, from Harmony, from T.C., this was what he had only dreamed of.

“Julian, we should take a drive later on to that provincial park, so that if we do decide to camp there one day, then we’ll know what it’s like.”

He smiled at her; did she actually say the words one day? As if she really saw a future with him? This was quite the step for Eve and he wasn’t going to ruin it by making a comment. Just the idea of it though, him and Eve, together forever, he was happy that she seemed quite content there with him.

“How much farther is the beach?” he whined.

“Oh Julian, get over it.”

“I’m just teasing, I’m enjoying this walk with you.” He said, squeezing her hand.

“Wait!” she said, stopping.

“What is it?”

“We didn’t really eat anything, did we? I was in such a hurry to go.” Eve said.

“No kidding.”

“Anyway, how about Tim Horton’s then?”

“Alright, I’m not that hungry Eve, but what would you like?”

“A bagel.”

Julian brought it over to her, with two strong coffees, which Timmy’s was known for. If that didn’t put an extra step in their stride, nothing would.

“My God, this stuff is lethal.” Julian said, looking at Eve.

“Yes it is.”

“Coffee or motor oil is the question.” He said, taking a sip.

“Canadians must like their coffee strong.”

“Apparently, holy crap!” he said laughing.

When they were finished, Eve walked a step ahead of him, giving Julian a good look at her. When he whistled at her, she turned around and smiled, hitting him playfully on the arm.

“Must you do that.” Eve said, shaking her head.

“Must you be just as beautiful as you were so many years ago.” He said, putting his hand around her waist.
