Hold My Hand Chapter 3 Kase Chadresa
by LilAngelGirl
He hadn’t meant to go there, he had simply been driving around and he
just sort of ended up there. Not that anyone would ever believe that, he
frowned as he knocked on the door.
He heard the footsteps inside and as she opened the door he smiled.
"Hey." He said softly as she looked up at him.
"Why are you here?" She bluntly questioned him, her eyes dull now as
she spoke.
"I, I really don’t know." He sputtered. "I just wanted to see how you
were."
"I’m fine, so you can leave." She answered back.
"I just wanted to check on you, don’t be this way." He sighed.
She took a deep breath, "How are you holding up?" She whispered.
He shook his head. "Hardest thing I’ve ever faced, but I’m dealing."
"I’m truly sorry, I mean I never wanted anything like this to happen."
She began her anger slowly leaving.
"Charity honey, who’s at the door." Grace Bennett questioned as she
appeared next to Charity.
He frowned. "Hi Mrs. Bennett." He said waiting for the disgusted look
to come to her face, but it didn’t.
"Oh Miguel, why don’t you come in?" Grace smiled.
Miguel looked stunned for a moment. "Um, actually I have to go, I just
wanted to see how Charity was doing."
"Oh, you’re leaving already?" Grace questioned.
"Yeah." He said running his fingers through his hair. "I need to go
check on Kay, I didn’t mean to stay gone this long anyway." He frowned.
"I’m sure she’s worried."
"Yes, I bet she is." A gruff voice sounded from behind him. Miguel
turned around slowly.
"Sam, what are you doing here?" Grace asked with a smile.
"I came to find you." He told his wife then his eyes went to Miguel.
"Shouldn’t both of you be at the house with Kay?"
"That’s where I’m headed." Miguel said frowning. "I shouldn’t have
come here."
"No, you shouldn’t have." Charity frowned the anger once again showing
in her eyes.
Sam crossed his arms. "Who’s at home with my daughter?" He asked his
voice deep.
"Oh, I left her there with Jessica." Grace smiled. "I wanted to get
Charity all moved in here."
"I see." Sam frowned. "Miguel, does Kay know your here?"
"Well no." He sighed. "Chief Bennett I’m sorry, I’ll leave now."
Sam nodded his head at Miguel. "You do that, and tell Kay I’ll be home
soon."
"Yes sir." Miguel nodded quickly glancing back at Charity as he rushed
off, almost tripping down the stairs.
Sam turned back to Grace, "And I think you need to go home as well,
Kay is very fragile right now."
"I realize that Sam." Grace frowned. "But Charity really needed help."
"Aunt Grace, go home to Kay." Charity frowned.
"Are you sure dear?" Grace asked concerned.
"You heard her Grace, our daughter needs us right now, and we have
to be there for her."
Grace nodded her head. "Just give me a few minutes Sam, I promise I’ll
be home soon."
Sam looked at his wife. "I took the rest of the day off, Luis said
he could handle things. I’m very worried about Kay, she seems to be drifting
away from us Grace, please come home soon." He said then looked at Charity,
"I’ll have Jess come by tomorrow and help you, but I’m sure you understand
why I want Grace home today?"
Charity forced a smile. "Yes of course. Kay needs her mother right
now."
Sam gave Charity a warning look. "Yes and she also needs Miguel." With
that he walked away leaving Grace and Charity both with a huge frown on
their faces.

Kay smiled as she looked in the nursery. "Our baby is the prettiest
little girl in the world, isn’t she Miguel?" Kay asked looking up with
a smile.
The beaming father nodded. "Of course she it, she has your cute little
nose." He laughed.
"And your mouth, its just a smaller version of yours Miguel, isn’t
it sweet." Kay giggled.
"We’re going to be good parents Kay, and this little girl is going
to have so much love."
Kay nodded her head as Miguel kissed her forehead. She looked back
down at her baby but had to blink. "Miguel? Miguel? What happened to our
baby? She’s not in her bed. "
"Kay calm down!" Miguel told her.
"Calm down? My baby is gone! Where’s my baby?" She yelled.
Eve Russell suddenly appeared in front of her. "But you never had a
baby."
"What? Of course I did! She was right there!" Kay screamed.
"No, your baby is gone Kay." Eve said with a frown.
"But we can have another baby Kay." Miguel told her.
Kay shook her head tears in her eyes. "No, we can’t. I can never have
another baby."
"What?" Miguel asked confused.
"I can’t Miguel. I’m sorry."
He stepped away from her as Charity walked up to them. "But I can have
lots of babies Miguel." Charity grinned.
Miguel wrapped his arms around Charity and looked back at Kay. "No
baby, no me." He frowned turning to kiss Charity. "Besides she’s the one
I love anyway." He said as they walked off together."
"NO!" Kay yelled.
"No!" She screamed bolting off her bed. Sweating she felt the warm tears
in her eyes. "No, please no." She cried her eyes closed trying to see the
tiny infant again. "I want her back." She sobbed as he felt to large arms
wrap around her.
"It was a nightmare Kay." Reese’s voice soothed.
She opened her eyes and looked up at him, in the darkness of her room
she saw his face. "No. Its not a nightmare, its real Reese." She cried
the back of her head falling against his chest.
"Sweetie you were just dreaming."
"My baby, it was there, and she was so pretty." She cried. "And Miguel
was there with me, and then she disappeared."
"Its okay now."
"No." She said shaking her head.. "Miguel told me, we could have other
babies."
"It wasn’t real Kay." Reese told her again his voice soft.
"But I told him I couldn’t." She whispered. "And he left me for Charity."
She finished.
"Oh my Sweet Kay." Reese said moving her hair from her face. "Miguel
wouldn’t do that."
"I just want my baby. She had his mouth Reese, she was perfect."
Reese sat and held her, her tears staining her face as she cried loudly.
"I’m so sorry." He whispered.
"I need my baby Reese. Why did this happen? I did this! I killed my
baby." She suddenly yelled out.
"You didn’t! You did not do this Kay." Reese said his voice strong
and steady. "You listen to me, none of this is your fault, do you hear
me? You did not kill your baby! You love that baby Kay, you wanted her,
you didn’t do anything to her."
"I wrecked." She whimpered. "Miguel asked me not to drive in the rain,
and I didn’t listen."
"Kay, you didn’t know. You had no idea what was going to happen."
"But, he said not to drive. He was worried about me driving in the
rain."
"You’re a good driver, Kay listen to me, you didn’t do this." Reese
said his voice calming her.
She looked up at him her eyes red. "Then why does it feel like I did?"
"Because you want to blame someone, and you always blame yourself Kay.
" He took her face in his hands, as she looked up at him, her eyes scared
and lonely much like a lost child. "This isn’t your fault." He spoke slowly.
"You did not cause any of this Kay. You have got to understand and believe
that. It wasn’t your fault." He repeated.
She nodded her head slowly.
"Kay, are you okay? Jess said you were screaming!" Miguel’s voice suddenly
sounded in the room. He flipped on the light and looked at Kay. "Oh sweetie
are you okay?" He asked rushing to her.
Reese looked at him and felt a frown fall to his face. "She had a nightmare."
He said in a gruff voice. "She woke up scared."
Miguel looked over at Reese, who was still rocking Kay in his arms.
"Well thanks for taking care of her."
Reese swallowed the lump that had fell in his throat. "Where else would
I be?" He questioned watching as Kay moved away from him and over to Miguel,
his arms now taking her. "I should go downstairs." Reese said somehow,
"Tell the girls everything is okay."
"Where were you Miguel?" Kay whispered.
Reese watched as Miguel’s eyes darted to the floor. "I was driving
around he frowned.
Reese walked out of the room with a frown, if Miguel had been where
he suspected, then he was going to have to have a very long talk with his
best friend.
~*~*~*~*~*
Theresa stepped back and looked at her best friend. "Whitney, calm down."
She frowned.
"What did you say to him Theresa? Why was Chad so mad at me?" Whitney
questioned.
"Whit I have no idea what your talking about." Theresa frowned.
"You told Chad that I said you deserved to have Breanna took from you
didn’t you?" Whitney said raising her voice.
Theresa shook her head. "Whit, we were talking and I just said that
you told me that you had warned me what my lies could do, and I told him
I thought you were right, I did this to myself." She frowned.
"So you did tell him what I said?" Whitney questioned.
"Well yeah, I mean we were just talking." Theresa shrugged.
"Just talking? Theresa, you told Chad something that I said to you,
and only you." Whitney said frowning.
"I didn’t realize that Whit. Look maybe I was upset with you, I mean
you made it sound as if loosing Bre was a reap what you sow kind of deal
and I don’t see it that way." Theresa defended.
"I don’t think you deserve what Ethan did Theresa and I think the judge
was wrong to only give you weekends, but I do think the things you did
before you had Breanna were part of the reason the judge gave her to Ethan."
Whitney explained shaking her head.
Luis suddenly stood up from the sofa. "I think I’m going to get out
of here now." He sighed. "Sam wanted to spend the day with Kay, so I’m
suppose to be taking care of things at the station."
Theresa frowned. "Call you later okay?"
Luis kissed his sister on the cheek. "Yeah, hey you two work things
out, will you?"
"Talk to you later Luis." Theresa said as her brother walked out of
the door. Turning to look at her best friend she frowned. "I made mistakes,
I admit that Whitney, I did a lot of lying, and yes I even tried to become
Mrs. Julian Crane. I understand that I look like this horrible person to
a lot of people, but I’m a good mother and I love my baby girl. All I wanted
was to work something out with Ethan, I wanted us to have an equal roll
in Breanna’s life and he took that away from me. " Frowning she looked
at Whitney. "But you’re wrong when you say the judge looked at the things
I did, that Judge, he gave Breanna to Ethan for two reasons Whitney, the
first being that he’s been having a little fling with Rebecca and the other
being the Crane name, Ivy used the Crane name and that’s what helped Ethan
take our child like he did."
"Think what you want Theresa, all I’m saying is, from now on when we
talk, don’t go running to Chad with it. He ran out on me and now I’m going
to have to fix this mess."
"Chad is my friend Whitney, and I talk to him, I didn’t realize everything
we say to each other has to be some big secret. If it helps matters I’ll
talk to Chad myself." Theresa said forcing a smile.
"No Theresa, I don’t want you talking to Chad about this, if he knows
I came here mad at you its only going to make matters worse."
"I still don’t think I did anything wrong." Theresa frowned.
"You never think you do wrong Theresa, that’s part of your problem."
Whitney muttered under her breath.
Theresa quickly turned her head toward Whitney, "What did you say?"
She asked crossing her arms.
"Nothing." Whitney sighed. "Just forget it."
"No." Theresa said with a huff. "See that’s Your problem Whitney, you
always want people to forget the things you do or say, but you have no
problem bringing up the bad everyone else does. " Slinging her hair out
of her face she stared Whitney in the eyes. "I already told you I made
a lot of wrong choices, but you Whit, you never do wrong do you?" She asked
her voice defensive.
Whitney’s hands fell to her hips. "I’ve never did any of the things
you do Theresa." Her voice rung out anger in her eyes.
"No, you just lead poor Chad along making him wonder how you feel right?
But of course you blame that on your parents, I mean its not like your
grown or anything." Theresa shot back watching as Whitney’s face turned
a shade of red.
"I so can’t believe you just said that." Whitney yelled out moving
toward the door.
"Why not? Come on Whit, we always talk about the things I do wrong,
lets talk about your faults for awhile, I know I can name a few right off
the bat." Theresa said arching her eyebrows, a very angry grin falling
on her face.
"I don’t have to take this." Whitney said rolling her eyes, her voice
almost screeching. "I’m going home!" She yelled slamming open Theresa’s
door as she left the apartment in a mad furry.
Theresa let out a huge groan. "Can my life get any worse?" She yelled
to no one. Grabbing her key’s she opened her door. "I can’t loose everything."
She mumbled. "I just can’t." Rushing outside she felt the wind hit her
in the face as a voice called out her name.
"Theresa where you going girl?" Chad said grabbing her from behind
and turning her around.
Theresa frowned. "Chad."
"Did I just see Whit leave out of here like the place was on fire?"
He questioned his eyes staring down at her as a frown dropped to his face.
"Yeah that was Whitney." Theresa grumbled.
Chad crossed his arms with a heavy sigh he looked at Theresa. "So you
wanta tell me what’s going on here? Or should I go ask Whitney instead."
Theresa lowered her head. "Does it really matter what I say happened?
I’m the town liar remember?"
