The Imposter II (an alternate version), Chapter 13 (Evian)
by ejcrane
Never bothering going back to the mansion, Julian left that same day,
and this time, he took the Crane jet. He just wanted to get far away from
Harmony and as fast as he could. Today had been the worst day of his life.
The only woman he had ever truly loved hated him, and to make matters worse…she
lost their child. The child he was going to love, devote his whole life
to…the child he was going to cherish, because it was a part of him and a
part of Eve Crane.
But now, that was part of his past, and his future lied in Paris, with
his fiancée he had not thought about for most of his stay in the states.
Should he tell Gianna everything? Or was it a better idea to keep mum…
Would she find out? No, no, how could she? If he never told her, Eve would
not either, considering how she just confessed that she never wanted to see
him again…
But, would the press look into it, and find out their short “love” story?
Would it come out by accident?
The truth had to be told! But WHEN?!
The wedding…there was the wedding…
Before or after? Would she be upset or would she be understanding?
Oh, God, how did he get into this predicament?
Julian sighed and stared at the ceiling of the jet cabin. He blinked his
eyes closed and her face was the first thing he saw…
She was happy; was excited to see him and smiling, but then it all changed…
Eve’s face transformed into one of anger, hurt…disgust. She was crying
and there was nothing that he could do about it. She wouldn’t allow him to
get near her.
“Eve…” he sucked in a breath and sighed, “If you could have just understood…”
he opened his eyes, “And our little one…would it have been a boy or a little
girl…”
Exiting the garage at the hospital, Eve switched on the radio to get her
mind off of what had just happened hours before…
[Brandy] Excuse me, can I please talk to you for a minute
[Monica] Uh huh, sure, you know you look kinda familiar
[Brandy] Yeah, you do too but, hmm
I just wanted to know do you know
somebody named you
you know his name
[Monica] Oh, yeah definitely, I know his name
[Brandy] I just wanted to let you know, he's mine
[Monica] Uh, no, no he's mine…
Eve rolled her eyes when she heard the intro of the song and decided to
ignore it…
I think that you should realize
And try to understand, why
He is a part of my life
I know it's killing you inside…
Did he really leave? Was he really going back to…her?
You need to give it up
Had about enough
It's not hard to see
The boy is mine
I'm sorry that you
Seem to be confused
He belongs to me
The boy is mine…
Frustrated with Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine”, Eve changed the
station in her car…
…I tried to go on like I never knew you
I’m awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I’m going to be is incomplete…
Eve then just decided to turn the whole radio off after hearing Backstreet
Boys’ “Incomplete”.
Ten minutes later, FINALLY she was home…
“Where’s Daddy?” Simone lifted her head and asked her mother after she
hugged her.
“Honey?” Eve knelt, “There’s something you need to know…” she exhaled,
“…that man, he…he wasn’t your father; he just looked like him and was playing
a trick on us…”
“NO! No, you’re lying…I don’t believe you!” Simone began crying and pulled
from her mother’s embrace and ran up the stairs where she locked herself
up in her room.
Eve walked slowly up the stairs; she was to take it easy for the next
few days, after the almost mishap that afternoon.
“Eve?”
“Yes, Pilar? If it’s about Julian, I don’t want to hear about it…he’s
gone and for good, okay?” she said and walked around her, exiting Simone’s
room.
“Well, you ARE going to hear it,” Pilar said firmly and followed after
Eve.
“FINE, what is it?!” she opened up the door to their…HER room.
“Well…are you going to tell him?” Pilar raised a brow.
“Tell him? Tell who what?!”
“Tell Julian that you are still pregnant?”
“How did you know…”
“Well, your doctor called just a few minutes ago, while you were with
Simone. She said that you need some bed rest, considering how you ALMOST
had a miscarriage today, and WERE supposed to be admitted into the hospital
for at least a day…”
She took a breath and continued…
“…AND, I know that Julian would never have left IF he knew…he loves you…”
“Oh that’s BULLSH*T! He doesn’t know what love is…” Eve shouted and turned
her back on Pilar.
What Pilar didn’t know was that Eve had started crying.
“…and I think you knew that he loved you, that is why you are so hurt…you
wonder if he would’ve kept up this charade if Julien would have came back
for good; you know, he almost did…Saturday.”
Eve stopped crying and remembered that day. He was different that day…it
was HIM! JULIEN! Julian would’ve never treated her that way…
Julian…
She then turned to face Pilar, but she had left, and now Eve was all alone
in her…their room. She walked to the bed and gently laid on his side and
inhaled his scent from his pillow. God, she missed him so…
Missed his arms, kisses…caresses.
Julian…
NO! He was a liar! He never loved her; she was just part of his and his
brother’s game…
“You love me, don’t you…I know you do,” Julian whispered onto her lips
as he laid between her legs, “Say it!”
“Yes…yes, I do…I love you, Julian…Juli-AN…”
“Eve…” he sighed and caressed her lips with his thumb just before his
lips crushed down onto hers, “I came back for you…for you, my love…”
“Oh, Julian, I couldn’t breathe…I couldn’t think…without you,” she cried
into his neck as he nibbled at hers, “Don’t leave me…don’t ever leave me…”
“Never,” he whispered, looking her straight in the eye, “Never, my darling
Eve…”
“Mommy!”
“Well, look who it is…our little one…” Julian smiled and rolled off Eve
so that he was looking to the side of the bed…
Eve closed her eyes and smiled…
“Mommy! Are you asleep?” Simone shook her mother.
It was the middle of the night, and Simone just couldn’t sleep, knowing
that her “daddy” wasn’t there with them anymore…
“Simone?” Eve said groggily, “Baby, what are you doing up?”
“Mommy? Why were you saying ‘don’t leave me’? Who was leaving you, mommy?”
“Hmm? No one sweetie…no one,” she picked up her daughter and laid her
beside her, and her mind played back that dream.
