The Imposter II (an alternate version); Chapter 18 (Evian)
by ejcrane
She entered his room quietly, and shut the door softly…locking it.
Eve then walked over to the side of the bed and watched as he slept on
his back. His breath was slow and even.
Reaching for the tie at the front of her robe, Eve undid it and allowed
the satin garment to fall to the floor.
Slipping under the covers ever so slightly, Eve smiled as her hand came
into contact with Julian’s manhood. Her smile widened as her fingers wrapped
around him.
“What the…” Julian stirred and lifted his head, “Eve…” he gulped, “…what
are you doing in…” his head fell back as he forgot the rest of his sentence.
By the time he realized that it was Eve who was stroking him, it was too
late; she had already directed him into her, and was now riding him very
slowly.
“E-e-eeeeeeve…” he swallowed as he clinched his teeth together from the
pleasure she ignited within him.
His hands grabbed onto the blanket beneath him. He swallowed and pounded
his fists on the mattress.
“Ahhh…” he groaned after he grabbed her thighs and squeezed them.
Eve soon stopped her movements and looked down at him. He stared up at
her in confusion.
“Touch me.” She simply said.
Julian reached up and cupped her breasts with his hands.
“Yes, mm-hmm…” she moaned out before she began moving again.
Just as he was about to run his thumbs over her aroused nipples, Julian
woke and heard Eve’s voice outside his door…along with Chad’s. Chad had
just told Eve that Julian was in the other room, and then he told her “goodnight”.
Julian could hear his footsteps treading down the hall. He then heard the
door to the room across the hall shut. That was his and Eve’s room…
She had gone to bed…
They had gone to bed without each other…
Why did she have to lie to him? If she hadn’t…he, she, THEY would’ve been
sharing the same room…making love.
---
“Julian?” she said, surprised, and sat up in their bed.
She was more than surprised when he walked over to the end of the bed
and yanked the covers up and off of her body. She then let out a gasp when
Julian yanked her down to the edge of the bed by pulling on her ankles.
He bent down and rubbed his face against her abdomen, where their little
one slept. After placing a kiss about her navel, Julian climbed on top of
her. His hands slipped under her gown and began kneading her breasts until
he felt them peak beneath his palms.
“Darling?” he whispered before his mouth drew in her right breast, “I
forgive you…” he mumbled as his tongue rolled over the sensitive tip.
Oh, the way he was touching her through her lavender silk gown; the way
he was making love to her breasts with his hot, wet mouth…the way his lips
wrapped around her nipple and gently tugged…suckling with such experience.
“Ohh, Julian…” she cried out, “Julian!” Eve sat up in bed, drenched with
sweat, panting away.
Looking around the darkened room, she found herself alone.
It was just a dream…simply a dream, she thought as she laid back down
on her pillow.
Julian…will you ever forgive me? She sighed and drifted off to sleep…
---
The kids looked up, as well as Pilar, from the breakfast table when Eve
made her way into the dinning room. Julian just happened to peek around
his newspaper.
The two never greeted each other, nor said a word to each other…
“Well,” Julian pushed his chair back and stood, shoving a piece of toast
into his mouth as he dropped loose papers into his briefcase, “I better be
going,” he glanced at her once again, but he could tell that she was lost
in her own world, so he smiled to the kids and Pilar and was off.
Eve glanced down and then looked up and watched her new husband leave
to work…
He was still upset with her. Was this how it was always going to be? She
had always thought that the minute she and Julian would become husband and
wife...they'd live ‘happily ever after’. But that didn't seem to be true...
---
His mind strayed to the woman he left back in America…
Eve.
She was pregnant with their child, and he loved her for that. Loved her
for everything she was, for every way she made him feel…and she was giving
him a child…until his lies and deceit came out and caused her to lose their
innocent child.
“You damn idiot!” Julian hissed at his own reflection as he tied his bowtie.
He sighed when he finished and was making last minute adjustments to his
tuxedo.
“Gianna, I hope to make you happy…” he said aloud just as he exited his
room.
---
Standing at the altar, watching as the flower girl and ring bearer had
made their way to the front, Julian swallowed as he realized that it was
getting closer…closer to becoming this woman’s husband. The bride’s maids
soon made their way to the altar and that’s when everyone turned towards
the back and stood. Johann Pachebel’s “Canon in D” began playing and that’s
when Gianna and her father began marching…
Julian smiled; he smiled as he pictured Eve walking down that aisle.
Their hands met each other and the two stared into each other’s eyes as
they stood in front of the other.
‘Eve’ smiled at him and he realized that he had never felt this way before
in his life…
…so happy…so…
Julian reached out and caressed her cheek…
Gianna smiled and closed her eyes as she felt his hand upon her face.
Never had Julian looked at her this way…why now? Did he realize how he never
really loved that “Eve”, and that he really loved her?
“Eve…” Julian whispered and tilted her chin up.
“Wh—what did you call me?” Gianna replied sadly.
He then blinked and realized that it hadn’t been Eve…it was his fiancée,
Gianna.
“Gi…I…” he attempted to say, “I’m so sorry…I…”
“Was thinking about her?” she looked down.
“Yes…”
“Do you love her, Julian? Please…just tell me the truth. Is she the one
you want to be with?”
He swallowed, licked his lips, then nodded. Julian then closed his eyes
and readied himself for the slap he was sure to receive from Gianna, but
when nothing happened…he slowly opened his eyes to find her smiling at him.
“I’m happy for you, Julian…I really am,” her hands caressed his as she
held onto them.
“Y—you are?”
“I was a bit…jealous when I had seen you with her, but there’s something
I never told you…either…”
“Huh?” he blinked.
“While you were away…Pierre and I…were working together more…and we…we
began having feelings for one another…” she paused to see his reaction and
then continued, “…I ended it when you came back, and then we went back to
Harmony for your brother’s funeral…and I’ve tried to ignore those feelings
that are still there, but I’ve realized that I can’t, I can’t lie to you
or marry you…” she shook her head, “And you can’t marry me; not when you’re
in love with another woman,” she smiled.
Smiling back at this amazing woman who stood before him, Julian reached
out and pulled her into a kiss…
“I love you, you know that, right?” he pulled her into an embrace and
whispered into her ear, “I want and hope you and Pierre are very happy together…he
is a very lucky man…”
“And Eve is a very lucky woman…” she giggled, “Thank you, Julian…”
“No…” he pulled from her and looked into her eyes, “Thank you, dear…”
“So, is the wedding on or off?” the reverend questioned.
“OFF!” both Julian and Gianna replied simultaneously and laughed.
The guests gasped, but soon recovered once Julian announced that the reception
was still on and everyone was welcomed to the free food. Once they heard
that…the “break-up” wasn’t anything to weep over…
