Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of Passions that right belongs to James E. Reilly. However I do own the rights of the characters that I made up in this story.
Also I would to say that the idea of this story came from this Japanese Anime (cartoons) movie I saw called Macross Plus.

Author note: I just realized I had an error in my story. The name of the company that Julian is CEO of should be the Donaldson Division not Davidson Division...::sighs:: Anyways, back to the story :)

Eve had just finished probably the longest surgery she ever had before. She was tired and she just wanted to go home and get some rest, but as she was heading to her office, a colleague of hers called out to her.

“Eve!” the voice said. Eve turned around and came face to face with her friend Aaron.

“Hey Aaron, what’s up?” she smiled.

“Well I got these two tickets to go the Blue Note review and I was wondering if you’d like to go with me.” Aaron said.

“I don’t know…” Eve trailed off.

“C’mon, it’ll be fun, besides you need to get out and find a man. Sh*t, I need a man.” Aaron scoffed.

Eve smiled at Aaron after he said that. She and Aaron went to medical school together and hit it off quickly. She didn’t even have a problem with him being gay either, in her eyes he was person just like everyone else. Then she started thinking… ‘I really haven’t been out since I started working here… He’s right I do need to get out.’ Eve sighed.

“Sure I’d love too.”

“Great. I’ll pick you up at seven.”

“Good. That’ll give me enough time to get ready and get a few hours of sleep.”

“I gotta run. I’ll see you later.” Aaron said then gave Eve a hug and went on his way.

Julian was in his office today looking over some important files and reports that needed his clearance. Since that day with TC at the park, the only thing he could think of doing was work. Work this, work that…work, work and more work. He sighed as he placed the papers down, took off his glasses and rested his hand on his forehead. He must’ve been really out of it because he just noticed that someone was knocking on his door.

“Come in.” he called.

Ivy and Daniel walked in and approached his desk.

“So what is it guys?” Julian asked.

“We were wondering if you had any plans for tonight?” Daniel asked.

“No, not that I know of. Why?”

“We want you to come with us to the Blue Note review tonight.” Ivy answered.

“I’m not really into the jazz thing anymore.” Julian said.

“C’mon… for us please?” Ivy begged and batted her eyes at him like a child.

Julian looked at her then rolled his eyes and sighed.

“Alright. Yeah I’ll go.”

“Thank you so much. We’ll come by and pick you up at seven-fifteen.”

“I’ll be waiting.” Julian smirked that them, then went back to looking over those papers as they left his office.

At seven-fifteen on the dot, Ivy and Daniel came and picked Julian up, then headed to the jazz club. Julian sat in the back seat of the Daniel’s car, looking out the window completely zoning out Ivy and Daniel’s voice. When he was a teenager, he loved jazz music so much. He loved how it sounded and just the way he felt when he listened to it. But the real reason he loved it so much was because of the beautiful singing voice of Eve. She had the most gorgeous singing voice he ever heard, but that was in the past and this was now. Since then, jazz was never the same to him again.

Aaron picked Eve up as promised and the two of them went on their way. They arrived at the club ten minutes later, and headed inside to find a table. Eve looked around the club and noticed how enchanting the aura of the room was making her feel. She loved feeling like this. A few minutes later, a waiter came up to their table and asked for their order. After ordering their drinks, the two of them looked to the stage and watched as the band started playing.

Julian, Ivy and Daniel had just arrived in time for the first act as they headed over to find a table to sit at. It was as they were sitting down that Julian caught a glimpse of Eve out the corner of his eye. He watched as she moved to the flow of the music playing and how happy she looked. He wanted so badly to go up to her and pull her close to his body as he kissed her beautiful lips, but he couldn’t and then this instant shot of pain pierced his heart, so he looked away.

As Eve was moving to the sound of the music, she suddenly felt a pair of eyes watching her. She looked around for a bit, to see if she knew anybody but she didn’t. She then placed her hand on Aaron and whispered in his ear.

“I’ll be right back. I need to use the restroom.”

Aaron nodded his head as he continued to listen to the music. Eve then got up and headed to the restroom in the back. Julian watched as Eve got up, so he excused himself and followed her.

Eve finished doing her business then walked over to the sink and washed her hands. She then grabbed some paper towel and dried her hands before opening the door and walking out. As soon as she was out the door, she looked up found Julian.

“Julian, what are you doing here?”

“I’m here with two friends of mine. What about you?”

“I’m here with a friend also.” She said and looked him in the eyes.

Silence-

“Eve I just…”

“Julian don’t…” Eve whispered and turned her head.

“Why not?” he said as he stepped closer to her.

“Because I can’t talk about it. It hurts too much.” She said as a few tears fell from her eyes.

Julian raised his hand up and touched her face, then used his thumb to wipe away her tears. He then turned her head around to face his and used his other arm to pull her close to his body. Eve tensed up a bit, then relaxed in his arms as he moved his hand around on her back in a circular motion. She then looked up into his eyes and his eyes narrowed in on hers before lowering his head to capture her lips in a soft and passionate kiss.

Eve moved one of her hands up to his face and the other his chest. She didn’t realize it until this moment, how much she missed the feel of his lips on hers as he nibbled on her bottom lip for entrance and she obliged as she felt his tongue collide with hers. The feelings that he was invoking in her right this minute was driving her crazy, and she couldn’t stop them from taking her over.

As she continued to enjoy his kiss, voices in her head started saying things to her. ‘Eve what are you doing?! You know you shouldn’t be doing this with him right now, you’re not ready yet.’ A frown appeared on her face as she tried to block out the voices in her head. But then it happened… ‘You haven’t accepted what happened to you back then and neither has he, don’t do this to yourself.’ When she heard that, she gasped and pulled back away from him.

“Eve, what’s going on?” Julian asked in a worried voice. He didn’t know what the hell just happened.

“I can’t Julian, I can’t…” Eve nearly sobbed out.

“Don’t do this Eve, please?” Julian said with hurt in his voice as he tried to reach out for her again.

“I’m sorry…” Eve choked out then ran pass him and out of the club into the dark streets.

The next day, Aaron met up with Eve at work and wanted to know what happened last night, but she it was nothing. After she finished her rounds, she went back to her office and started on her paperwork. About ten minutes later her phone rang.

“Harmony General, Dr. Johnson speaking.”

“Eve, it’s good to hear your voice again.”

“Grace, is that you?”

“The one and only.” Grace answered.

“It’s so good to hear from you.” Eve smiled.

“You too Eve. Listen, I wonder if you could meet me at this bar, south of Harmony. We have some catching up to do.”

“You’re right. Sure I’ll be there. I’m off in fifteen minutes.”

“Good, you can’t miss this bar. It’s the only there.” Grace laughed.

“See you soon Grace.”

“Later.” Grace said.

Meanwhile, as Eve talked to Grace of the phone, one of her colleagues was standing outside of her office door. Their eyes were full of disgust and hate. They hated the fact that Eve got chose over them and they hated the fact that Eve was the only one getting the attention. All she got was praise from the other doctors around. That was now, but later on they would be on top and Eve would be a thing of the past.

Thirty minutes later, Eve was just pulling outside of the bar when she spotted Grace pulling up right next to her. Getting out of her car, she walked over to Grace and gave her a big hug.

“Look at you Eve. You haven’t changed a bit since high school.” Grace stated.

“You look great Grace.”

“C’mon, let’s something to drink.” Grace said as she took Eve by the hand and pulled her into the bar. Finding a table good enough for the two of them, a waiter came up to serve them and Grace asked for a pitcher of beer.

“So Eve, how is it being the new head doctor of Harmony General?”

“It’s weird in a way. So much responsibility is put on my shoulders and failure is not an option. I want to be the best doctor I can be. That’s my dream now.” Eve said. The waiter arrived with their pitcher of beer and Grace poured herself and Eve glasses. “You really haven’t changed at all Grace.”

“Well I have to keep on my toes you know, I am the mother of two.” Grace said then took a big gulp of her beer.

“Are you serious?” Eve smiled.

“Yeah guess who I’m married too?” TC, Sam or Julian?”

“Sam.”

“Damn it Eve, you’re no fun at all.” Grace laughed.

“I ran into the other two quite by accident.”

“Really?”

Eve nodded.

“Neither of them has very much. TC is the number one ranked tennis player in the world and Julian is the CEO of the Donaldson Division of Thompson Corp.”

“I see.”

Eve looked up when she saw a man carrying two kids on his shoulders.

“Sam.” Eve shouted.

“Hey there Eve.” Sam smiled back.

“Why didn’t you leave them with my mother?” Grace asked.

“I would’ve but she was having a garage sell and I didn’t want her to accidentally sell the children.”

Eve nearly spit out her beer when she heard that. After she regained her composure, she just sat there and watched how Grace, Sam and their children interacted. She then started reminiscing about her childhood as well, but the memories of her childhood were very painful. She must’ve been really out of it because when she looked up, she was at their home and Grace was singing.

After Grace finished singing, she asked Eve to sing that song she sang back in high school. When Eve didn’t response, Sam tried to get her to sing too but this time she snapped.

“That’s enough!” Eve snapped. Then she looked at the shunned faces of her friends and their children. “I quit singing a long time ago, besides I don’t even remember that song.” Eve said as she looked down at her cup of beer.

Grace noticed how uncomfortable Eve looked and must’ve felt, so she decided to invite TC and Julian over. Maybe…just maybe, they could cheer her up.
