Back in Time,  Chapter 9
by ejcrane

That night, Julian went to bed staring at the ceiling in his room. He had to get Eve alone to talk to her. He had to find out just what was going on with TC…what was going on in this new reality.

The next day Julian woke up that evening. He yawned and looked over to his clock on his nightstand. It read six twenty-five. Outside it still appeared to be dark, so, Julian thought nothing of it; just thought the sun hadn’t risen yet.

Before brushing his teeth, he decided to go downstairs, so he slipped on his robe and left his room. Treading down the stairs, Julian could hear people talking in the living area. Who could possibly be there at the mansion this early?

Rubbing his eyes as he took the last steps, Julian turned to the right and walked in on the little party guests he and Ivy were supposed to have over that evening, which, he didn’t really know about.

Eve turned towards the front foyer and gasped as she saw Julian in his robe…his robe that was left untied, and his…his bare chest and boxers. Her eyes never left his body…

TC noticed Eve’s attention was elsewhere when he asked…

“Baby, is everything okay?” he asked when he heard her labored breathing.

She finally shook out of her daze and nodded to him.

TC then turned and saw Julian come in. He rolled his eyes and sighed.

“Julian,” Ivy said, “You could’ve dressed for Ethan and Samantha’s engagement party…” she said dully, “Did you just wake up?”

“Ye-yes…what are you all doing here so early? It’s six-thirty in the morning.”

Everyone looked at one another and laughed…well, everyone except Eve. She didn’t know why, but she suddenly couldn’t stop thinking about Julian…and their past together.

“Julian, dear, it’s six-thirty in the evening,” Ivy laughed and shook her head, “I just can’t believe that you’ve slept all day yesterday and today…are you okay?” her voice turned to concern.

“I’m, I’m quite fine, thank you very much,” he glanced over to Eve, who he just happened to catch peeking again at his lower half…

Samantha noticed the look between her parents and wondered what was going on. Never had she seen them give each other looks that lasted more than a second.

“Well, Gw…Samantha, it’s nice to see you again, dear,” Julian smiled and walked to her and hugged her.

She wrapped her arms around her father hesitantly.

“Likewise,” she finally said as Julian pulled away.

“Well, I’ll be back, I just need to go upstairs and shower. I’ll be right back…” and Julian turned and left back upstairs.

Fifteen minutes later, Ivy found her way to Eve, who was viewing some portraits of Julian and Ivy and their family. If things would have gone her way, that would have been her with him and their family…

No! God, what was she thinking? She was very happy being where she was. Being married to TC and having their two beautiful girls…

“Well, hello, Eve…” Ivy interrupted Eve’s thoughts, “Thinking this could’ve been you, huh?” she chuckled.

Eve just looked at Ivy and set the frame down.

“Well, just thank God, it wasn’t you, Eve,” Ivy raised a brow, “You and Julian would’ve probably have been what we are today,” she shrugged, “Unhappily ever after…”

“Ivy, where is the lady’s room?” Eve finally said.

“Well, there is one down that way…but…” she said just as Eve began to walk away from her, “It’s not working at the moment, but you can use the one upstairs…first door on your left,” Ivy smiled.

“Thank you,” Eve simply said and left.

Upstairs, Eve suddenly couldn’t remember if Ivy said first room on the left or the right. She chose the right and walked in on…

“Julian…” she swallowed.

Julian had just walked to his bed with his clothes in one hand and then set them down. And just as Eve walked in, he had just slipped his bathrobe off his shoulders and was now completely nude.

“Eve?” he smiled, “Is there something I can do for you?”

“Uh,” her eyes traveled up from his manhood to his eyes, “No,” she whispered.

She was just about to step backwards, out of his room when he rushed to her and pulled her back in, pinning her up against the wall.

“Julian, no!”

“Eve, what is going on here? How is Gwen suddenly our daughter and why are you acting as if we didn’t make love two days ago?” he asked her looking her straight in the eye.

“What?” she hissed, “We never made love; we haven’t even touched each other in years…”

“Oh?” he raised a brow, “We haven’t touched each other?” his knuckle ran down her cheek.

“Stop!” she turned her head.

“Stop, what?” he whispered as his lips hovered over hers, “Stop what, Eve?” he whispered into her ear, and then began nibbling at it.

“Julian, what…what are…you…” she panted as she closed her eyes.

He pressed his body into her, which caused Eve’s eyes to open when she felt him against her lower abdomen. She suddenly felt his fingers on the front of her blouse, unbuttoning the buttons…

Her senses were lost; she didn’t know what was happening, what was real anymore.

“Why do you keep referring to Samantha as ‘Gwen’, Julian?” she moaned.

“Shhhh,” he shush her before his lips claimed hers.

Downstairs, Ethan was helping Pilar cook, and that’s when Samantha excused herself. She had told her future mother-in-law that she wanted to leave Ethan a surprise in his room.

Hearing moaning come from her father’s room, Samantha decided to just walk passed, but when she saw her own mother in there with Julian, she decided to hide around the corner and eavesdrop.

Julian was on his knees with his hands resting on Eve’s hips. He was asking for her to forgive him, Sam made out. Julian then began kissing his way up Eve’s front.

Was her blouse opened?! Sam’s eyes bugged out of its sockets.

Julian began kissing her breasts, and then began kissing her neck as his hand took over and cupped her breast.

“Shower with me, Eve…shower with me, darling?” he pleaded with her.

“No, I can’t…what would I say…my hair would be wet…” she asked, not even realizing that she was actually contemplating his request.

“We’ll be very careful,” he pulled from her and looked her in the eyes and smiled, “What do you say, my little Songbird…”

Eve’s smile all of a sudden disappeared and everything nice that she had been thinking of Julian had faded away.

“What, what did you call me?” her voice broke.

Julian noticed how she tensed up and didn’t appear relaxed anymore.

“What I always called you in the past, darling…my little Songbird,” he smiled and attempted to touch her face, but…

She pushed him from her.

“God, Julian! Can’t you ever let things alone?! You screwed up everything in the past, and now that you see that I’m happy, you want to screw that up too, but no, no, I’m not going to let you come between Tc and I…I love him and that’s it!” she shoved Julian back and ran out of the room and down the stairs and out the front door.

From his room, he heard the front door open and close. He knew that Eve had left upset and that’s when he slammed his door shut and decided to just skip the party and go back to bed…

“Mom, why did father call you his little,” she paused and looked around, “Songbird?” Sam whispered.

“What? Where did you hear that from?”

“I, I saw you two tonight,” she looked down.

“You did,” Eve’s cheek reddened, “It wasn’t what it looked like, honey…”

Sam laughed.

“Yeah, well, you could’ve fooled me. Is there something going on between you two? Does dad know?”

“Nothing, Samantha, nothing! Now drop this!” Eve left her daughter behind in the living room and went into the kitchen.

“Well, if you say so…” Sam walked in and said, “I’ll see you later, mom,” she kissed Eve’s cheek and left through the back door…

And left Eve thinking of that very evening…when she almost let Julian back into her heart. But…was he ever out of her heart?
