Back In Harmony

"You didn’t have to come." Charity said looking over at the man that stood next to her.
"I wasn’t going to let you do this alone." He whispered as they walked toward the hospital.
"Bray, Chad and Theresa are here with me." She reasoned.
"Well maybe I was worried about you." He said looking at her with concern. "After all we are friends."
"Well in that case, thank you." She said smiling at him.
They walked into the hospital and Charity stopped. "I wish Chad and Theresa were here right now."
Bray smiled, "They had to go talk to her mother, but you know they’ll get here soon."
"Right, soon." She said looking over at him. "Come with me to the room?" She asked, her eyes almost begging.
"You love your aunt don’t you?" He questioned looking down at her shaky hand. Reaching down he took it in his.
"She holds so much of my mother in her, and she was so wonderful to me." She said looking down to see her hand in his.
"Its all going to work out." He promised.
"Charity!" A voice yelled out as she looked up to see Jessica running toward her.
"Jess." Charity smiled as her cousin pulled her into a huge hug.
"I’m so glad your here, Mom has been asking for you." She said looking at Charity.
"How is she?" Charity asked as a tear fell from Jessica’s eye.
"Not good. Dad won’t tell me much though, and Kay, she just ignores me."
"Well I’m here now." Charity smiled.
Jessica looked at Charity for a second. "You’ve changed." She smiled. "But I like it."
"I’m a different person now." She said looking up at Bray.
Jessica suddenly noticed the handsome man beside Charity and began to smile. "Who’s this?"
Charity rolled her eyes as Bray began to smile widely, he was such a flirt! "This is Chad’s friend Bray." She said looking at Bray as a frown appeared on his face. "We’ve become good friends." She explained seeing relief in Bray’s eyes again.
"Nice to meet you Jessica." He said extending his hand.
"Are you a cowboy?" She giggled. "I mean you are from Texas right?"
Bray laughed, "No, actually I’m a model and writer."
"Model?" Jessica said her eyes getting larger. "Well I can see why."
Bray smiled. "Why thank you."
Charity let out a sigh, "Jessica can you show me to your mother’s room?" She said looking back at Bray. " I would really like to see her."
"Oh yeah, of course." Jessica said still staring at Bray. Finally turning around she lead the two down the hall.
"Cute kid." Bray whispered to Charity.
"Kid, keep that word in mind. " She told him with a warning look.
"Don’t worry, she’s not my type anyway." He laughed. "To perky."
Charity felt a little better just hearing those words. "Well its not like I care anyway." She shrugged.
"Yeah, sure." Bray said with a sigh.
"Mom is in Room 289, I need to go call dad and tell him your here." Jessica smiled walking away from the two ‘friends’.
"I didn’t think I’d be this nervous." Charity said taking a deep breathe.
"You’re worried about seeing Miguel, why don’t you just admit it." Bray said with a frown.
"I can handle seeing him, my aunt might die, Miguel is the last thing on my mind." She whispered.
"If you say so." Bray said refusing to fight with Charity. He knew she was nervous and he knew why, but fighting with her was the last thing she needed.
"There’s Aunt Grace’s room." Charity said chewing on her bottom lip.
"You can do this. You’re strong."
"Charity? Is that you?" A male voice sounded suddenly as Charity stopped in her tracks, turning around slowly she gripped Bray’s hand without realizing it.
In front of her she saw the two people she hated the most in the world. "Miguel, Kay, its good to see you again." She said though her words seemed forced. "How have you been?"

"Theresa we have missed you so much!" Pilar cried hugging her child. "I knew you’d come back."
"Mama, I’m sorry I left, I just needed to figure some things out." Theresa explained.
"And did you figure them out?" Luis asked walking over to his sister his caring arms wrapping her in a hug.
"I did. Thanks to Chad." She said smiling over at the man she loved. "I realized Chad and I belong together."
"That’s wonderful." Pilar smiled tears forming in her eyes.
"Well we think so." Chad laughed, his eyes glued to Theresa the whole time.
"Mama ,Chad and I love each other very much, and we want to spend our lives together." Theresa smiled looking back at Chad who’s eyes were shining bright.
"Oh Theresa, I’m so happy for you. I just knew you’d find happiness." Pilar gushed as she wrapped her arms around Theresa.
"So I guess that means you two will be coming home?" Luis smiled looking over at Chad.
Theresa moved from her mother and walked over by Chad, looking at her brother she took a deep breath.
"You two are home to stay right Theresa?" Luis asked again.
Theresa felt Chad’s arm wrap around her as she spoke. "Actually Luis, we’re thinking of moving to Texas, it seems like the perfect place to start our lives together."
