custody trial!
EM is kidnapped, and the kidnapper is NOT who you
think!
Julian resentfully stared at the wall as Rebecca whispered some of his deepest darkest secrets in his ear. He felt as if a noose was slowly closing around his neck.
"Why did I agree to marry you?" Julian asked.
"Because of what a good and loving wife I am to you," Rebecca said sarcastically. Julian's head snapped in her direction, unaware that he had said it out loud.
"That's the biggest bunch of bull-" Julian said. Even for sarcasm, he couldn't beleive her nerve.
"Wow sounds like they're really going at it in there," Whitney said.
"Yeah," Fox agreed. "They've barely been married a week and they're already worse than dad and mom ever were." Fox said.
"You're a coward." Rebecca said.
"I can think of a million things I could say about you, dear," Julian said snidely.
"Oh yeah, well lets hear them." Rebecca said. "No point in waiting for me to rip you to shreds later."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Julian asked.
"Well, you should know because you seemed to think I would after finding out about your relationship with you know who." Rebecca said.
"You know who?" Julian asked.
"I'm not going to say her name because you'll be in
here thinking about her all night." Rebecca said.
"Oh God, Rebecca, is that all you can say?" Julian
asked.
"Don't side track me Julian." Rebecca said. "You're still in one peice now aren't you?" Rebecca said. "And how long have I known? Gee, when I asked you if you were having a relationship with someone else, you said no, but we get to L.A. and I walk in on the two of you, and you give me some lame excuse like she was helping you get something out of your eye." Rebecca said. "Now you're sitting in here worrying about her feeling guilty about who you're married to!"
"That's none of your business." Julian said.
"Oh, I think it is." Rebecca said. "You were involved with me before you ever went on conscience trip. I am very upset with you Julian. I helped you get rid of Theresa when you were miserable with her, but the second I helped you get rid of her, you started thinking about how you could get rid of me." Rebecca said.
"That wasn't fair." Julian said.
"Admit it Julian." Rebecca said. Julian was tired of arguing with her.
"Go," Julian said dismissively. Rebecca's jaw dropped. She knew if she pushed Julian too far she wouldn't see him the rest of the night.
"Fine," Rebecca said, their argument starting to cool down. "But we have a lot to talk about later." Rebecca said.
"Fine," Julian said, just wanting her out of his library. Rebecca left
the library. Julian stared, not even bothering with the drink he had just
opened. He
closed it and put it away. He had thought he was doing the right thing
to protect Eve, but he couldn't get Rebecca's comment out of his head.
"If I did the right thing to save Eve's marraige by keeping our past
a secret, did I do the right thing putting Eve in this position?"
Julian asked. "Maybe I haven't changed at all."
Julian said. Was he just fighting a losing battle?
Julian buried his face in his hands miserably. He
gave up. Every time he tried to protect Eve, he only seemed to end
up hurting her more. No matter how they tried to solve the situation, things
ended up dragging out more. He felt like he was trapped in one of those
movies where the main character tries to go back in time to fix something
but every time the situation ended up getting considerably worse. Every
time he was around Eve, he wanted her more and more, and every time
they got closer, he had been putting them at more risk of getting caught,
especially when it led to them being unable to keep from kissing each other-
in public places. Eve was a respected doctor, first reccomendation of all
of her family and friends. He remembered several times when she had to
pick between helping out in the latest Harmony crisis or her family. He
didn't know how she did it all. After giving it some thought, he realizied
that if he kept putting them in situations where they could have gotten
caught, she could have lost all of that. He couldn't do that to her.
"What have I done?" Julian asked. Julian started to feel like he was
a lost cause, then went back into
his old ways.
"We will find a way to help you get your son back," Miguel said to Theresa in prison.
"There has to be a way to stop the Cranes at the custody battle." Theresa said.
Theresa didn't know who was going to help her now.
"Theresa, we're all behind you one hundred percent of the way," Simone said, who had gone with Miguel since Charity was keeping her promise to death.
Charity sighed. She couldn't beleive what losing
Miguel was doing to her.
"Christmas cookie?" Tabitha offered, still trying to get rid of the dozens of Grace Bennetts Christmas cookies that had been delivered.
"No thanks," Charity said. Tabitha walked off for a private chat with Endora. She chuckled.
"Keeping Charity's promise with Papa Smurf really is costing her relationship with Miguel!" Tabitha said. "I almost feel sorry for the girl!" A feather fell onto the table.
"Timmy?" Tabitha asked. A scroll appeared by the feather.
"Timmys princess needs to help Charity!" the letter
said.
"Oh, Timmy, you know I'm a witch, I can't do goodness," Tabitha said
sadly. She hated disappointing Timmy, but she was a witch. There
was more on the letter. Tabitha read it.
"Timmy knows his princess can." the letter said. Tabitha sighed.
"Tim Tim, you know I can't do good, but if it makes you happy, I promise I will go easy on Charity." Tabitha said. There was one last message on the letter.
"Thank you princess." The letter disappeared.
Later, Julian had finished relaxing with a cigar in
his library. Rebecca walked in. They had both insencerily apologized
for the way they acted earlier, even though both of them knew that neither
one of them really meant it. Julian began making several legal phone calls.
No way was any son of his going to be some local!
Julian thought. Rebecca stared at him in shock.
"What happened to you?" Rebecca asked, completely stunned by Julian's
sudden change in behavior. Julian
couldn't even stop long enough to answer with all of the legal calls
he had to make.
"This is not the same Julian I talked to earlier!" Rebecca said to herself.
"Mind if I make some of those calls, pookey?" Rebecca asked. "Seems like you have a lot of legal work to do!" Julian handed her a phone and a list of contacts.
"Knock yourself out," Julian said. Rebecca looked at the extremely long list of contacts- they sure had a long list of lawyers and legal aides to contact.
"What have I gotten myself into?" Rebecca asked. Rebecca smirked. Julian
walked back into the room,
deciding that Rebecca didn't need such a power trip. He grabbed the
list and devided it up. Even devided between the both of them, the list
of contacts seemed excessive. But part of being a Crane was having to squish
your competition like a bug, right? Rebecca thought, picking up the phone.
Julian couldn't help but smirked as Rebecca walked in with a numb arm and
her neck at an odd angle. Not saying anything, she collapsed onto the sofa.
Julian smirked.
"Too many phone calls, Becks?" Julian asked. Rebecca distractedly answered him.
"I've got a call on the other line- I've got three other calls on hold-" Rebecca said, muttering several random area codes.
"Sorry, pookey, I've made so many phone calls I'm thinking in long distance phone numbers!" Rebecca said. Julian smirked.
"You know what they say about payback," Julian thought. He figured if
he started her out as Mrs. Crane with
some of the more drawn out and tedious jobs, she'd
back off on her power trips for a while.
"Rebecca, can you do me a favor while I fill out the last bit of tonights paperwork?" Julian asked.
"What?" Rebecca asked.
"Could you order a pizza?" Julian asked.
"Julian!" Rebecca moaned. "Alright," Rebecca said. She sighed with releif
when all she had to do was hit speed dial. "Oh, pookey, if they accidentally
send you a plain cheese and forget the sauce for the breadsticks like last
time, I'm not calling a lawyer!"
