“Julian, I want to get married right away, I can’t wait to be your wife.” Eve said hugging him tightly.
“I can’t wait to be your husband, what an honor it will be Eve. This will be the one wedding that I will actually want to attend.” He said smiling.

Eve laughed at him; he could even turn a very romantic moment into a funny one.

“I know being married to Ivy was unpleasant for you honey.” Eve said.

“It was, but I wasn’t the best husband either, oh Eve I can’t wait to marry you, I love you so very much and when we find our son, it will be so amazing. I will have the real family I always wanted, the one I should have had so many years ago. Finally my dream is going to be a reality.” He said smiling.

“I do want to get married as soon as possible, before our little darling is here. We don’t have to have a large wedding Julian. Just because I am going to be Mrs. Crane doesn’t mean I have to have this fancy ball.”

“Whatever you want Eve, but I would give you the world if I could.” He said kissing her.

“I don’t know who will really attend though, my girls, Grace and David, I am not sure Julian.”

“Well either the whole town will show up out of curiosity or they will snub us completely and not be there. As long as we have each other, that’s all that counts Eve.”

They sat by the water a little while longer then returned to their home. Julian opened the door and attempted to pick Eve up.

“First of all, don’t break your back, second of all, it’s not going to happen.” Eve said laughing.

“Sweetheart, I was just practicing for the honeymoon, the least I can give you is a nice trip somewhere, if we have a small ceremony.”

“You don’t have to Julian, it’s not necessary.”

“I want to take you away, please honey and don’t worry, it won’t be Bermuda.”

“I should hope not, you have had your share of memories there to last a lifetime, think of all the Martimmy’s that started some very interesting nights for you there.” She said staring at him inquisitively.

“Yes, you are right there.” Julian said.

“I associate Bermuda with, booze, sex, the old Julian, not to mention Little Ethan was conceived there as well, not that little Ethan isn’t darling Julian, he was the one good thing to come out of your night with Theresa. And we were there quite often.”

“At least we were in love then at least Eve, remember, those fantastic nights of making love? I remember them like it was yesterday.” He said smiling.

“Well, anyway, I am going to take a hot bath and get ready for bed.”

“Okay Eve.”

Eve opened the bathroom door and Julian was already in bed, reading the newspaper.

“Julian?”

“Yes love?”

“Don’t you think it’s time you made some friends?” Eve asked.

He put the newspaper down on the nightstand and looked at her.

“I don’t mean that you have all enemies, but wouldn’t it be nice if you could meet some other guys to hang out with? I don’t know watch a game, go for a beer.”

“Oh Eve, this is me you are talking about, I have never done anything like that before, it was never a Crane scene.”

“I know, but since Fox and you are bonding now, he seems pretty with it, maybe you could go out with him. I am not trying to sound lame here, but you wanted a normal life and that is kind of what’s involved, plus our baby needs interaction with other parents and kids as well when they arrive.” Eve said.

“But I know everyone in Harmony already, maybe it would have been better if we moved away from here.” Julian said.

“No I like our home Julian, but maybe you could join a club? I don’t know, maybe, get a job, and meet people that way.” Eve said.

“You really want me to be a workingman since Alistair cut my ties, don’t you?” he said smiling.

“I know we are okay financially, but maybe it would be good, give you something to do, you said you wanted to help out and perhaps you will meet some friends. You are great in business Julian, even if you take a job out of Harmony. You wanted a lifestyle different from what you are used to, think about it.” Eve said holding his hand.

“I did like law when I was in school.”

“You are Julian Crane, and just because you happen to have the Crane name and not be proud of it, doesn’t mean you can’t get another job. You are very intelligent, experienced and very talented. I know it and a company will too.”

“Talented Eve, would you care to show me what my talents are?” he said playing with the straps of her teddy.

“Now Julian, don’t be like that, I am being serious here, can you not go two minutes without thinking about sex?” Eve asked.

“No, I’m a man.” He said winking.

“Julian!” she said hitting his arm.

“Okay sweetheart, if it means that much to you, I will start preparing a resume in the morning.”

“I just want to see you get out and meet some new social circles, but one of real friends, not snobs.”

“I know, if I am going to have a good life and a proper one, built on hard work and a loving committed marriage, then I should get out there. Our baby does need a good role model Eve, you are an amazing one, I have to become one.” Julian said, leaning in to give her a kiss.

“I am glad Julian, I know you are going to meet some really nice people, to hang out with, do things with.” She said proudly, knowing it was her idea.

“Sweetheart, just remember one thing, men don’t “hang out” like women do, and I know it’s stereotypical and all, but if I took my buddy shopping or to a movie, we might be getting our nails done next!” he said laughing.

“That’s not true!”

“Your idea of catching a game before or a beer is good, but even that has never been something I was into, but I could learn.”

“You wanted to live life in a different way, so you will no longer be “thee Julian Crane,” you will just be Julian, if that’s okay.”

“Yes dear, it’s perfect.” He said smiling.

Eve and Julian were now like your average couple, pretty much in every way, a normal lifestyle and that included their soon to be wedding, which Eve was very ready to do. They had been almost tempted to go to city hall and tie the knot, but they decided to have a ceremony in their home instead, and just invite a few friends. As preparations were made, they had planned to have their wedding September 6th, just before the arrival of their child, which was only three weeks away from then. Eve sat on the stool, sorting out some ideas for decorating their home; she wanted something elegant, but still simple. Julian came into the kitchen and put down his briefcase, he had been on several interviews and had a good chance at a job for a CEO at a law firm in Willowdale, which was a half an hour drive or so from Harmony.

“I have another interview honey.”

“At the same place?”

“Yeah a third one, it’s a group one this time and I have to give a presentation as well.”

“You are great at them, it won’t be a problem for you.” Eve said.

“I will have to get on the computer tonight and do some more research oh and I told them, if I do get the job, when our wedding is so they know.”

“That’s good Julian, you can’t miss your own wedding.”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” He said kissing her sweetly.
