Swept Away, Chapter 10 (Evian)
by ejcrane

Weeks later, Tracy and Julian began seeing each other. The kids didn’t like it…well, all of them except Julius. He actually didn’t mind his father and music teacher together; they made a nice looking pair. None of the kids liked the way their mother looked or felt, so they decided to keep their father’s new friend amongst themselves…until Eve went to school one day to visit with Tc.

That day when Eve went to parent’s day, she found out that Tc was a teacher at the school where her children attended. And now, she was going to visit with him, since she hadn’t had contact with him in over five years.

She was walking down the hallway, when she saw Julian go into Miss Richards’ classroom. She found it strange, since she wasn’t informed that Julius needed a teacher/parent conference. As she stepped to the door, and before she was going to open it, Eve looked into the tiny window, only to see Julian stroking Miss Richards’ hair and then pulling her into a kiss. It wasn’t a short kiss either. Eve looked away and slammed her fists into the concrete wall.

Julian, no…no! Don’t do this to me… Eve sobbed.

She then turned and ran back in the direction she came in. She was not going to see Tc today, she was just going to go back home…to work…anywhere where she didn’t have to see Julian with her, but she was stopped when she ran straight into Tc, coming out of the front office.

“Eve?” he held her at arm lengths away, “Eve, what is it sweetheart?” he asked with concern.

“Nothing, Tc, nothing, I just have to go,” she tried to pull away.

“No, I can’t let you go at a time like this,” he led her down the hall some ways, so that they wouldn’t be disturbed, “Eve, come on baby, tell me what’s bothering you.”

“Julian…” she cried out, “It’s Julian! I saw him with Julius’ teacher…they were kissing,” Eve began sobbing as Tc pulled her into his arms.

“I’m sorry, Eve,” he kissed the side of her head, “I’m so sorry. I know you still love him, and I can just imagine what this divorce has done to you.” He caressed her back.

Just then, Julian said his “goodbyes” to Tracy, and stepped out of her classroom, when he turned to his left and began walking. He stopped and stared out in front of him. There was Tc and he was holding a woman in his arms. Eve? No, it couldn’t; it wouldn’t be Eve. She would’ve never forgiven Tc for the way he cheated on her in the past. But as Julian got closer, he realized that it had been Eve who was in Tc’s arms. He hid around the corner just in time for Tc’s eyes to miss him.

“Eve, I’ll be here for you,” he cupped her face in his hands, “I’m going to be here for you, you hear?”

Julian could hear every word Tc was saying and his blood began boiling! He didn’t want any man to be there for Eve…HE wanted to be the man there for Eve! Julian then peeked around the corner just in time to witness Tc’s face inching its way down onto Eve’s. Their lips met. Eve hadn’t felt Tc’s lips in so long. She had always loved his kisses; that’s what drew her to him when they first started dating. Her arms wrapped around his neck and Eve gave it her all when she kissed him back with same amount of fervor as Tc displayed for her…

DAMNIT, Eve…no…no! Julian hid back around the corner as his back made contact with the wall.

His fists were in front of him, but he banged them back into the wall as he brought them down to his sides. His eyes were burning with tears. Julian looked back around the corner, but both Tc and Eve were gone. He then composed himself and walked down the hallway he was in and exited the school and made his way to his car, where he drove home in heartache.
---

Months passed, and Eve was dropping off the kids at the mansion. She and Julian talked for a brief moment, and that’s when he informed her that he and Tracy were getting serious…serious enough, that he asked her to be his wife.

“You’re getting married,” she whispered and nodded as she turned away from him, “Well,” she swallowed and cleared her throat, “I’m happy for you, Julian,” she turned back around after she collected herself in those short seconds, and smiled.

“Thank you, Eve,” he simply said, “So,” he began fiddling with papers on his desk, “You’re seeing Russell again, hmm?” he peeked up to meet her eyes.

“Tc? Uh, well, we’re just…friends.”

“I see,” he swallowed the lump in his throat.

“Well, I guess I better be going,” she said as she picked up her purse, “If the kids need anything just…call,” she smiled, “Bye, Julian,” she turned around and began walking out of the library.

Eve, just say you want us back…just say it and I’ll tell Tracy that I don’t want to marry her; that we’ve reconciled…please Eve, just tell me; tell me that you still love me…

He watched as Eve stopped. His eyes lit up in anticipation.

“Julian?” she turned around.

“Yes, Eve?” he smiled eagerly.

“Congratulations,” Eve gave him one last smile and left the mansion.

His heart sunk. What he wanted Eve to do; she didn’t.
---

“You can’t marry Tc, Eve…you can’t!”

“Why not? You’ve moved on, and you’re now married to Tracy. Is it against the rules that I have moved on? Huh, Julian?” she raised a brow, “Why can’t I marry, Tc?”

“Because I--,” he paused, “I don’t want to see you get hurt by him again.”

“Well, I appreciate your concern, but Tc has changed throughout the years, and these past few months, I’ve seen that,” she smiled as she thought of her fiancé, “And being with him these few months, I’ve realized that there’s still a part of me that loves him,” her eyes met Julian’s, “Don’t get me wrong, when we were together, I was totally devoted to you, but now, that we’re divorced and you’ve moved on…Tc and I have…reconnected. I love him.”

Julian nodded and stood.

“I’m sorry, Eve,” he shook his head, “It was wrong of me to interfere in your life,” he said before he left her office.
---

“I love you, I love you!” Julian said as he thrust into Tracy.

She cried out and clung onto him as he continued this driving rhythm he had going on.

Julian looked down into her eyes and smiled. All he saw was Eve’s face. Eve was beneath him as he made love to her. She was in his arms again; their bodies were one. He couldn’t get enough of her, but something just didn’t feel right. It was her face, but her skin, her lips, her breasts didn’t taste right. And as he was buried deep inside her, there was just something not right…

Julian finally collapsed onto her as he began planting kisses along her neck.

“That was…wonderful!” she laughed as she panted, “What has gotten into you, honey?” she kissed his head.

Julian heard that voice and picked up his head. He blinked his eyes. It had been Tracy he had made love to, not Eve. Julian laid on his side of the bed and stared up. Tracy then made her way over and rested her head upon his chest as she fell asleep. By her heavy breathing, Julian could tell that his wife was asleep, so he pulled away from her and stood. He grabbed his robe and slipped it on and then walked out of the room. Julian soon found himself inside another room that he kept locked at all times…his and Eve’s old bedroom. He shut the door behind him, locked it, and then walked over to their bed. His robe soon fell to the floor and Julian’s body slid underneath the covers.

“Eve,” he sighed as he smelled her pillow.

Her scent still lingered on the covers. He could still feel her. Julian could still feel the way it felt holding her in his arms…after they made love, when they were just barely going to sleep…

“Ohh, Eve,” his hand reached out and caressed the silk sheets on Eve’s side of the bed.

This was the first day that Julian ever stepped inside their old room, since the day that he left the mansion long ago…since his and Eve’s divorce. Being in there, Julian felt as if he and Eve were still together. Thirty minutes had already passed, and Julian felt it wouldn’t be good if Tracy woke up and he was missing. And she wouldn’t like it if she found him in his old bedroom; the bedroom he share with his ex-wife, so he got up and went back to his new bedroom…his new wife.
