CH. 1

Gwen sobbed. All she could think about was how everything had gone wrong. She stared at a picture of their wedding, a tear falling on the glass.
"Ethan, if you didn't love me, why did you marry me? I could have gone ahead and went to New York and gotten that job, I could have been able to work and support our baby, but you kept running to Theresa's rescue, it didn't even matter that I was right there in the room. God, Ethan, do you have any idea how much it hurt to know how close you still are with your ex-fiance?" Gwen asked the picture. Then there were all of her mother's schemes to keep her and Ethan together, she knew that Rebecca was trying to protect her, but every one of Rebecca's schemes had backfired and caused Theresa to be in trouble which automatically sent Ethan coming to her rescue.
"Ethan, I hate you!" Gwen yelled. Gwen let out an outraged scream and threw the picture into the nearest wall. Gwen seethed with rage as she watched the picture shatter into peices.
"Julian, I'm sure you'll get custody of little Ethan," Rebecca said.
"I don't see how," Julian said. "Theresa is still on Crane grounds, living in the cottage with Sheridan and Antonio."
"Pookey, you really need to talk some sense into your sister. I know we don't want Luis and Sheridan together because Luis could figure out Crane secrets, but she can do a lot better than marrying a vegetable." Rebecca said.
"Rebecca, in case you're forgetting, Antonio came out of his coma." Julian reminded her.
"My point exactly," Rebecca said. "Not only that, she's willingly letting Theresa live in her cottage!" Julian and Rebecca jumped when they heard the sound of breaking glass. "That came from Gwenny's room!" Rebecca said. Rebecca rushed into the room. "Gwenny, what happened?" Gwen picked up the picture.
"What happened!?" Gwen exclaimed. "What happened, you're what happened, mother! All of your tricks to keep Theresa away from Ethan ruined my life!"
"Gwen, what are you talking about?" Rebecca asked.
"Mother, all of your schemes to get Theresa away from Ethan totally blew up in my face! Now Ethan's busy rescuing Theresa again!" Gwen yelled.
"Gwen, I was trying to protect you. I'd do anything to protect my Gwenny." Rebecca said.
"If protecting means ruining my life, well, yeah, I guess you did just that." Gwen said. "I had to divorce Ethan because I can't stand to see him constantly rescuing his ex-fiance, when I'm right there in the room! I just can't keep wondering whether Ethan's feelings for me are going to stay the same, I divorced Ethan because I don't want my baby to have a father that's not going to be there for him because he's too busy rescuing Theresa, besides, I don't need that much stress while I'm pregnant."
"Gwenny, we'll figure out something to get you and Ethan back together, and get Theresa completely out of the picture." Rebecca said.
"Oh gee, that's what you said when you hired that mystery man to get the information on Theresa and Julian's fake wedding, now Ethan is busy rescuing Theresa because Julian wants Ethan Martin. If you try anything else to keep Theresa away from Ethan, Ethan will realize how much he loves Theresa and want to marry her!" Gwen said.
"Gwenny, I'm trying to help," Rebecca said.
"You're trying to help?" Gwen asked. "Look what you're trying to help did to me and Ethan? Look what its did for you and Julian, you find a mystery man to get rid of Theresa, Julian's worst nightmare, and he completely ignores you the rest of the time, could you possibly act any more desperate?"
"Gwen!" Rebecca exclaimed.
"Well, now that you're done ruining my life, why don't you go cling to Julian and pretend that he notices you? It's so pathetic the way you cling to Julian when he couldn't divorce Ivy and ended up marrying Theresa, a great example you're setting! Now that Theresa is out of the way, you can go make an even bigger fool out of yourself!"
"Gwen, I am your mother!" Rebecca said.
"Well, I'm going to be a mother, and I don't need Ethan around not knowing whether he loves me or Theresa!" Gwen said. "I'm tired of you always convincing me how much I 'need' Ethann and all of these schemes that are going to break up Ethan and Theresa for good and have everything blow up in my face. Get out, just get out!" Gwen yelled. "I hate you!"
"Gwen, you don't mean that-" Rebecca said.
"Just go!" Gwen yelled. Rebecca ducked just in time to miss being hit by another picture of Gwen and Ethan. Rebecca left the room.
"What the hell happened in there?" Julian asked.
"Gwen hates me," Rebecca said, still stunned by the things Gwen said. "She says I ruined her life because every time we tried to get Theresa out of the mansion, she could tell Ethan still loved Theresa because he was always rescuing her."
"I'm sure Gwen is just upset," Julian said.
"Julian, she says she hates me." Rebecca said. "What am I going to do? I was trying to protect Gwen, and instead, I ended up ruining her life."
Gwen packed her bags. "It's over, Ethan, there is no going back." Gwen said. Gwen carried the suitcases into the hallway. "I'm out of here," Gwen said to Rebecca and Julian.
"Gwenny, you can't leave the mansion," Rebecca said.
"I can, and I am." Gwen said.
"But where will you go? You and your baby will have to find some place to stay." Rebecca said.
"Mother, I've got an apartment on the other side of Harmony away from Ethan and Theresa. First thing in the morning, I'm going to look for a job." Gwen said.
