Whitney and Ethan - Chapter 3

Whitney felt right for the first time in a few months, kissing Ethan made her feel right. But losing Theresa as a friend was strange, Whitney had never thought of it, but she would have been bothered by Theresa being with Chad.
Whitney broke the kiss and stared into Ethan's eyes,
"I do love you Ethan, but They're are a lot of things stopping us from, being together, I can't help but wonder if we can over come them all, I don't know if love is enough."
"I know what you mean, but, I think if you're really in love you can make it through anything."
"I Hope you're right." Ethan kissed her again.
"I wanted to talk to you about somethings, Everything I guess."
"I want to talk to you too."
"What about Chad, we both care about him, I really don't want Chad to get hurt."
"Neither do I Ethan, but it will hurt him more, if I stay with Him when I don't love him."
"I agree, but I don't quiet know how to tell him."
"There's a more pressing issue Ethan, something we really need to talk about."
"What it is it?"
"Mrs. Theresa Crane, I told her what we did earlier, and that I thought I was in love with you, she told me that if I tried to pursue things with you, I would lose her forever, I can't stand to think about that."
"I know that Theresa has been your best friend all your life, but I don't know what her problem is."
"Think about this, if Gwen were dead, which I know she is, how would you feel if Chad, decided to he wanted to be with her after you broke up."
"I guess that would bother me." Ethan answered after a second.
"Think of this think of how bad it bothered you when Theresa fell in love with Fox, you didn't want her yourself but you didn't want her to be with Fox did you?"
"Not really."
"None of what I have just said changes anything though Ethan, I want to be with you there's just a lot that could happen, to stop that."
"We won't let it stop us."

Later that night Whitney and Ethan still sat up talking, while they did nothing physical they talked all night about the future and the way the world had fallen at there feet. At 2:30 they fell asleep on the couch in eachothers arms.

"Well Well isn't this a pretty picture, My wife asleep in the arms of my best friend If I didn't know better, I would think there was something going on here." Whitney opened her eyes to see Chad standing over her and Ethan.
"CHAD!!! what are you doing here, you aren't supposed to be back for a few weeks." Whitney said unsure of what to say.
"I thought I would surprise you, but when I got home last night, you weren't there I waited for you all night, and you never came, and so I came over here to see if Ethan had seen you and found you two like that." Chad said confused.
"We have a lot we should tell you Chad, a lot has happened over the last few weeks." Ethan suddenly entered. Whitney didn't know what to do, they couldn't tell Chad now, it would be to painful looking into his eyes again, she knew she had to wait.
