Sheridan arrived at the Crane mansion to visit her best friend who she
knew could use the cheering up. She giggled all the way up the stairs to
Gwen's quarters after witnessing Julian and Ivy playing with Lil Ethan
and Andrea. Julian had loosened his tie and Lil Ethan was riding his back
like a horse while Andrea in Ivy's arms was pealing with laughter. It all
looked so natural. The perfect Grandparents. Of course...Sheridan had to
remind herself, Julian is most likely Lil Ethan's father. She entered the
room to find Gwen resting in bed looking very weak and pale. Gwen's face
lit up instantly at the sight of her friend.
"Sheridan! it is so good to see you!"
Sheridan laughed. "You act like it's been ages when it's only been
a night."
Gwen grimaced."After such an eventful night, it seems like an eternity."
Sheridan climbed into bed with her friend and the two giggled and gossiped
like two teenagers for hours until the phone next to the bed rang. Gwen
was giggleing when she reached the phone.
"Hello?" She said, expecting Ethan.
"I just wanted you to know Ethan and I were together alone in his office
a little while ago. You can use your own imagination as to what happened."
Gwen's face dropped. "You are the last person I want to be talking
to Theresa."
Sheridan's face changed dramatically from happiness to rage in a split
second. She grabbed the phone from Gwen and began shouting at the girl
ont he other side of the phone.
"How dare you call here and upset Gwen after the stunts you pulled
last night. You are making some pretty severe enemies very quickly. You
better quit right now Theresa."
"Or what Sheridan? You have no power over me. I am a Crane. Luis won't
let you touch me either. No matter how much he loves you I'm still his
sister and he will protect me."
"You are an adult Theresa. How many times do people have to tell you
that? You have a child. Quit with these stupid games and start acting like
a mother. You are lucky there are still people that want to help you after
all the crap you've pulled over the years. I for one was proud of Luis
for putting you out in the street last night and I think it was high time
that he did."
"What is your problem, Sheridan? Is little Gwennie too much of a baby
to face a real woman herself? She knows Ethan will come running back to
me once he finds out Lil Ethan is his son and we will live the life we
were always meant to live. Together, happy, and rich! It was fate that
brought us together and fate that will keep us together. He will leave
her and come running to me, leaving Gwen and her hellspawn all alone in
the world."
"Theresa you are so delusional. Why would Ethan ever love you again
after all the lies you have told him? He will never leave his daughter
or his wife, because unlike with you, he loves her truthfullly. Not because
she lied to him to make him love her. Ethan may have been stupid, but he's
learned and he will never go back to you."
"We'll just see about that, won't we?" Theresa yelled, then slammed
the phone down.
Sheridan was shaking when she replaced the phone.
"I have no idea how you do this day after day Gwen. After that one
conversation with her, it's taking all my will power not to drive over
there and strangle her myself."
Gwen sighed heavily. "That's the problem Sheridan. I don't know if
I can handle it anymore. What if Lil Ethan really is Ethan's son? Then
we will never get rid of her...actually, even if he isn't, we probably
still won't get rid of her. How can I live the rest of my life always looking
over my shoulder?"
"Ethan loves you Gwen."
"I know he loves me, and I have loved him my whole life. But how can
I be sure some he won't go running to Theresa the next time some major
crisis come along. He's a good man Sheridan, but he's weak. I need him
to show me that he really can face the temptation and deny it. Right now
I'm not sure he can."
Sheridan took her best friend into her arms.
"Whatever happens Gwen, I will always be there for you. No matter what
you decide."
"I know Sheridan. I appreciate you so much."
"You deserve it after all you've put up with me. Now lets get Theresa
out of our heads and order some dessert from the chef. I'm in the mood
for extra chocolate."
Sheridan unplugged the phone after ordering enough desserts to feed
an army and the two spent the rest of the day watching soaps, giggling,
and eating.
Theresa glared at the phone after she had hung it up. How dare Sheridan
talk to her that way! No one would stand in her way to get Ethan back.
No one! Theresa smiled to herself as she looked around her office. She
had placed a seed of doubt in Gwen's mind, she was sure of it. Ethan was
going to be in for a surprise when he got home.
Ethan tried calling his wife yet again. The phone was still busy. She
must be talking to Sheridan he thought. Unless.....Theresa. Ethan sighed
heavily and put his head in his hands. He had no doubt that she had called
and upset Gwen yet again. Ethan called security.
"Ms. Lopez Fitz-Gerald has had more than enough time to move herself
out. I want her out along with whatever is left. And she is not to come
to my office under any cercumstances, is that clear?"
At least she was out of the Crane mansion and Crane Industries. He
was going to get the number to his and Gwen's quarters changed as soon
as he got home. He was very worried about his wife's health. She was too
fragile at this time to deal with more upsets. Ethan picked up the phone
and dialed the flower shop. He ordered three dozen long stemmed red roses
to be delivered to Gwen's room along with two teddy bears, one for Andrea,
one for Lil Ethan. He also planned on ordering the finest dinner in all
of Harmony to be taken home to Gwen so he and she could spend a night alone
together. He needed it as much as she did after everything Theresa had
tried to do. He hated himself for putting Gwen throught all the pain he
had in the past. In the hallway he could hear Theresa's screeching.
"Get your hands off me! Don't you know who I am! Ethan! Ethan I know
you don't mean this! We love each other! We are meant to be together! Ethan!
Tell them to stop!"
Ethan shook his head. The woman was crazy. He couldn't believe he hadn't
seen it before. If Lil Ethan was trully his son, he was going to file for
sole custody. Gwen had always been more of a mother to him, ever since
she helped birth him. Even if he didn't win, it would send a message to
Theresa that they trully were over. At least he hoped it would.
The phone rang in Kay's room. It was John.
"Hi Kay! How are you doing today."
"Fine John. How are you?"
"Great! I was wondering, if you're not too busy, you want to go catch
a movie with me tonight?"
Kay smiled. Three dates in three days. John really was getting serious.
"Sure John."
"Great! I'll pick you up tonight at 6, alright?"
"Sounds good John, see you then."
Key layed back on the bed, smiling to herself. John really was a nice
guy. He looked so much better now that he had gotten a hair cut. And he
genuinely liked her. She could live with that...if she had to. Kay's smile
disappeared. As much as she tried to tell herself she was over him, Kay
still wanted to be with Miguel. Maybe, if she just talked to him...he would
understand why she did what she did. She checked on Brandon sleeping in
his crib, then quietly walked to Miguel's room. His door was slightly open.
He sat staring at his computer. He had been checking his e-mail every five
minutes since he got home from work. Still no word from Charity.
"Miguel, can I talk to you?"
Migual shrugged.
"I just wanted to let you know that John and I are seeing more of each
other and it might be starting to get serious."
Nothing from Miguel.
"Are you okay with that?"
"Why should I care? I'll just have to make sure and warn him that you
are a lying, spiteful witch."
"Migual that was harsh."
"It's the truth. You took everything away from me when you tricked
me into bed with you. Then you made Charity believe that leaving me would
be the best thing for both of us."
"I thought it would. I thought if we got married, then Brandon would
grow up in a house with both parents and you would love me like I love
you." Kay said. Her eyes pleading. Please Miguel, just say you love me.
"How could I ever love you Kay? After what you did to me and Charity.
Not to mention what could happen to Brandon. DO you honestly believe growing
up in a home with two parents that can't stand each other is any better
than growing up with two parents that are seperated?"
"I thought you would learn to love me."
"I will never love you. I don't even like you anymore. Can't you get
that through your thick skull? Any sort of fondness I ever felt for you
is gone. And there's nothing you can do to ever win it back. The only good
things that ever came out of knowing you is meeting Charity and having
Brandon. I love Brandon with all my heart, but I will never marry you."
Kay was crying. She searched in her head for something, anything she
could say to change his mind. But she saw the look in his face. It was
full of hatred. How could she blame him. After what she did to him.
"I think you should leave now Kay."
Kay silently stood and ran from the room. She was sobbing when she
reached her room. She lay on her bed, crying for a long time. What could
she do? How could she ever make up for tricking Miguel like that? Not only
had she not won his love, she had lost him as a friend. She would never
be able to make up for that. Kay looked at her computer. An idea slowly
began growing in her mind. She might not ever be able to make Miguel love
her or even like her again, but she could at least try to make up for destroying
his life. She sat at the computer. She knew what she needed to do, no matter
how hard it was. Kay swallowed her pride and began typing.
"Dear Charity...."
David arrived and the Crane mansion with a package for Julian. He was
just putting Andrea, Lil Ethan, and Ivy down for a nap. Apparently, he
had worn all three of them out. Julian put his finger to his lips and motioned
for David to follow him. In his office, he poured David a drink and motioned
for him to sit down.
"Take a load of David. You've been working hard. Hardly any time for
pleasure." he said , his eyes twinkling.
David blushed.
"Ah yes, I've seen you with the luscious Dr. Eve. She's a remarkable
creature that one."
David looked at him curiously. "What do you mean by that?"
"Oh, me and her had a....thing a long time ago. Don't worry, it's long
over. I've found my true love. Or refound I guess you might say."he said
chuckling."Treat her well young man. TC was not man enough for her. Don't
make the same mistake."
David smiled and nodded."I don't plan in it Julian."
Julian laughed and patted him on the back."That's my good man! Now
bakc to work! I need this delvered to Ethan, new VP of Crane Industries.
Gosh, I'm so proud of him you'd figure he was my son!"
David laughed and walked out with the package. Julain's statement about
Eve had peaked his curiosity. He would talk about it with her that night.
