Chapter Nine

"What am I up to? You want to know what I’m up to Julian?" Jasolyn asked as she crossed her arms.
"That’s what I said. Now tell me." Julian answered back watching his daughter for any hint of what she was really thinking.
"I am doing my part in the family."
"And just what is that?" Eve questioned.
The girl looked at Eve, " I didn’t realize this was any of your business."
Before Eve could speak Julian glared at Jasolyn, " Do not speak to her like that." He commanded. "You will respect Eve, as well as Theresa and Chad." He said looking at Eve. "Do you understand?" He said his eyes going back to Jasolyn.
"Whatever. I just find it odd that you’ve picked now to act like a father. Must be all this bonding with your other family." She huffed the first emotion she had truly showed since Eve had met her.
Eve looked at Julian. "Why don’t I just wait outside until you clear this up? She questioned.
"Yes. Just don’ t leave Eve. I want to speak with you." Julian smiled.
"I’ll be right outside." Eve said walking out of the room.
"Now Jasolyn tell me what is going on." Julian said sitting back down.
"Well Julian it’s simple. You’ve became soft in your old age." She smirked. "And I don’t like it."
"You sound so much like your grandfather. It makes me sick." Julian frowned. "You can do so much better than that."
"Oh please. I’m Jasolyn Crane, I can’t do better than that. I’m rich who cares about anything else?" She asked rolling her eyes.
"What about love dear?"
"You sound like Sheridan. How is my dear Aunt by the way? Romancing her stud of a husband I suppose?" Jasolyn laughed.
"Sheridan is doing great. And Luis is a good man. " Julian smiled.
"Oh that’s right he’s Theresa’s brother isn’t he? They are both good people right Julian? Good Common people?" She said looking at him.
"Jasolyn I can see from just a few minutes with you that you’ve came to town to stir up trouble. And I’m going to ask you not to. "
"Julian chill out. I’m just here to see my family. Make sure everything is going Ok here in Harmony. I won’t cause to much damage. I promise." She said her voice sweet it almost sounded sincere, but this was Jasolyn Crane and nothing about her was sweet, nor sincere.
"Jasolyn, I’ve made many mistakes with you , and I’m sorry for that. I want to start over with all my children, but you must change darling. You can’t let your anger do this to you."
"Oh great father is a shrink now. Look, I’m here for a few reason’s and becoming daddy’s little girl isn’t one of them. " Jasolyn informed her father her voice cold and low her eyes empty.
Julian stood up his face stiff, he looked at his grown child who stood before him. " Get out." He said blankly pointing toward the door. "You don’t care about our family. You only care about the money. Now go." He almost yelled.
Jasolyn let a grin fall to her face. "Father you finally get it! Give the man a cookie. Of course I’m only about the money." She smirked. "What else would I be about? You? Mother? My dim witted brother’s and sister? Please." She said heading toward the door. "Later Jules." She said slamming the door.

Eve watched as Jasolyn walked out of the office looking delighted in whatever had just happened.
"Julian will see you now." She said looking at Eve.
Eve didn’t move she just looked up at Jasolyn, into her cold blue eyes. Alistair she was Alistair’s little clone. Blinking Eve looked back at the girl, she was evil, in Eve’s mind this girl was nothing but trouble.
"Well? Go on. Don’t just sit there. I’m sure father would rather see you than me." Jasolyn said.
"Yeah, Ok." Eve said dazed.
"What’s wrong with you?" Jasolyn asked her voice loud and rude.
"Nothing. Nothing at all." Eve said standing up.
"Whatever. I’m out of here." Jasolyn said as she headed out of the huge home.
Eve shook her head as tears welled up in her eyes.

Flashback
"He loves me!" A young Eve yelled.
"Love? You think love matters to me? You will never have my son." The man in front of her laughed.
"He’ll walk away from you. He said he would and he will." Eve said forcing herself to smile. "We are going to be a family."
"You are going to be nothing with my son. Nothing but a bad memory. " Alistar told her.
"We belong together, Not even you can change that." Eve said standing strong. "We are having a child and we will raise it together."
"Never. It will never happen."
"But it will. Julian and I are in love. You can’t stop us from loving each other."
"Just watch me."

Eve felt a shiver run down her back. The words repeated themselves in her brain ‘Just watch me’
She shuddered as she realized it was just a memory, just more pain from the past. Standing up Eve brushed the tears from her eyes. "You let him Julian, you let him." She whispered as she headed toward Julian’s office.

Jasolyn Crane stood outside her father’s house. Her mind going back to the look’s her father and Eve Russell had been giving each other. Something wasn’t right there. Eve was a smart one, she’d at least give her that much. But she knew she would be a problem. This new family her father had found bothered her. First her aunt had married this Luis man, then she had found out that she had this new brother and he was marrying her half brother’s ex. Little Miss Theresa was a gold digger no doubt, but she could handle her. She could even take Chad Harris on if she needed to. Whatever it took to prevent them from taking one dime of her money. But Eve Russell? She was a different story. Jasolyn got a notepad from her purse and took out her Cell Phone. Dialing a number she waited until she heard a voice on the other end.
"Hello, is This T.C. Russell? Yes I’m just calling because I believe it’s time you made a trip back to Harmony. " Jasolyn smirked. "Who am I? That doesn’t really matter. What does matter is that Julian Crane is becoming very friendly with your Ex Wife. " That was all it took as Jasolyn hung up the phone hearing T.C. screaming on the other end.
She let out a laugh and crossed her arms. "Sorry daddy. But I’m doing what has to be done." She said as she headed off the Crane walkway.
