Nicholas paced back and forth up the side walk of the hospital trying to cool down. He can’t believe that Ethan had the nerve to speak to him that way. He did care for his mother, their relationship just was not as strong as it should have been.
 

“And whose fault is that?” Nicholas asked talking out loud. “Not mine, she is the one who slaughtered Ethan with all that attention, so how was I supposed to be feel? What, that I should just forgive her and play the goody son and step into the shadows again, yea right.” He stated. But when he first saw her tonight. On the floor, so lifelessly and pale, God knows that he wanted to break, and run to her and cry over. Even after all the hell she’d put him through he was still like a little boy, dying for his mothers affection.

“Damn her!” He cursed angrily kicking over one of the public trash cans.
 

“You know the city actually has to pick that up.” A voice from behind him caused him to turn and see his brothers lovely fiance.

“What do you want?” Nicholas spat out nastily.

Theresa smiled some. “I just wanted to check and see if you were okay.” She stated. “I know this must be any thing but easy for you.”

“Well it’s no picnic but I’m dealing.” Nicholas informed, he then looked back at her. “Shouldn’t you be with Ethan?” He asked. “I mean Heaven forbid he come out here and see me with his lovely fiance and go off the deep end then I’d really have to kick his ass.”

“Ethan is having a hard time right now Nicholas.” Theresa stated. “He loves his mother very much, they are really close.”
 

“Until you cam along.” Nicholas stated. “It seems like before you, every thing was normal. Or as normal as every thing could be with the Cranes. I’m pretty sure that my mother would still be walking, and still be Mrs. Crane, I’m sure Ethan would still be a Crane and he and Gwen would be married probably already with a child. I am also sure that my Aunt would not be engaged to two brothers, or have lost her memory or this other stuff.”

Theresa tensed some. “I am very well aware of all I did, and I don’t need you to remind me.” She stated.

Nicholas shrugged. “Easy love,” He stated. “I’m not blaming you, I’m just stating facts. Ethan may love you, but a lot of things would be different if not for you.”

Theresa nodded her head. “Yes, they would.” She stated. “But I believe strongly in fate, and I just know that Ethan and I are meant to be together, so does God.”

Nicholas smirked some. “Boy was mother right about you.” He stated.

“Excuse me?” Theresa questioned. “When did Ivy ever talk to me about you?” She asked.

“She would write me in London.” Nicholas stated. “At first she sung your praises. In fact she was just like you saying that you coming into Ethan’s life seems to be the best thing for him, and that the two of you would be together forever.”

Theresa smiled some. “She said that?” She asked.

Nicholas nodded his head. “Then one day I got one and....well let’s just say her undying praise turned to undying rage.”

Theresa sighed heavily. “That must have been after the tabloid scandal.” She stated. “If not for that one viscous lie my life, Ethan’s and your mother’s would be happy today.”

“Well, not every one gets their happily ever after Cinderella.” Nicholas stated.

“Oh but I will.” Theresa stated. “Ethan is going to marry me, and we will live happily ever after.”

Nicholas smirked. “Your a good kid.” He stated. “Almost too good for Ethan.” He said walking off back in the direction of the hospital. Leaving Theresa behind to watch him as he walked away.

Ethan looked at Gwen not believing what he had just heard. “You...you're pregnant.” He echoed her words. “With my child.”

Gwen nodded her head. “Ethan I know your in shock.” She stated. “That’s why I didn’t want to tell you now, with every thing that has happened to your mother, and with your brother. I didn’t want you to know.”

“I....I just can believe it.” Ethan said his shock still high.

“Well it’s true Ethan.” Gwen stated. “Remember the test doctor Russell wanted me to take. Well one of the test was a pregnancy test, and I took it and it said that I am pregnant.”

“Oh my God.” Ethan said running his hands through his hair. “You're having my baby.”

“Now, I know this is a surprise Ethan but it doe snot have to change any thing.” Gwen stated. “I still plan to move to New York, and you can still see the baby. Every thing can work out fine.” She stated.

“Wait, you still plan to go to New York?” Ethan asked surprised. “Gwen how will I see my child.”
 

“Ethan you can come visit any time you want.” Gwen stated. “Money is no object of course, I mean I will always have the Hotchkiss name, and this job will just add on to that. I would be happy to finance your flight.”

“But Gwen, New York.” Ethan stated. “I’ll miss so much of the baby’s life. You can’t move now.”
 

Gwen nodded her head. “Yes I can, and I will.” She stated. “Ethan there is nothing here for me in Harmony. I have to leave, I am going to leave.”

“Gwen this won’t just affect you.” Ethan stated some what surprised she was actually thinking of leaving with his child.”

“Ethan I am very much aware of that.” Gwen stated. “And the last thing that I want to do is keep you from your child, but I can’t stay in Harmony. Not any more.”

“Because of me and Theresa?” Ethan asked.

Gwen shook her head. “It’s other things too.” She stated. “Personally things.”

“Well if it is going to effect you having my child I think I deserve to know!” Ethan yelled surprising her.

Gwen some what looked at the occupants in the hospital looked at them. “Ethan this isn’t the place to talk about this.” She stated. “I think may be you nee time to cool down.”

“Not until you tell me why your leaving Harmony.” Ethan stated firmly.

Before Gwen could say any thing, Sam approached. “Is every thing okay over here?” He asked.

Gwen smiled politely. “Yes, Sam it’s...”

“No it’s not.” Ethan stated.

Sam looked from Gwen to Ethan and could see that some thing big had just happened. He could tell by the look in Gwen’s eyes. “Why doesn’t some one tell me what’s up?” He asked.

“Fine.” Ethan stated. “Gwen just informed me that she is pregnant with my child, but she still plans to leave Harmony and move to New York.”

At this point, most every one in the waiting room was listening intently to Ethan, Sam and Gwen, however, there was one person Ethan didn’t count on hearing the news. “What.” Every one turned when they heard her voice fall on their ears.

“Theresa.” Ethan said in shock.

Theresa looked at Ethan tear sin her eyes. “What did you just say?” She asked.

Ethan sighed heavily. “Oh God, I didn’t mean for you to hear.”

Theresa shook her head. “No, it’s a lie.” She stated marching up to Gwen and grabbing her arm forcefully. “Your lying to try and steal Ethan away from me you bitch!”

“Theresa!” Ethan said surprised.

Gwen took in her calming breath. “Theresa, you take your damn hands off of me right now.” She ordered.

“Not until you tell every one that you are lying to steal Ethan from me!” Theresa demanded.

Rebecca quickly marched over to Theresa and yanked her hands off of Gwen. “You keep your hands off my daughter you little bimbo.” She snapped.

Ethan stepped forward. “Rebecca this has nothing to do with you.” He stated. “Stay out of it.”

“The hell I will.” Rebecca shot back. “I don’t give a damn what you feel about Theresa, but I will not have that little slut putting her hands of my child, or speaking to her like that.”

“You will not speak to my daughter that way!” Pilar said approaching the scene.

Sam seeing that things were getting to tense stepped between the two feuding mothers and daughters. “Alright people now that’s enough.” He stated. “This is not the place nor the time.”

Gwen nodded her head. “He’s right.” She stated. “I have a plane to catch.” She stated gathering her purse and jacket.

Theresa looked at Gwen surprised. “What?” She questioned. “You're still planning to move to New York?” She asked.

Gwen narrowed her eyes. “Not that it is any of your damn business but yes I am.” She stated. “See I know what you thought. That just because I was pregnant I would stay and use my child to try and get Ethan back, well news flash Theresa, not every one is like you. I would never use an innocent child as leverage to get what I want, but every one in here, family or not knows that that is exactly what you would do, and you have done. Now if you’ll excuse me.” She said turning on her heel and storming out of the hospital.

“Gwen wait!” Ethan called after her, but she hand already rounded the corner. “Damn it!” He cursed.

Eve stepped out of Ivy’s hospital bedroom, her face a mixture of confusion and relief. “Doctor Russell.” Nicholas approached her causing every one to look back to her. “Is there any change at all.”

Eve looked up at him. “Yes.” She stated in an unreadable tone. “Yes there is.” She stated.

Ethan approached her . “What is it?” He asked. “Is it some thing worse?”

Eve shook her head. “No.” She stated. “In fact I think that what just happened may change every thing.”

“Eve what do you mean?” Sam asked hope shinning in his eyes.

“Well I don’t know,” Eve began. “But Ivy....she....she’s better.” She stated.

“Better how?” Ethan asked.

“Well her heart is functioning again.” She stated. “And so is her brain.”
 

“What?” Pilar asked surprised. “How is that possible Eve?” She asked.
 

“I have no idea Pilar.” Eve answered. “On minute I was preparing to come in here and tell Ethan that he and his sisters and brother should decide on whether they wanted to take her off life support, and the next...Ivy’s hand moved.”
 

“It moved?” Theresa asked surprised.

Eve nodded her head. “Yes.” She answered. “And then her heart monitor start beeping as a regular heart would and the waves in her brain were functioning properly...it was like... a miracle.”

“So she’s okay then?” Nicholas asked.

“Well she still lost a lot of blood.” Eve informed. “And is still very weak, and is most likely to be in more pain than usual, but...besides all that, as far as I can tell. Ivy is going to live.”

“Oh thank God.” Ethan said letting out a much needed breath as his father embraced him. “It’s a miracle dad.” He stated. “It’s a miracle.”

Nicholas smirked some as his aunt approached him. “I have got to say I have had some strange welcome homes, but this one takes the cake.” He said smiling at his aunt.

“Are you okay?” Sheridan asked.

“Five by Five.” Nicholas stated. “You know me.”

“Eve, can we see her?” Sheridan asked turning to her.

“Well she’s still asleep.” Eve answered. “And probably will be until later on tomorrow, but I don’t see why not.” She stated.

Grace watched as Sam embraced Ethan once more, and waked in to Ivy’s cubical with Ethan, Nicholas and Sheridan without giving her a second look. “Grace,” David Hastings, who was there approached her. ‘Are you okay.”

Grace looked to the man she believed was her husband. “I just want to go home.” She stated. “Can you...”

“Of course.” David stated as he encircled her in a hug and looked towards Ivy’s cubical. ‘Well Ivy, I think you might have finally done it without even knowing.’ He thought to himself. ‘You may have finally torn Sam and Grace apart.’
