" What have you done, Alan?"
Alan dropped his glass as he spun around to find Justus there.
" Justus. What are you doing here? I thought you were with the family."
" I guess that's obvious to me. Alan, you hands are quivering. And your eyes are glazed. Are you HIGH?"
" I don't know what you mean."
" The hell you don't. You're as high as a kite. What are you on?" Justus frisks Alan, and finds several bottles of pills.
" Justus. Please. There for patients of mine."
" And you just happen to have them filled at a pharmacy out of town? How long does a stash like this last you, Alan."
" That's not important. I think I may have made a big mistake tonight."
" What kind of a mistake."
" I might have hurt someone."
" And you don't KNOW?"
" I can't be sure."
" Alright. Tell me, as best you can, in your drug haze, what you remember."
" I think, while I was looking for my pills, that I may have run someone off the road."
" But, you don't know."
" No. But, I think I sorta remember a car, maybe."
" THINK? SORTA REMEMBER? MAYBE? Come on, Alan. What the hell! Either there was a car or there wasn't. "
" I don't know. For sure. But, I remember broken railing in my rearview mirror."
" Alright. Getting anything out of you is useless with you in this condition. Were you aware enough to know WHERE you were driving?"
" Yes. Why?"
" Because, I'm going to go back there, and see if there's anything to this story."
" What are you going to do?"
" If I get there and find a crashed car? Try and help. Get away from the booze and get upstairs. Make sure you're asleep by the time Monica and the rest of the clan get back. We'll talk later."
" Thank you, Justus."
" Don't thank me, Alan. Not yet."
" Why are you helping me? It's usually Ned who handles the messy situations."
" We're family."
Justus leaves Alan alone with his little friends.

As Justus is approaching where Alan said he was, he could already see the flashing lights. He stopped his car and approached the small crowd of people.
" What happened here?"
" There's a car down there."
" Do they know who it is or how it happened?"
" Nope. Well, that guy over there, says he saw a car drive over in the lane and that car down there swerved to avoid it and went off and crashed."
" Did he see who was driving the other car?"
" Nope. He said he just saw the tail end of it, he was just coming round that bend." Justus followed as the woman pointed off to the furthest turn far away from the crash sight. It would be practically impossible for anyone to even be sure of the color of the car from that distance, let alone make, model, license plate number or driver identification. Plus, the man looked over 70, which also would work in Alan's favor.
" So, how long have the emergency people been working on the car?"
" Oh. 'Bout close to an hour, now. They have to cut it with a saw. See?"
For the first time, Justus peered over a looked at the crash sight. The firemen were indeed trying to drill into the car, as they were trying to get the injured passenger inside. Justus saw the ambulance there.
" Is all they have is this ambulance? Where is the nearest hospital? "
" About 15 miles from here."
" That's ridiculous." Justus walks away and pops his cell phone he calls. " General Hospital, Amy Vining speaking."
" Amy. This is Justus Ward. I need to speak to Audrey Hardy."
" She's right here, Justus. Let me put her on."
" Justus? It's Audrey Hardy."
" Audrey. I am out on Route 10, about halfway between Loxmill and Pouwny. There has been a terrible accident. I would like for the GH Medical Helicopter to be sent. Whoever this is, if they're still alive, won't be for long, if they have to depend upon the hospital out here."
" I don't know...Justus. You know the territorial rules."
" Audrey. You don't seem to understand. I am not asking you. I am telling you. My Uncle is the Chief of Staff, my Aunt the Head of Cardiology and my Grandfather is the Chairman of the Hospital Board. I expect for the Chopper and the best doctor available to be sent. If you have a problem with that, take it up with them. Am I understood?"
" Fine. If there are problems, Justus, I will send them to you. Consider the chopper on its way."
" Thank you." Justus hangs up the phone.
Audrey pages Frank and Joe Scanlon and explains the situation to them. After they leave on their way, she tries to page Alan, but to no avail. She'll talk to him later about Justus giving such orders.
The crowd had grown. And there was even a camera crew there. Justus did his best to avoid being in the view of the camera. He heard the radio of one of the emergency workers. They had told there co-workers up above that the firemen believed that they would be through to the driver in less than 10 minutes.
" Where is that damn chopper?", Justus muttered to himself.
Just as they were about to get to Sasha, Justus heard and saw the Helicopter in the distance. He decided that he could best control this situation if he were at GH when the victim came in. So, he left.
The chopper landed. And Frank and Joe explained what they were doing there.
" So, tell me about the crash victim.", Joe asked.
" She's been completely unconscious since we've been trying to get her out. And that's been well over 90 minutes.", one of the firefighters told him.
" How do you know that she's alive?"
" We don't. It's just a hope."
"WE'RE IN!!!" The firefighters screamed as they finally got to Sasha.
As Joe and Frank approached her with the medical equipment.
" Oh my God.", Frank said.
" You know her?"
" Yes. I treated her before. Well, Let's go."
It took sometime before they got Sasha on the stretcher. They had to
make sure that her neck brace was on and that it was a secure. The firefighters
helped get her to the chopper and they were off to GH.
Once in the chopper, Joe radioed in the following:
" This it the GH Medivac Chopper. We have a car accident victim.
Female. Mid-20's. She's been unconscious for at least 90 minutes. There
is a faint pulse. From the wreck that we found her, prepare for MRI, CAT
scan, X-Rays. I believe that there is serious internal bleeding going on.
Have the blood bank ready. Our estimated time of arrival should be less
than 15 minutes. Please alert Tony Jones, and Felix Arnaught that they
will probably be needed. Joe Scanlon out."
" So, you think she's gonna make it?", Frank asked.
" It would be a miracle."

Bobbie is awaiting the chopper as soon as it lands. With the other
Medical Personnel.
" Oh My God. Sasha!! Joe, how is she?"
" It's bad, Bobbie. If you know her family. You should get them."
Bobbie runs along side of Sasha's gurney and follows them into the trauma
unit. She sees what they are doing. She decides to go and inform the Cassadines.
