Nikolas is in the Pediatric Playroom playing checkers with Emily, who had decided to ditch the family and spend the night with Nikolas. When Bobbie came into the room, the look on her face spoke volumes.

" Bobbie, what's wrong? Is it Lucas?"

" No, Nikolas. Sasha."

" Sasha?"

" There was a car accident."

" Where is she Bobbie?"

" She's being taken care of right now."

" Does Uncle know?"

" I've tried getting to him. I want YOU to find Alexis. She should know. Emily, will you stay with Nikolas?"

" Yes. " Bobbie leaves. Emily goes over to Nikolas. " Nikolas, we have to find your cousin. I'll try Ned's first." Emily goes over to the phone and dials Ned's number. The phone clicks over when it does when Ned has had his calls forwarded somewhere else.

" Ashton."

" Ned. It's Emily. Is Alexis Davis with you by any chance?"

" Yes. She is."

" Nikolas. I found her."

" Alexis Davis."

" Alexis. It's Nikolas. You need to come to GH."

" What's wrong, Nikolas. "

" It's Sasha. She's been hurt."

" I'll be there as soon as possible. Does Stefan know?"

" Bobbie is telling him."

" Well, you tell Mr. Cassadine, that this is MRS. CASSADINE. And IF you value your job, you will get him on the phone, PRONTO!!"

Ralston, didn't know what to do. He had never heard such fury from Mrs. Cassadine before. But, he had his order from Mr. Cassadine, who was otherwise engaged with his mistress. He decided to tempt fate. He is outside of Stefan's door. " Mr. Cassadine. The Phone is for you. It's Mrs. Cassadine. It's the third time she's called, sir. She insists on speaking with you."

" Barbara, what do you want?"

" What I want and why I called are two different things. You need to come to General Hospital immediately, Stefan."

" Why? Barbara, what's wrong?"

" It's Sasha. She's been in a car accident. Hurry Stefan."

Bobbie couldn't even get the words out when she heard the click of the phone.

" What's wrong, Stefan?"

" My daughter is hurt. My daughter is hurt, and I am here, in bed, with you. I have to go."

Bobbie is about to go into check on Sasha when Justus gets off the elevator.

" Bobbie. I'm glad to see you. They brought in someone. A car crash victim on the Medical Chopper. I wanted to see how they were. Do you know how they are? Or who it is?"

" I don't know the extent of the injuries, but I do know who it is. It's Sasha Cassadine."

" SASHA?!?"

" Justus, I have to go. I will be out later." Bobbie rushes to the Trauma just in time to see them wheel Sasha out for surgery. She decides to follow the team, scrub and observe.

Justus is reeling at the news. He is standing there, dazed, when Nikolas and Emily come up.

" So, Justus, you heard?"

" Yes. Emily. Nikolas. This is so odd."

" Odd, how?"

" I was the one who called for the Medivac Chopper, Nikolas. I had no idea it was Sasha. You couldn't even recognize the car. I'm sorry."

" No need for you to be sorry. Do they know what happened? Sasha is an extra careful driver, because she doesn’t do it that often. I just can't see her taking reckless chances with herself, like that. Especially on curvy roads like that."

" What was she doing on that road to begin with, Nikolas?"

" She was on her way to the Cassadine retreat."

" Well, there was one eye witness, from what little information that I got at the crash site, that thought they saw a car come into Sasha's lane, and she swerved to get out of the way."

" So, what did the other driver have to say?"

" The other driver said nothing."

" Why?"

" Because, there was no other driver by the time people arrived on the crash site."

" You mean someone ran Nikolas' cousin off the road, and didn't even have the decency to stick around to see if they were alive, or not?"

" That's how it looks Emily."

" What a complete coward. What a jerk!"

At this point, Alexis and Ned are getting off the elevator. Alexis rushes over to Nikolas.

" Nikolas, is there any word?"

" No, Alexis."

" Where is your Uncle?"

" I assume on his way. Bobbie got in touch with him."

" Justus, how did you get here so fast?"

" Actually, it's just by chance. Let me fill you both in."

Justus took Ned and Alexis over to a corner, where he told them the story of finding the accident site and calling for the chopper. He was at the tail end of his story when he saw Stefan and Katherine get off the elevator. Stefan hurried over to the desk.

" I was told that my daughter was brought in here. Anastasia Cassadine. I DEMAND to know what's going on with her!"

" Uncle."

" Nikolas. Have you heard anything about Katya?"

" No. Bobbie went in awhile ago, but nothing."

Alexis came up to Stefan.

" I came as soon as I heard."

" What is Justus Ward doing here."

" He probably saved Sasha's life, Uncle."

" Oh? How?"

" By ordering the Medivac for the crash victim. I didn't know that it was Sasha, Stefan."

" Well, then, I thank you, Mr. Ward."

" No problem."

" Stefan, I think that all we can do it wait. Come on over here.", Alexis asks.

After they have been sitting for  over a couple of hours, they see Detective Garcia get off the elevator with another uniformed member of law enforcement, and they come towards Stefan.

" Mr. Cassadine."

" Detective Garcia."

" Mr. Cassadine, this is Sheriff Skerrit. He runs the jurisdiction where your daughter's car went off the road."

" So, Sherriff, what can you tell me about my daughter's accident."

" Well, from the one eye witness that we have, it was no accident. Someone came into her lane. She swerved, and crashed through the rail. Now, up until that time, it was an accident, but, when the other car didn't even slow down, or stop to look and check after your daughter, no, we classify it now, as a hit and run."

" Are you telling me, that the person who did this to my daughter, didn't have the decency to stop and check on her? That they left her on the side of the road, to die?"

" That's what I am saying."

" Do you have any leads?"

" No. The driver was so far away, and he's pretty up there in years, that outside of the general description of the accident, we have no idea, what kind of car, or who we're looking for."

" Detective Garcia, what's your role in this."

" The PCPD has decided to help our neighbors in a joint investigation. I have sent our best forensics team out there to see what evidence we could gather."

" Could gather? That's all? What about the person who did this?"

" Mr. Cassadine, the process of police work is slow and painful."

" All I hear is doublespeak from you, Detective."

" I thought I spoke quite clearly. I fully intend to find out who ran your daughter off the road and left her there. But, I will be sure, when I go to arrest the perpetrator. I'll make certain of that. Now, Sheriff Skerritt and I have told you what we know. If you'll excuse us..."

Garcia saw that Stefan wasn't even listening to him. He turned and saw Bobbie Spencer and another person, who he assumed to be the doctor, coming towards Stefan.

" Barbara..."

" Stefan, This is Dr. Hiroshi, Sasha's doctor."

" Mr. Cassadine."

" Doctor. How is my daughter."

" I will not sugar coat things for you, Mr. Cassadine. You daughter suffered multiple internal injuries due to the crash. Because she just recently recovered from another accident, her body was hardly prepared for the assault that she took. The only thing miraculous is that she only has one broken limb: an arm. But, it is the internal damage that was severe. The bleeding was excessive, Mr. Cassadine. "

" The bottom line, Doctor."

" Your daughter has cracked ribs, a punctured lung, a spleen that had to be removed. Hemorrhaging took place. The odds for survival are not in her favor.  She has been unconscious sense the accident took place. We have not even had time, nor the opportunity, to assess any neurological damage. For now, though, the basic that we can say, is that she is in a coma. The next 72 hours are critical. And even if she makes it then, there is nothing to assure us that she will be anything more than a vegetable. You wanted the bottom line, sir."

" Thank you, Doctor. When may I see her?"

" In just a few minutes. They will be bringing her into her own room in ICU. If you need for me to answer anymore questions, I will be attending to your daughter's case very closely for the next 72 hours. So, page me. Mr. Cassadine." He extends his hand.

" Thank you, Doctor."

After the doctor leaves, Stefan goes to Bobbie.

" Barbara?"

" Stefan, they did everything that they could. Hiroshi is one of the best. Well, I am going to make sure that Sasha gets into her room. I'll see you in a few minutes."

" Thank you, Barbara."

Stefan turns to see Nikolas with tears welling in his eyes.

" Uncle...", was all Nikolas could say , barely above a whisper.

Stefan went over to Nikolas and held the boy in his arms.

" She's going to be fine, Nikolas. She HAS  to be. She would never leave us."
