Bring On The Rain Ch.5 sequel to Somehow I Will

She stared out the window, down at the cars as they passed by. She had to take a break from her life, she needed to breath, slow down. Her short brown hair fell against her face as she sat down in floor of the upstairs office. Kay Bennett lowered her head as she realized life was too complicated. She had left the kids with her sister and the Crane boys, and she fled the room for her own time out. It was moments of stress that she missed Tarren the most. Days when the world seemed to be closing in, that she wanted to reach out and touch him. They had met around the time Miguel was becoming caught up in Gwen. She felt alone and he was there at the Book Café making jokes about her tough attitude. "Your just a innocent angel at heart", He’d tease. "A real softy."

Every now and then soft as breath upon my skin
I feel you come back again
And it's like you haven't been gone a moment from my side
Like the tears were never cried
Like the hands of time are holding you and me
And with all my heart I'm sure we're closer than we ever were
I don't have to hear or see, I've got all the proof I need
There are more than angels watching over me
I believe, I believe

"I hate this." She whispered looking upward as she wrapped her arms around herself. "I hate hurting." Closing her eyes she could still see Tarren’s face, his goofy grin and his beautiful eyes. When the doctor told him he had cancer, he accepted it. She begged him to fight, and he did. He fought with all he had in him, but toward the end he was weak. "Let me go Kay." He whispered to her. She had asked him to marry her, but he refused. "I won’t allow you to be a widow." He told her. "Not at your age." He was simply too proud to do something like that. Instead he kissed her hand and told her she would love again. "Liar." She whimpered as tears fell down her face. "How can I love another man?"

That when you die your life goes on
It doesn't end here when you're gone
Every soul is filled with light
It never ends and if I'm right
Our love can even reach across eternity
I believe, I believe

"Don’t torment yourself with the past." Her mother had whispered to her. Kay refused to listen however, because her mother didn’t understand. No one knew how she felt, what it was like to wake up every morning and find that a piece of you was still missing. Working for the Cranes had at least helped her some, but today, today they were fearing for their safety. She had saw the fear in the children’s eyes, but what scared her most was the fear in the eyes of Julian Crane. A man so strong, was weakened at the thought of what his father could do. Today she couldn’t be strong, Tarren had made her strong in the past, but today she knew she was breaking down.

Forever, you're a part of me
Forever, in the heart of me
And I'll hold you even longer if I can
The people who don't see the most
Say that I believe in ghosts
And if that makes me crazy, then I am
'Cause I believe

Standing up she felt her legs go weak as the door to the office opened. Her vision was blurred as she saw a figure walk toward her. Wiping her eyes she cried silently as she realize who was standing in front of her, arms stretched wide.
"Daddy." She whimpered as she fell into Sam’s arm, her head resting against him as she sobbed. "Daddy I miss him." She cried.
"I know baby." Sam soothed. "I know."
"Make the pain stop daddy, please make it stop." She begged as her father pulled her closer.
"I can’t baby, I wish I could but I can’t."
Looking up at her father Kay frowned. "Will I ever love again?" She questioned her voice shaking.
"Yes Kay you will." Sam smiled wiping her tears. "You will love again."

There are more than angels watching over me
I believe, I believe

Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald sighed as he looked over at the picture next to his lamp. He couldn’t remember a time when he didn’t love the sweet smile that smiled back at him from the photo. "Gwen, why can’t you just say yes?" He questioned the photo. "I just want to be your husband."
Lowering his eyes he looked at his watch. Gwen had begged him to come to her office. She said she needed him there with Alistair on the loose. As much as Miguel wanted to go, something about that place unsettled him. He had no problem with Gwen’s job, he knew she deserved it. His problem went much deeper, it was the stares he got from the men she worked with. Miguel was just ‘that teacher the VP dates’. The rich lady’s boy toy, that was how the people that worked with Gwen saw him. A knock at his door pulled him away from his thoughts. Slowly walking to the door he opened it, his mouth falling open as he took a step back.
"Charity." He swallowed.
Charity Standish stood in front of him, in tight black pants and a low cut white shirt. "Miguel, hi." She smiled sweetly, though her face wore much more makeup than he remembered. She had matured since she left Harmony, her girlish figure gone, and in replace, a very sexy woman.
"Kay told me you were in town." He smiled as she entered the house shutting the door behind her.
"Yes and I’m sure she told you much more than that didn’t she?" Charity asked batting her eyes at him. "She still doesn’t like me does she? And here I thought the time away would help."
"Kay has been through a lot Charity. She lost the man she loved a couple years back."
"Yes, quite a shame that was." Charity spoke frowning. "You look well however." She spoke quickly smiling again. "You’re a real man now, its amazing."
"Amazing?" Miguel questioned.
"Yeah, your looks have increased with age Miguel, and trust me you looked great before." She grinned.
"Uh yeah, thanks." Miguel gulped. "Gwen said I needed to get out of my Opie Taylor phase." He laughed. "I was so naïve back then."
"Opie Taylor? Oh you’ve never been Opie Taylor, Miguel."
Miguel frowned. Kay had been right, Charity was standing in front of him, a different woman, a woman who seemed to be hitting on him. "Charity, I really hate to do this, but Gwen wanted me to come to her office. I should be going."
"But I just got here." Charity frowned touching Miguel’s arm. "Your not kicking me out now are you?" She asked in a low voice.
"You can come over again sometime, maybe meet Gwen?" Miguel questioned.
"Gwen." Charity sighed. "Do you really love her Miguel?"
"With everything in me." He nodded crossing his arms. "She is my soul mate."
"You believe in those?" Charity laughed. "You sound like your sister."
"My sister found her soul mate as well." Miguel spoke. "And one day you will find yours."
Charity rolled her eyes. "I just can’t believe you and Gwen Hotchkiss are really in love."
"We’ve been together for years Charity, why is it so hard to believe?" Miguel asked his eyes going to his watch.
"Because Miguel, we belong together, and I’m going to prove it to you." Stepping closer to Miguel, a smile spread across Charity’s face.
Miguel frowned as he took a step back. "No Charity. I’m going to see Gwen right now, and your going to go home and take a cold shower." He frowned. "Kay’s right, you’ve changed and I’m afraid I don’t like what I see."
"I guess I’m just going to have to work harder." Charity smiled. "Because I came back to Harmony with a purpose Miguel, and that purpose is you."

Julian Crane walked outside of the Crane building holding Kendra’s hand. "Are you sure you left your book in the car?" He questioned.
"Yes and I need it." Kendra frowned. "Its so boring in there."
Julian smiled down at the little girl. "Are you sure you didn’t just want to get fresh air?"
Kendra lowered her head. "Well maybe." She grinned. "But its boring being stuck in that daycare. "
"I’m sure it is my darling." Julian frowned. "But soon you won’t have to worry about that."
"Aunt Resa said your father was out of the hospital. He’s crazy right?" She questioned.
Julian smirked at the eight year old. "Crazy isn’t the right word Kenji dear. He’s very sick however."
Bending down he looked into his niece’s big brown eyes. "But you know no one in this family will let anything bad happen to you or the other children."
"I know, ‘cause us Cranes stick together right?" She grinned. "That’s what Jonah says."
"Well my boy is right." Julian smiled placing a kiss on Kendra’s forehead.

Out of the shadows, the figure that had been creeping around town suddenly loomed heading toward his target, his eyes never leaving Kendra or Julian.
"Get your hands off her right now!" His deep voice boomed from behind Julian as two strong arms knocked him to the ground. A scream came from Kendra just as a fist came pounding down on Julian’s face. Thinking only of Kendra, Julian tried to shove the man away praying his niece would be safe.
"Stop please!" Julian shouted using all the strength he had to knock his attacker off of him. Suddenly he was on top of the man bracing him down as he let out a heavy gasp. "Oh my.." His voice trailed as he blinked wiping blood from his face. "It can’t be? Can it?" As a pair of familiar eyes stared up at him, Julian spoke the one word that would change all of Harmony forever. "Luis?"
