Charity Standish smiled into the mirror as she brushed the ruby lipstick
across her lips. The girl in pastel pink had disappeared long ago and she
finally felt a freedom of her very own. Looking over at the clothes she
had laid out she frowned. "Perhaps this is just a little too much." She
sighed as she walked over and touched the deep blue leather skirt and its
matching strapless shirt. Today she would go visit Miguel, and if she was
lucky it would be the start of something great. "Miguel still thinks of
me as innocent." She laughed. "Maybe I should tone it down a bit." Looking
in her bag she found a pair of black pants and smiled, grabbing a sleeveless
white shirt to go with them. "Perfect."
In her mind she knew a lot of things were in stake. When she left Harmony
she meant to start a new life for herself. College had been good for her,
it opened her eyes to new things. Soon out of college she got a job at
a top notch Real Estate Agency and that was where she had worked until
recently.
Looking at her watch she frowned, grabbing her cell phone she quickly
dialed a number and smiled when her best friend answered.
"Heather." She spoke. "How is everything? Is Fay around? Can you put
her on the phone?"
"Helwo?" A voice giggled into the phone.
"Fay baby." Charity smiled.
"Mommy!" The voice on the other end giggled. "Mommy, you coming home?"
"Not yet baby." Charity spoke. "Mommy has a few things to do."
"I miss you mommy!" The little girl cried.
"I miss you too sweetheart, but you have to be good for Aunt Heather.
Mommy hopes to have a big surprise for you when she gets back."
"A Present?" The three year old giggled.
"We’ll see. I love you Fay, tell Aunt Heather I said bye."
"Love you mommy!" Fay’s voice called out as Charity hung up the phone.
Taking a deep breath Charity looked in the mirror. "Don’t worry baby, mommy has a lot of big plans." She said forcing a smile. "Mommy’s going to get you a daddy, and she has the perfect man in mind."

Theresa Crane smiled as she lead her children to the Crane Daycare.
Micah was in one arm, Isaac in the other. Next to her hip Matt walked giggling
as he stuck his tiny hands in his new pair of blue jeans. Kendra and Jada
were laughing in front of her, as they entered the brightly colored room.
Kay Bennett looked up as she handed a small blue eyed girl a coloring book.
"Kay!" Jada called out.
Kay smiled walking over to them. "I see you brought the whole bunch
today." She laughed taking Micah from Theresa as she sat Isaac down.
Theresa nodded her head. "I have a meeting at Kendra’s school."
Kendra wrinkled her nose. "I got a mean teacher." She explained with
huge brown eyes shining up at Kay. "She hates me!"
"Kenji!" Theresa spoke. "She doesn’t hate you. She hasn’t even had
you in her class yet."
"I don’t have to be in her class do I? Daddy, um I mean Chad said I
didn’t have to have her!"
Theresa smiled and wrapped a tight arm around Kendra. "I’m going to
do my best, but I can’t make any promises." Leaning down she kissed Kendra’s
forehead. "Now why don’t you go play?"
"When you get back can we get me some new shoes?" Jada asked.
Theresa nodded her head, "If I have time." She promised kissing Jada’s
forehead as well. "Now you two be good today!"
Nodding both girl’s ran off.
"So this teacher, why doesn’t she like Kendra?" Kay frowned.
"She’s a Crane." Theresa shrugged. "And Mrs. Franks hates the Cranes."
"Oh I see." Kay frowned. "So she’s judging a child? Isn’t that great?"
Theresa sighed. "Yeah, so I’m hoping I can talk the school into moving
Kendra into a different class."
Kay smiled. "I’m sure you can do it. You can do almost anything when
you put your mind to it. You got me this job didn’t you?"
Theresa nodded her head. "You’re good with children, you deserved it."
Moving her hair off her shoulder Theresa smiled. "I better round of
kisses from my kids and go. I’ll see you soon."

Theresa walked swiftly to the elevator as two arms caught her from behind.
A smile tugged on her lips as she took in a familiar scent and turned around.
"Chad." She laughed wrapping her arms around her husband’s neck. "I thought
you had a meeting with your father this morning."
"It just ended." Chad frowned. "And the news wasn’t good."
Theresa’s smile disappeared. "What’s wrong?" She asked quickly as Chad
pulled her to a small corner.
"Dad had to tell me some very bad news Resa. I’m afraid you’re not
going to like it."
"Baby what’s going on?" Theresa questioned. "What’s happened?"
"My grandfather has escaped T." Chad whispered. "He somehow got out
of the mental ward at the hospital."
"No." Theresa spoke shaking her head quickly. "No Chad."
"I’m afraid its true." Chad answered back wrapping his arms back around
his wife. "Dad told me, Jonah and Justin just a little while ago."
Theresa’s eyes became large with fear. "The children." She gasp. "Oh
Chad, what about our babies?"
"Shhh." He whispered wrapping her up in his arms. "Crane security is
on alert, and Jonah and Justin are both going to be at the daycare today
with Kay. I also called Chief Bennett and he agreed to do a run by our
house and make sure things looked okay."
"Why is he out? What does he want? That man, he’s crazy, and angry."
She rambled. "Chad how can this be happening?"
Chad rested his hand on the back of Theresa’s head. "Baby we’re going
to be okay. Dad is doing everything he can. Ivy is here with him, and they
are calling everyone in danger."
"Where’s Ericka at? If your brothers and Ivy is here, where’s Ricki?"
Chad touched Theresa’s face. "She is with Taylor, they are safe, we
are all safe."
"But for how long Chad? How long will we be safe from that man?" Theresa
cried as she rested her head against her husband’s chest.

Beth Bennett smiled as she opened her front door. "Sam!" She spoke greeting
her Father-in-law. "I’m surprised to see you."
Sam smiled. "Well I came to see my beautiful granddaughter."
"She just woke up." Beth smiled. "After a very long nap."
"So she’s a lazy Bennett is she?" Sam teased. "Makes sense."
Beth walked over to a bassinet and picked the small infant up. "Helena
grandpa is here to see you." She cooed to the baby. "Yes he is."
"Actually I came to see both of you." Sam frowned. "Ethan asked me
to stop by."
"Sam is something wrong?" Beth questioned. "You looked worried."
"Actually, Ethan called from work. He wanted me to come by and check
on you and Helena."
Beth’s eyes lowered. "Now I know something’s wrong. Sam what is it?
What happened?"
"Alistar Crane escaped from the mental ward last night Beth. I’m afraid
we have no idea where he is."
Beth gasp, "He escaped?"
Sam nodded his head. "And I’m afraid he is considered dangerous. "
"But he wouldn’t come after Ethan, he isn’t even a Crane." Beth spoke
holding Helena closer to her.
"I’m afraid we don’t know that for sure. You never know what that man
is thinking or what he might do."
Beth’s face became pale. "So your saying we are in danger?"
"Ivy is still a Crane, and you and Ethan are very much part of that
family. " Sam frowned. "Ethan wants you to come to his office. The Crane
building has extra security and he would feel safer that way."
Beth nodded her head quickly. "So this is the price of being part of
the Crane family isn’t it?" She asked Sam. "This is what my life is like."
"I’m afraid so Beth." Sam frowned. "Now would you like me to drive
you? Because if I don’t I’m sure Ethan will be angry with me." He smiled.
"Yeah, let me get my things." Beth frowned as Sam took Helena from
her.
As Beth walked to her bedroom she let out a sigh. "I didn’t think it
would be this hard." She muttered to herself. "Ethan, I hope you know what
I’ve gave up for you. Now even my safety is at risk."

Eyes peered at the huge house on the hill. Toys lined the sidewalk,
a baseball bat sat next to the door. He could see a small bike sitting
near a old tree, and a small baseball hat hanging on the handle. On the
hunter green mailbox, ‘Chad and Theresa Crane’ was wrote in black.
"Soon." He whispered touching the letters on the mailbox, "Very, very
soon."
