The Start Of Something New
Julian Crane peeked down the stairs of his home. "They’ve all arrived."
He said turning to look at Martin and Ivy.
"Even Ethan?" Ivy questioned.
‘Yes Ethan is here as well. "
"Can I take a look?" Martin asked nervously.
"Yes Martin of course you can." Ivy smiled, though Julian appeared
lost in thought.
Martin looked down at the small crowd of people, He saw his son, smiling
down at a beautiful woman, He always knew Miguel would turn heads, and
it looked as if he had gotten himself a great girl. Then he saw his Theresa,
she was hugging Julian’s son, they made a lovely pair, they way the young
man looked at Theresa reminded him of himself years ago, when he would
stare into Pilar’s eyes.
Pilar.
She was simply stunning, his eyes suddenly went to her, in a long black
dress her hair hanging down. His wife was still the most beautiful woman
in the room.
"You have a lovely family." Ivy smiled looking at Martin.
"Yes I do. "
Julian looked at the two people standing with him. "Tonight will change
everything, its a new beginning for us all."
Ivy took Julian’s hand. "Sweetheart, you’re shaking."
Julian Crane nodded slowly. "Darling tonight I will expose our family
secret, tonight I will turn everything upside down. "
"You mustn’t think of it like that." Ivy frowned.
"Your wife is right. You are doing what is right." Martin said yet
his voice was still unsure.
"Am I really? Will everything really be all right after tonight?" Julian
frowned. "Because I fear the worst and can only hope for the best."

Gwen looked over at Theresa and frowned. "Something isn’t right here."
"What are you talking about? Its a lovely party."
"Party? Theresa, its just family." Gwen said looking around.
Frowning Theresa nodded. "Yeah I noticed that, why do you think that
is?"
Chad walked over and looked at the two, "Why the serious faces?"
"Gwen is worried that something isn’t right."
Chad nodded his head. "She’s right too. I ain’t seen my dad all night,
and its just us here, don’t ya think its a little weird? Plus I heard Ethan
tell Pilar, Ivy told him not to bring a date."
"That is very strange." Theresa sighed.
"It just doesn’t feel right, I don’t know what’s going on, but I have
this strange feeling." Gwen said crossing her arms.
Theresa swallowed. "Your not having one of those premonition things,
Charity Standish used to have are you? Because if you are, then maybe it
wasn’t Charity at all , maybe Miguel just causes women to go insane."
Gwen smiled slightly, "No, no, nothing like that. I assure you I’m
nothing like Miguel’s former girlfriend."
"Well that’s good to hear, cause that girl was nice and all but dang
she was weird." Chad sounded as Theresa gave him a warning look then burst
into laughter her own self.
"You two are terrible." Gwen grinned.
"Oh like you haven’t thought the same thing?" Theresa said jokingly.
"Well." Gwen began then smiled. "Well that doesn’t matter now does
it?"
"What doesn’t matter?" Miguel questioned walking over and slipping
his arm around Gwen’s waist.
"Um nothing." Theresa smiled.
"What are you talking about?" Miguel asked again.
"Gwen was having a premonition." Theresa smirked looking at her brother’s
face as he became confused and shocked.
"What? No way!"
"Yes Indeed I was." Gwen teased looking up at him.
"No see that can’t be possible. Your sane."
Gwen and Theresa both began to giggle like school girls. "Sane? Are
you saying Charity wasn’t?" Theresa asked.
"Uh well, she was just different. " He said then looked at Gwen, "Please
tell me you’re joking, I’m pleading here." He begged.
"Of course I am." Gwen smiled smacking him lightly on the arm.
A sigh of relief came from Miguel. "Oh thank goodness. Don’t ever scare
me like that again. I was starting to think something was wrong with ME."
Chad patted Miguel on the back. "These women were just having fun with
you dude. We were actually talking about how odd it is that the only people
here are family."
Miguel looked around. "I never noticed that."
"You never notice anything." Gwen joked.
"I noticed how stunningly handsome I was tonight when I looked in the
mirror. " He smirked at her. "And I also noticed that you couldn’t stop
staring at me, Not that I blame you of course."
"Well how did you catch me staring? You must have been watching me
as well." Gwen said as Miguel grinned.
"Uh well yeah." He laughed looking at her. "You look so sexy tonight
how could I not sneak a peek?"
Theresa rolled her eyes, "Are they not just the cutest little couple?"
She said to Chad.
"Totally."
"We are not a couple!" They both shouted at the same time.
"And look honey, they think just alike as well." Theresa said as they
both shook their heads at her.
"Why don’t we leave them alone for awhile?" Chad asked.
Theresa nodded. "I do need to go check on the kids."
"You’re mom said she’d take them upstairs."
"Then maybe I’ll go up and make sure things are good."
Chad kissed her forehead. "You worry too much girl."
Theresa nodded then glanced to see Ethan standing alone. "Chad, why
don’t you go speak to Ethan, he looks so alone."
Chad frowned. "Resa I don’t know."
"Baby its up to you, but I know how close you used to be, couldn’t
you at least talk to him?"
Chad smiled. "Yeah, I guess I could."

Pilar watched as Kendra and Jada played in the room Julian had made
for them, they looked so close, so happy. She held Matthew in her arms,
though he was fidgeting to get down.
How she wished Sheridan and Luis could be there to see these children,
to watch each new day they woke to. She thought about her mornings waking
up with Martin, Luis and Sheridan on her mind. She still missed her other
son, but these two they couldn’t come back, and Martin, though she longed
to see his face, she felt as though that would never happen either.
"If my daddy marries your Resa we get to be sisters." Jada giggled.
Kendra smiled, "We’d be in the same house too."
"Cool!" Jada said bouncing around the room.
Pilar smiled at the girls, how she prayed they would end up in the same
house, that her Theresa would one day marry Chad Harris. He was a good
man, a man that Martin would have approved of. She wanted happiness for
Theresa, because she had earned it. Her little girl was now grown, mothering
the children of her lost brother.
Kissing Matthew’s head Pilar frowned, Life had been cruel to them all,
perhaps now with Theresa finding happiness with Chad, and Miguel so close
to love with Gwen, their family might be able to smile again.
