Somehow I will Ch.46 ~ Talk It Out
by LilAngelGirl
"Miguel?" Gwen’s soft voice sounded as she entered the study. Miguel
had his head up against the wall, tears streaming down his usually tough
face.
"Don’t start with me Gwen." He pleaded, turning around to look at her,
wiping his eyes quickly with his hands.
"Miguel, I’m not going to start anything." She reasoned.
"You’re going to tell me I’m wrong." He frowned his eyes falling to
stare at the floor.
"Actually I was going to tell you how proud of you I was, and that
I totally don’t blame you for what you did tonight."
Miguel lifted his head, his eyes meeting Gwen’s, "Really? You’re not
mad?" He said his voice almost childish.
"Of course not." Gwen smiled walking over to where Miguel stood, reaching
her hand out to touch Miguel’s arm. "I understood."
"You did?"
She nodded her head. "You know, Sheridan always told me that Luis was
a protector, she would laugh and say that sometimes he reminded her of
a super hero. Coming to the rescue all the time, and always questioning
everyone. But she said she loved that about him, because under his cape,
he had a gentle soul, and he cared so much about everyone, sometimes he
even cared too much. I saw a lot of that in you tonight, I saw Luis in
your eyes, and I understood." She finished.
Miguel smiled slightly, his hand brushing Gwen’s cheek. "Luis was so
strong, he took care of everything, and I always looked up to him. I was
the weakest of all of us, Theresa was stronger than I was, before Ethan,
and I always wanted to be like my big brother." He laughed. "Tonight, when
I saw Papa, something just clicked inside of me. I couldn’t understand
how he could stay away. Luis risked his life for Sheridan all the time.
Why couldn’t Papa just simply leave a stupid note? Or place a phone call
after he was settled? Was that too much for him to do?" Miguel frowned.
"And just what was he doing all these years? He says he traveled, but does
he expect us to believe he was alone?"
"You think he cheated on your mother?" Gwen frowned.
"How can I really know for sure?"
"I guess you can’t."
" I just don’t want him to come in and hurt my family. We’ve been through
so much, and now we’re starting to see light again, I can’t take seeing
Mama or Theresa getting hurt. "
Gwen smiled up at Miguel, "You are the most incredible man I’ve ever
met." She sighed. "I am so amazed at you Miguel."
"Amazed? All I’m doing is watching out for my mother and sister. "
He smiled.
"Do you know how many guys would have drowned in their own pity? You
could have stayed with your friends, and let Theresa and Pilar deal with
things on their own, but you haven’t. Even tonight you’re still looking
out for them. "
"It’s my job." He spoke, his words simple and honest.
"It’s also your job to live your own life, go back to college, have
something of your own."
"How about someone of my own?" Miguel smiled wrapping his arms around
Gwen’s tiny waist, winking at her, though his eyes were still red from
his tears.
"Someday my little boy toy." She joked leaning up to kiss his lips
gently. "Someday."

"Kendra, you look just like your Aunt Theresa when she was little."
Martin smiled.
"Nope, I look like my daddy." Kendra said staring at the strange man
her grandma Pilar was sitting next to.
"Kenji, give Grandpa a hug." Theresa smiled.
The little girl slowly approached the man her Aunt had said was her
grandpa, and wrapped her tiny arms around him. "I love you Kendra." He
told her.
She smiled, "Daddy said you were lost."
Martin laughed, "Well I’m back now."
Kendra looked over at Jada and grinned, "Now we both got grandpa’s."
"Uh huh!" Jada giggled.
Theresa moved from Kendra over to Ivy, who was frowning. "You’re worried
about Ethan aren’t you?" She asked as Ivy nodded her head.
"What if my son does something he’ll regret?"
Theresa shook her head, "He hasn’t went anywhere." She smiled. "If
I know Ethan, he’s sitting outside right now."
"Are you sure?" Ivy questioned.
Theresa laughed. "I’m pretty sure, would you like me to go talk to
him?"
"Oh, Theresa that would be wonderful." Ivy said hugging Theresa.
Chad watched Theresa, his stomach flopping at the thought of her being
able to read Ethan so well still. He watched as she walked out the door
of the huge home and sighed. She loved him, not Ethan he told himself as
his little girl walked over and crawled up in his lap.

"Ethan?" Theresa said looking around the grounds.
"Theresa I’m right here." Ethan said, from a bench near the side of
the house.
"Your mother is very worried."
He frowned. "Worried I’ll tell what I know?" He asked, as she sat down
beside him.
"Ethan, Ivy loves you very much, and you know that, please go talk
to her."
Ethan shook his head. "I can’t." He frowned, then looked at Theresa,
"How did you know I was still here anyway?"
She sighed. "When we fought you always waited outside for me to come
running after you, and Sheridan told me once that you would do the same
with her and Ivy. So I just figured you’d be here."
Ethan laughed. "I suppose its rather childish of me, I just can never
leave when I’m angry."
Theresa shook her head, "You have a right to be angry, but Ethan you
also need to understand, Julian trusted you enough to tell you his secret."
"But he hurt me! Doesn’t he see that?"
"What’s that saying? Your often hurt the ones you love? Something like
that anyway, look Julian loves you, and he’s trying Ethan, but you have
to try too."
"He hurt me Theresa, how can I get over that?"
"The same way I got over you hurting me maybe?" She said staring him
in the eyes. "The same way Gwen has got over what we did to her? You just
let it go Ethan, it might seem hard but you have to, for the family."
"For the family?" He laughed bitterly. "The family that kicked me out
without thinking twice?"
"How about for your mother? The woman who has loved you more than anyone?
Or you brother and sisters? Just promise me you won’t go off telling people
about this."
Ethan sighed. "I’ll keep my mouth shut, but only because of my mother,
and Sheridan."
Theresa smiled. "Thank you so much."
Ethan frowned. "I can’t promise I will be so forgiving of Julian though."
Theresa sighed. "You have a chance at having two father’s Ethan, Julian
and Sam, don’t mess this up because of your stupid pride. Julian was a
horrible person once, don’t you think I remember that? But he has changed.
We have all changed."
"Maybe I’m not like you Theresa, what if I can’t forgive so easily?"
He almost growled.
Theresa stood up and frowned, "Then you need to grow up Ethan! Because
life is going to go on no matter what you do!" She yelled just as Chad’s
face appeared around the corner.
