The Fall Of Temptation; Chapter 3 (Evian)
by ejcrane

Sunday came and Eve noticed that Julian hadn’t attended. The reason for his absence was that he didn’t want to make Eve feel more uncomfortable than she had already been. He missed seeing her, but knew he had to keep his distance…at least for now. After church service, Tc asked if she had known where Julian was. She answered nervously and told Tc that she hadn’t heard from Julian in days. He looked at her strangely, and wondered why she was acting that way, but he just brushed it off and went to work on his next sermon in his office at home.

Tc and Eve had had their dinner and back to his office Tc went.

“Tc,” she knocked on his door.

“Yeah, baby?” he looked up from his computer.

“I just wanted to tell you that I’m going to be in the shower, so if you call out to me and no one answers…you know where I’m at,” she kissed the top of his head.

“Okay, baby,” Tc kissed her hand, “I’ll be up as soon as I can.”

Eve walked out of his office and closed the door behind her. She then made her way up the stairs and into their bathroom. Eve turned the knob to the hot water, and then also turned the knob to the cold water to even the temperature out until it was warm. Her clothes soon left her body and were now a pile on the floor. Eve then pushed back the shower curtain and stepped in. She sighed as she felt the warm water spraying down upon her skin. As she lathered her loofa sponge, she bent over and ran it from her ankle to her knee, and then to her thigh; and as she did this, the memory of Julian touching her in that intimate way, came back to her. Her back made contact with the cold tile and she flinched, but not because of the sudden coolness against her warm skin, but because of the way Julian touched her. The memory was all too real; almost as if it were happening at that very moment. Eve closed her eyes and clinched the shower curtain as her breathing became erratic…

“Eve!” Tc knocked on the door, frightening Eve, “Are you okay in there, baby? You’ve been in there for almost two hours now.”

“Uh…yes, I’m fine,” her voice squeaked, “I’ll be out in a minute…” the sound of the water running suddenly stopped.

Another Sunday had passed and Julian still hadn’t attended church. It was now Monday, and Eve was doing her rounds at the hospital when she passed by the cafeteria and caught a glimpse of Julian and Olivia having lunch. Eve stared at the couple, but turned when she saw that Julian noticed her. She didn’t know why, but she all of a sudden had the urge to cry. Something in her felt wrong; like something was falling apart. She glanced back at Julian and Olivia one last time, and Julian took notice of Eve’s eyes…they looked somewhat glassy. Eve turned and left.

“You know what, Livie?” Julian stood, “I forgot a file in the board room; I’ll be right back.”

Julian walked down the hallway and looked back to make sure no one saw him slip into Eve’s office.

Eve was at her filing cabinet and turned around to see him shut the door.

“Julian,” she said as she closed the drawer.

“Eve, how are you?”

“Good,” she nodded and looked off to the side, “You?”

“I’m…good too,” he tried to smile.

It was just too awkward for the both of them.

“Look, I’ve been wanting to talk to you since…” he looked up to her and met her eyes, “…since that day, and I just wanted to apologize.”

“I see…”

“That’s why I haven’t been around much; I didn’t want you to feel as if you couldn’t be around me anymore without knowing what I was going to do. What I’m really trying to say is that…maybe we should distance ourselves from one another…just for a bit. Until we can get back to that spot we were at; I really miss being there,” he looked down.

“Yes, that sounds like a good plan,” Eve nodded.

“Good,” he ran a hand through his hair, “Well, I better get back to Olivia…”

“You two are involved now,” Eve turned her back to him as her lips began to tremble.

“Well, not ‘involved,’ but we’re getting to know each other…”

“Hmm,” Eve cleared her throat to get rid of the knot that was now forming there, “That’s great,” she whispered, “Well, Julian if you don’t mind, I really need to be getting back to work.”

“Yes, yes; sorry Eve,” he walked to the door and opened it, “It was good seeing you, Eve,” he said just before he closed it.

Eve let out a whimper as she sat on the edge of her desk. A tear made its way down her cheek and fell onto the top of the desk just in front of the picture of her and Tc. Eve picked it up and began crying more.

God, what’s happening to me?
---

Julian and Olivia began seeing more of each other and attended the church activities together. Everyone thought they made a cute couple…everyone except Eve. She didn’t know what was happening. It was her that practically encouraged her friend to go after Julian.

And now she was staring at them from across the room. They were whispering in each other’s ear and laughing. That used to be them. She missed having her friend. Or was it that she missed having this man by her side? This man that she felt differently for.

Olivia’s relationship with Julian didn’t change her and Eve’s friendship, but Eve found herself feeling uneasy when Olivia would go on and on about Julian.

One day Olivia and Eve decided to go shopping after their shift at the hospital. That was the day that was going to change Eve’s life forever…

“God, I feel so sticky; it was really hot out there, wasn’t it?” Eve said as she put down her bags and slumped into a chair.

“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Olivia said as she looked through her bags, “Oh damn!”

“What? What is it?” Eve sat up straight.

“They forgot to give me one bag,” she continued to go through the bags, “You know, the one with all the fruit. I really wanted to eat some now,” she laughed as she whined, “Hell, I’m going to go back and get it. You don’t mind do you? You could come with me if you want to?”

“No, no, but I wanted to know if you wouldn’t mind if I would take a shower…so I could cool down?”

“Ohh, no…go on; I’ll be back in a few minutes, okay?” she grabbed her car keys and left.

Eve made her way to the bathroom and turned on the water. She then undressed and stepped into the shower. Five minutes later, Eve heard a door open.

Boy, that was fast…

Julian walked in and shut the door. He saw Olivia’s car outside, and since no one answered the door when he knocked, he decided to let himself in, in case she wasn’t hurt. Julian smiled as he heard the shower running. He and Olivia had never been intimate that way, but they were talking about taking their relationship a step further, so he was going to surprise her…in the shower.

He quietly walked to the bathroom door as he shed his clothes at the same time. When he got in, he laid his pile of clothes on the countertop and tip-toed to the shower door. He flung the door open with a smile on his face, but got the surprise when he didn’t see Olivia under the hot running water…

“Julian!” Eve screamed as she stood there staring back at him.

Julian’s smile faded, but a look of seduction crept upon his face.

“Julian, Olivia stepped out for a minute,” Eve swallowed as her eyes took in his naked form, “She’ll be back…” she whispered.

“Eve,” Julian moaned as he looked her up and down.

He then stepped into the tiny shower stall.

“Julian! What are you doing?!” she tried to back up, but couldn’t as her back made contact with the wall.

He shut the door behind him, and then pulled her to him.

“Julian, let go of me!” she yelled.

“God, Eve…I’ve longed for this for so long,” he began kissing her neck.

Julian could feel the pressure from her hands let up.

“This is wrong,” she moaned as she felt his hand wrap around her breast.

“I’ve imagined this, but never was it this wonderful,” he looked into her eyes before he kissed her.

Julian’s tongue parted her lips and explored her mouth…every little crevice; he then stroked her tongue with his own…pleading for her to follow back into his mouth, and Eve gladly obliged. She darted her tongue in and out of his mouth, taking little samples of his taste.

Julian kissed her chin, then traveled to her neck, and before Eve knew it, she felt his lips close around her nipple.

“Julian,” she panted, “Julian,” her hands gripped his shoulders as her back arched off the wall.

He then moved to her other breast and suckled it as he did the first. Eve knew she should stop him, but she couldn’t. She too, had been wanting this; imagining it…

Julian stood and placed a hand on the back of Eve’s thigh. He then raised it to his hip.

“We can’t, Julian, we can’t…”

Julian then entered her in one smooth stroke.

“Oh my God,” Eve moaned.

Julian looked to Eve’s face and smiled at her as he kept still inside her. Moved with anticipation, Eve began thrusting her hips towards Julian.

“No, Eve,” he held her hips still against the tile wall, “I want to know how it feels to just be inside you,” he breathed into her face.

“But Julian…” she huffed, “…I can’t take it anymore,” her arms made their way around his neck.

Julian couldn’t take it anymore either, so he withdrew from her. He grabbed her face with his hands and kissed her. With her leg still curved around his waist, Julian ran his hand down the front of her body and rested it behind her thigh and raised it higher as he delved into her. Eve clung to Julian as he thrust his hard, steel throbbing member into her. She too, joined him with short thrusts of her hips.

Her lips nipped at his neck; the sensation Julian was driving out of her was causing her to lose control. She wanted him; she didn’t want him to stop wanting her.

“Ee-vvee,” Julian groaned into her neck as he gave one final push, “Eve, you feel so good,” his warm breath could be felt upon her ear.

He held onto her and could feel that their hearts were beating in unison. Suddenly, Julian got the urge to take her again, but this time, his hands rested on her hips and he turned her away from him. He wrapped his arms around her and brought her close to his body.

“Eve, I want you again,” he whispered into her ear, as his hand fondled her breast.

Eve didn’t answer him, but she couldn’t seem to reject him either, for Julian entered her from behind. She could feel his hot lips upon her shoulders. She could feel his fingers caress the tips of her breasts; and his tongue, ohh, his tongue…

And before they knew it, they heard the front door open and close.

“Eve! You’re still in there, girl?” Olivia laughed as she talked on the outside of the door, “I’m back, I’ll be in the kitchen when you’re done!” she turned and walked to the kitchen.

“Oh my God, what are we going to do?!” Eve squeaked.

“Shh, Eve…umm,” he opened the shower door and stepped out, “I’ve got it,” he whispered as he dried himself off, “I’ll sneak out through the window, okay?”

Eve simply nodded as she too began drying herself off.

The two dressed and didn’t say a word to one another. As Julian opened the window, he turned back to Eve…

“Eve?”

She turned towards him.

“You don’t regret this, do you?”

“Julian, we can’t talk about that now,” she turned away from him.

Julian stepped away from the window and walked over to her.

“Please don’t tell me that you do regret this,” he pulled her to him, “Because I don’t, Eve. I loved being with you,” his lips captured hers.

Eve kissed him back, but then pushed him away.

“Go, Julian…go,” she pushed him.

Julian climbed out of the window just as it began to pour down. Forgetting where Olivia said she’d be, Julian ran to the left where the kitchen was, and Eve’s eyes widened as she saw Julian. He stopped when he saw Olivia and Eve in the kitchen, but managed to duck when Olivia turned to look outside.

“What? What is it, Eve? You act like you’ve seen a ghost,” she chuckled.

“Uh, no, I just realized it’s raining,” she smiled, “You know, I really should be going; Tc’s probably wondering where I’m at.”

“Okay,” Olivia said as she watched Eve rush to the front door, “Oh, wait Eve, here are your keys,” she followed after Eve and handed the keys to her, “I hope you don’t mind that I borrowed them, it’s just that when we had put them down, and then when I ran out of here, I grabbed yours by mistake,” she shook her head, “And by the time I realized it, I was already outside…”

“Oh, no, that’s fine. Well, I better be going…” she opened the door, only to see Julian standing there, bent over with his hands on his knees panting.

“Julian, honey,” Olivia slipped passed Eve, “Are you okay? Come in out of the rain,” she tugged on his arm.

Julian looked up to Olivia and smiled; his eyes then looked to Eve’s. She didn’t seem very happy. Well, she wasn’t. Eve now hated seeing Olivia’s hands on Julian.

“I better get going,” Eve stepped out onto the porch, “I’ll talk to you later, Olivia…Julian.”

Olivia welcomed Julian in, and watched as Eve ran through the rain to her car. Hmm, that was strange. Eve’s hair was soaking wet, but so was Julian’s. But the funny thing was…was that Julian’s clothes didn’t seem to be as wet as his hair was…as his and Eve’s hair were.

Julian had made a mistake. He conveniently walked around the house to where the rain wasn’t falling much. How was he going to explain why his clothes weren’t as wet as his hair?

Olivia never asked. She sort of had a feeling that something was going on, but brushed it off and focused on her and Julian’s evening together.

“Julian, are you listening to a word that I’m saying?” Olivia stared back at a dazed Julian.

“Hmm,” he blinked his eyes, “Of course, Livie,” Julian smiled as his mind went back to him and Eve in the shower.

He already missed her; already missed being deep inside her.
