Forgiven, Chapter 4
by ejcrane

The next day Julian canceled his meetings and spent the day with Jordan. Eve went on with her day as usual and went to work. And when she got home, she unlocked the door, entered, and walked upstairs as she read her mail. She opened the door to her room and failed to turn on the light as she entered. As she made her way to the bathroom, she tossed the letters onto her bed and flicked the switch to the bathroom light on. What Eve did not know was that Julian was sitting in one of the arm chairs in her bedroom and was watching everything she was doing. Julian watched as she turned on the water and poured bubble bath into the tub, and then watched as Eve began undressing. She had never bothered to shut the door or lock it since she lived alone. Julian could not take his eyes off of her and could not stop grinning. He had missed being with Eve so much. He remembered that first time he had ever touched her. It had been in her office and he had spilt water on her legs. Right away Julian offered to wipe the water off her legs, just so he could touch them. If that would’ve been all that he could have touched, he would have been content, but it wasn’t all he touched. Julian remembered gliding his hand up the inside of her leg, and then glancing up at Eve’s face to see her reaction. She just stared back; he could detect the difference in her breathing, the difference in her eyes. The look she was giving him was a look of: want, desire…yearning. Julian didn’t know whether to stop just below the hem of her skirt or to keep going, but he had wanted her for so long, so he took his chances and inched his hand up. Eve still didn’t do anything to prevent him. Julian then felt Eve for the first time, and felt that she too wanted him; it was evident. He wanted so much to take Eve right then and there in her office, but once Eve pulled away, Julian knew that leaving was the right thing to do…

And now he was watching her as she closed her eyes while she relaxed in the tub. Julian stood up, removed his shirt and walked to the bathroom. Eve still did not know anyone was there, nor did she sense anyone there. He walked slowly towards the tub and then knelt down just outside of it. Her eyes still remained closed. Julian inched his face down until it was inches from her face. Eve felt laboring breaths upon her lips, so she opened her eyes and found a man hovering over her. She screamed, but Julian silenced her as he kissed her. Eve slid out from under him and Julian went face first into the tub as Eve stood and ran out. Julian was quick as he too stood and ran after Eve in his soaking jeans. He caught her just as she was about to step onto the carpet in her room.

“Eve, wait,” he slipped on the floor, taking her down with him.

Eve struggled underneath him and freed herself from him, until he grabbed her once more. The two now stood as Eve fought him, but Julian then grabbed a hold of her hands and trapped them down behind her as he kissed her neck. Eve shifted her neck every which way just to avoid his lips making contact with her skin, but she failed to move her neck when Julian had kissed that one sensitive spot that Eve was helpless to. She moaned out in pleasure as she felt his lips, and then when she felt his tongue upon that certain spot, she began grinding her body against his. Her hands soon became free as Julian released them. They went straight around his neck and Julian’s went to Eve’s backside as he squeezed her before lifting her into his arms. Towels and bottles of perfume were knocked over as Julian leaned Eve back onto the counter to have better access to her breasts.

“Julian, Julian, JULIAN!” Eve screamed as she felt his tongue.

She could feel the rough material of his jeans between her thighs and it was driving her wild.

“I need you, Julian,” she groaned as her fingers ran through his soaked hair.

Julian unbuttoned his jeans and pulled the zipper down and then entered her. He then picked Eve back up and carried her over to the bath tub and stepped in.

“Your pants, Julian…”

“Make love to me, Eve,” Julian sat down in the water with Eve in his lap, “Make love to me, darling,” he whispered into her neck as he felt her begin to move.

Eve then began to ride Julian as he leaned his head back and took delight in the pleasure Eve was giving him. He swallowed and then groaned as Eve came down upon him and hit that spot that excited him so. Julian’s head then leaned forward as he watched Eve. She was bouncing upon him with her eyes closed while she bit her bottom lip. Her breasts came up above the water and then lowered causing ripple after ripple in the water. Julian then pulled Eve to him and embraced her as he felt himself let go inside her. He could feel her hot breath upon his shoulder, could feel her rapid heart beat against his chest.

It was hours later and Julian woke up in Eve’s bed. He glanced to her side, but she wasn’t there. The light in the bathroom was on, so he assumed that she was in there.

“Eve?” he called out, but there was no answer.

Julian swung his feet to the side of the bed and stood. He walked over to the bathroom door and knocked, but it just swung back and opened all the way. Still, no Eve. His pants were still hanging on the shower rod, dripping wet. They had decided that it would be best to take his jeans off after their rendezvous in the tub, since their second and third and fourth meeting happened to take place on her bed. His boxers were dried by now, so Julian slipped them on and looked for Eve. He then found her in a room. A baby’s nursery to be exact.

Eve was standing near the crib and rested her hands on the railing as she cried.

Julian’s eyes grew wide. He marched up to Eve, grabbed her arm, and spun her around roughly.

“You’re pregnant, Eve?!” he glared at her, “Who’s the father?! Hmm? WHO’S THE DAMN FATHER?!” Julian demanded as his jealously was now not a secret, “Did our making love not mean anything to you?!”

“I’m not pregnant,” she sobbed, “This was our baby’s room…this was supposed to be her room,” Eve grabbed onto Julian and cried in his arms.

Julian wrapped his arms around her and had a look of confusion upon his face.

“What, Eve? What did you just say?” he spoke softly.

She pulled from his arms and walked over to the dresser. There were two picture frames on top, but she picked up one and stared at it. Julian walked and stood beside her. In the frame that was still on the dresser was a picture of him and Eve at one of the many church activities they had attended, and on the frame were the words, “I love Mommy & Daddy”. Julian smiled, and then turned his eyes to the frame that Eve was holding.

“What do you have there, Eve?”

She turned it around to him.

“It’s the first ultrasound I had,” she smiled as she stared at their baby.

Julian looked at Eve. She was happy. If she was happy and had gone out of her way to make a nursery and all these baby things, then why did she leave Jordan with him? And he almost forgot…who was that “Jillian Crane” person?

“Eve, I don’t understand,” Julian finally said.

“What’s there to understand, Julian? Our baby was stillborn…that’s just the way life goes sometimes,” she sniffed.

“I’m not talking about that. I want you to explain this letter you wrote me and left with our baby,” he led her back to her room and reached out into the inside of his suit jacket and pulled out his wallet.

“Explain…explain what? What letter? What are you talking about?”

He handed her the letter, and Eve began reading it.
~~~
Julian,
Say hello to your beautiful baby girl. This is the child we created behind Tc’s back, but I just couldn’t go on raising this baby, knowing that she was the cause of the death of my husband. And that’s why I’m giving her to you. The shame was just too much for me to bear. Goodbye, Julian.
Eve
Eve gasped.
“I never wrote this!” she looked to him, “Where did you get this?!”
“You didn’t write that,” he asked, doubting her.
“NO! Never would I say cruel things about Jillian…she was everything to me,” Eve smiled, “I was never ashamed of her.”
“Jillian?”
“Yes,” Eve grinned, “That’s what I named our little girl…after you,” she whispered.
Julian was speechless…honored, but reality kicked back in.
“You mean you didn’t write that letter and leave it with Jordan on my doorstep?”
“What? No,” Eve shook her head, “Jordan? Why would I have anything to do with Jordan; she’s your daughter.”
“Eve, she’s our daughter,” Julian pulled out a document from the folder that he had left on the arm chair he had been sitting in.
Eve looked it over.
“What is this?” she looked up to Julian.
“It’s Jordan’s birth certificate…she’s ours, Eve. It used to say ‘Baby Crane’, but I had them change it when I named her,” he said, “I never knew you named our baby, Jillian…hell, I never knew about our baby until Jordan showed up on my doorstep.”
“You’re serious about this?”
He nodded.
“Why would I lie, Eve?”
“But, Julian, I saw her; I saw our baby…I even got to hold her…”
“Eve, I don’t know who you got to hold, but that wasn’t our baby,” he shook his head, “As soon as Jordan arrived, I immediately had some blood work done, and she is mine. I was never with anyone else, but you, Eve…during that time.”
Eve looked back down at the document in her hands.
“August sixth? That’s when Jillian was born,” Eve looked up, “Julian, if what you’re saying is true…then how did this happen?” a look of fear stretched across her face.
“Now that I know that you had no idea about Jordan; that you didn’t abandon her…”
“I would never do that to our child, and do you know why?”
Julian shook his head.
“Because. Because she was a part of you,” Eve smiled, “A part of you and me…she was created out of love…”
Julian walked up to Eve and pulled her into his arms.
“I love you, Eve,” he kissed her softly, “And I am going to find out just what happened…”
As Julian embraced Eve he realized that she had wanted their baby, especially after seeing all Eve did with the room across the hall.
“Eve, I want to show you something.” He pulled on her hands, “Will you let me show you something?”
She nodded and Julian led her to the other guest room. And there in the bed was little Jordan curled up asleep with her teddy bear.
“Julian,” Eve whispered, “She’s ours?”
“Yes, Eve…yours and mine,” he smiled.
She took a step towards the bed and paused.
“May I?” she pointed back to the bed with her thumb.
“Please…” he walked behind her as she got closer to her daughter.
“She’s beautiful, Julian,” Eve said in amazement.
“I see you in her everyday,” he touched Jordan’s hair, “You know, she has your eyes,” his eyes met Eve’s.
“I saw that earlier, but I didn’t know what to think,” she laughed, “I actually thought I was imagining things.”
A few seconds later Jordan woke up and found her father and mother staring down at her.
“Daddy, what’s wrong,” she rubbed her eyes.
“Nothing, Princess, nothing,” he touched her cheek with the front of his finger.
Her eyes looked to Eve’s.
“Mommy wants to tuck you in, Jordan.”
“Can I tuck you in, sweetie?”
“‘May I,’” Jordan corrected Eve, “Yes you may.”
“She’s very proper,” Julian laughed a bit and then stood up and left the room.
Eve was left alone in the room with her daughter. She pulled the covers up to Jordan’s shoulder and then kissed her on the forehead, and just as Eve was about to leave, Jordan stumped her with a question.
“Why didn’t you want me?”
Jordan watched as Eve stopped and turned around to face her.
“What did you say, honey?”
“Why didn’t you want me?” Jordan was now kneeling on the bed, “Was I a bad girl?”
Eve rushed over to the bed and pulled Jordan into her arms.
“Oh honey, I did want you, I did…I wanted you so much,” Eve squeezed her tighter as she caressed her back, “I don’t know what happened,” Eve pulled from her and looked at Jordan, “When you were born, they told me you had died…I never knew you were with your dad. I thought you were gone, I thought you were gone,” Eve cried, “But you’re not gone; you’re here with me, and I’m not going anywhere,” she pulled her daughter back into an embrace, “I love you, Jordan…I love you,” Eve rocked her back and forth.
“I love you too, mommy,” Jordan wrapped her arms around Eve’s neck.
