Whitney kicked as her attacker drug her off the sidewalk and her screams were muffled by his hand. Grabbing his hand, she bit down on it with all the might her jaw held, making him let go for a short moment. In that moment, Whitney let out a blood wrenching scream as he grabbed a hold of her again and threw her to the ground. She closed her eyes tightly as he got on top of her to hold her down. Fearing what was next, her heart started beating faster with fear and wishing Chad were there with her and suddenly she felt nothing. No hand over her mouth and no heavy weight on top of her. Hearing movement around her, she opened her eyes slowly to see her attacker being held against a tree trying to get away, but failing, by another man who was hitting him repeatedly. Whitney sat up slowly and looked at the man who had saved her. That jacket she thought. No way. "Chad?" she said, her voice strong, but still full of fear.

Chad looked away from the man against the tree and looked down at Whitney. "Whitney?" With Chad's attention off him, the attacker took his chance and hit Chad making him fall to the ground and squint at the blow made to his face. The man took off as Whitney moved closer to Chad moving his hands away from her face. "Oh, my God. Are you all right?" Whitney asked.

"I'm fine. What about you? That bastard -- he was..." Chad trailed off noticing Whitney shaking from her fear, "Here," Chad sat up and wrapped his arms around Whitney and pulled her tightly against his chest where she finally let her tears fall. "We should probably go to the hospital so they can check you out." Chad said only to have Whitney shake her head, "Well, at least the police station so you can report this." Whitney pulled away and looked at Chad with tears in her eyes. "We can do that in the morning can't we?"

Chad smiled and nodded his head. He never could resist her when she was upset. Chad stood up and lifted Whitney up with him. "Here, let me get you home." Chad tried to move, but Whitney refused. He looked at her confused. "I'd much rather be with you tonight," she said looking up at him After a slight pause and looking at Whitney, Chad nodded his head and helped her to his apartment without a word being or needing to be said.

"What are you up to, Simone?" Ty asked walking into Tabitha's kitchen from the backyard, looking at Simone at the kitchen table as Kay stood up.

"Why don't I give you two a minute."

"Ty-" Simone started after Kay had left, "This really has nothing to do with you, so you don't have to worry."

"I am worried -- about you getting hurt. But I'm too late for that, huh?"

"I will be fine once Whitney gets what she deserves."

"What did she do to you that was so terrible?" Ty asked sitting down across from Simone.

"I might as well tell you since he's gone so it doesn't really matter." Simone sighed as Ty wondered if he meant Chad. "Chad hasn't really been in love with me, hell, he probably never was."

"Let me guess, he loved Whitney?"

"Yeah, I overheard her break it off with him because of how it would effect me."

"So you hate her because?"

"She stole him away, just so she can have everything and I have nothing!"

"No offense, but from what you've told me, Chad was never your to get stolen from."

"Oh, why don't you and Kay write a book!"

"And besides, you don't have nothing."

"Yes, I do. Chad's gone. He left town."

"All right, A: I was leaning towards 'You have me.' and B: Chad didn't leave town."

"What?" Simone looked at him in shock.

"I said, you have me." Ty repeated himself.

"No - Chad didn't leave town?" Simone asked, excitedly as Ty looked down at the table.

"No, he didn't. I just saw him this morning at the Book Cafe. He wasn't acting like he was going anywhere." Ty said, disappointed by his own words.

"Oh, this is great." Simone stood up and walked around the table in front of Ty.

"Great? The guy you want that's in love with the sister you want to send all the way across the country is still in town. So I repeat. Great?"

"With Whitney going to Idaho, Chad will be in Harmony - alone -- with me." Simone smiled proudly at the news she'd just received.

Ty stared at her for a moment and sighed in anger and stood up, "No, you're not going to be alone with Chad."

"What? Why not?" she asked confused.

"Because I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere." Ty paused for a moment and went on, "I'm here for you, Simone. You are such an amazing woman, but you're a crush stricken fool."

"What? You think what I have for Chad is a crush?" Simone hated that. Everyone thought what Simone felt for Chad was a crush. Just a silly school girl crush, just because he was older. And they were all wrong, weren't they?

"Yeah, I do. You could have something real, Simone. Something real with me. Someone who doesn't need you to get your sister shipped off to Kansas-"

"-Idaho."

"Whatever - just to keep them interested in you. Cause you have my attention. Full. And I can give you 3 guesses as to who Chad's with at this moment. The one who has his attention and his heart." Ty paused again and watched as the anger left her face, only to be replaced with sadness. "So, if you want to go ahead with your revenge plot, go on. I won't stop you, but if you do, I guess we'll know if you really have nothing or at least nothing you want."

Ty couldn't believe what he was saying, his form of good-bye? He really believed that he and Simone could make it when Chad made it very clear he wasn't as interested in Simone as she was in him.

He leaned forward and lightly kissed Simone's cheek and moved his mouth right above her ear and whispered, "I love you." Ty backed up slowly and looked at Simone who was obviously very shocked. Without a word, Ty walked out the door as Simone sat back down in a chair and started to cry but couldn't figure out if she was crying because what Ty said was right or her letting him leave was wrong.
