Kay opened the door to the backyard and let the smoke clear from Tabitha's kitchen, "I didn't think they were in that long." Kay said quietly throwing the burnt cookies in the trash. She looked over at Simone sitting at the table with a smile on her face.

"What are you so happy about?" Kay asked, sitting down across from her.

"Just thinking about..."

"Ty?"

"Maybe. But I'm also putting a lot of thought into Whitney."

"Oh, yeah. The deceitful sister sets her plan into motion. What is your plan anyway?"

"Well, Whitney's been slacking off lately in tennis and it's all because of Chad, so I took the liberty of leaving a note in her room from Chad tell her meet him in the park."

"But doesn't Chad leave town?"

"Yes, so she gets her hopes up going there thinking he stayed in town for her. And when he never shows-"

"She's heartbroken."

"Too heartbroken to do well in her competition tomorrow. You know, that really big and important competition?"

"That's tomorrow? Wow, I could hardly remember from all of the signs and billboards that are up all over town. So, miss tennis star doesn't win, that's it?" Kay asked.

"No way, things would never end like that. You see, my dad has been noticing Whitney letting up on the game, so when she loses tomorrow, Whitney gets a one-way ticket to a 8 month tennis camp in Idaho." Simone said, unable to keep hidden her wicked smile.

"Whoa, your dad would really send her away for losing a tennis match? That's psychotic."

"That's a man with a temper and real hate for losing." Simone said, "Whitney's as good as gone and when or hopefully if she comes back in 8 months, things are going to be a hell of a lot more different from the way they are now. I'll be the star of the show and Whitney will be nothing to no one."

"Wow, looks like you've got everything worked out." Ty said standing in the doorway of the backdoor. Kay and Simone turned to see him with a look of shock on their faces.

Whitney paced around the circle pavement in the park as the light pole flickered on nearby. "Where is he?" Whitney thought out loud. She looked down at the note in her hand. She was shocked to find the note from Chad in her room of all places and a little surprised by its contents.
 

Dear Whitney,
      I'm sorry about running off like I did, but I am still here and I want - I need to see you. I know of a way for us to be together and not hurt Simone. Meet me in Lighthouse Park ASAP. Our future depends on it.

Whitney folded the note up and looked at it questioning it. "I am still here? But he never left town in the first place. He just moved out. This sounds like he really did at some point." Whitney sighed in frustration and looked around the empty park. There was on light pole on a few yards away, but Whitney suddenly felt uneasy and wrapped her arms around herself. "Oh Chad, where are you?" Within a matter of moments a large hand covered Whitney's mouth and pulled her back, with his other arm, into the dark shrubs of the bushes and trees.
