Theresa handed her mother a cup of coffee and smiled. "Mama how did you know papa was your true love?"
Pilar smiled. "We just always belonged. It always made sense, Martin always knew what to say, he could read my mind."
"But mama I thought Ethan was the one, and I was wrong." Theresa frowned.
"My sweet child, Ethan was your first love, and while it is special, he wasn’t the one for you. Being with him taught you many things Theresa. "
"Like how to get my heart broke? Nice lesson." Theresa frowned.
"Child don’t pity yourself. Its over now, don’t look back look forward."
"Mama, I really care for Chad, and I know how great he is, but mama its scares me and I’m not sure why." Theresa sighed.
Pilar laughed. "Theresa, you are a strong woman now, but many things have changed now. You are no longer looking out for just you." Pilar said then frowned.
"Matt and Kendra, I have them now." Theresa nodded. "But Chad loves them, he’s so good with them and with his own child."
Pilar nodded. "You’ve always saw yourself dating men with no children, because you never had children. But Theresa the world doesn’t always work the way we want it too. If it did my poor son would be here still." Pilar frowned.
"I know mama, I miss Sheridan and Luis so much. But I know I have to look out for the kids now. Somehow I’ve got to make sure this is right for them as well as me, and thats hard to do."
Pilar shook her head. "Theresa, you are doing wonderful, you’ve been putting the kids first and that makes me so proud of you. But you must find happiness yourself, and Chad makes you happy. He makes you smile much like Martin made me smile."
"You think so mama?" Theresa said a rush of relief filling her.
"Yes my precious girl, I do."

"Mother get up!" Gwen commanded to Rebecca.
"Gwen, she doesn’t look too good, are you sure she just fainted." Miguel asked.
"Of course she did! She’s always doing this kind of stuff." Gwen complained as she bent down to her mother. "Mother, wake up!" Gwen said again as Rebecca’s eyes slowly opened.
"Gwenie." She said weakly.
"Are you O.k?" Gwen questioned her tone brisk.
"Oh Gwen I had the worst dream, I thought you were dating one of Pilar’s offspring it was horrible." Rebecca cried looking up at Gwen, then her eyes went to the tall figure behind Gwen.
"Mother, I am dating Pilar’s son." Gwen said rolling her eyes. "Now stand up and let’s talk this out.
Rebecca stood to her feet, her eyes wide, her hand back on her heart, "How can this be? Didn’t I teach you better?" She questioned. " This is horrible, my life is ruined, simply ruined. He’s so common, so poor." She gasped.
"Poor? Mother he is not poor! And what if he was? Why would it even matter?"
"He’s Theresa’s brother! What if he’s like that little twit."
"My sister is no twit." Miguel said stepping up. "And I plan to go back to college soon."
Rebecca rolled her eyes, " So you can have some regular job, my baby deserves better."
Gwen shot a look at her mother. "Will you please grow up? Life isn’t about money mother. Its not about who has the biggest house, or who’s husband bought them the biggest gift for christmas."
"Its not?" Rebecca asked looking at her daughter with a strange glance.
"No mother its not!"
Rebecca looked over at Miguel. "He’s so plain." She whined.
"Mother would you stop. I want to be loved, and love doesn’t have a price tag. Maybe Miguel isn’t the one for me but whoever I fall in love with, I don’t care about his money. Sheridan realized that lesson, and so have Julian and Ivy, why can’t you mother?" Gwen cried looking over at Miguel.
"These people, have they brainwashed you? Or drugged you, perhaps that’s it. You are not talking like my child Gwen. Look at him, how he dresses, I bet he shops at clearance racks." She gasped.
"What’s wrong with that? I like bargains." Miguel smiled.
"This can’t be happening." Rebecca shrieked.
"Mother just leave." Gwen finally said. "I’ll talk to you about this later."
Rebecca nodded. "I’ll be glad to. Oh my poor baby." She cried looking at Gwen as she walked out the door.
Miguel frowned. "Gwen I’m sorry about that."
Shaking her head Gwen smiled, "Don’t worry about my mother, she was actually much calmer than I expected." She shrugged. "I’m more interested in why you stopped by."
Miguel laughed. "I think we need to talk about some things."
Gwen smiled tiptoeing she kissed Miguel’s cheek. "I agree." She nodded looking into Miguel’s eyes. Sheridan had always said trust your heart, and Gwen was praying her best friend had been right, more than that, she couldn’t help but wonder if Sheridan had been working a little magic for up above.

Kendra giggled as she watched from the stairs as her Aunt Theresa floated around her living room. Her Grandma Pilar had just left, and Aunt Theresa seemed to be really happy. She danced around the room with a big smile on her face. Kendra couldn’t help but think that Aunt Resa looked just like an angel, but she knew she wasn’t a real angel, not like her mommy. Kendra had been told that mommy was up in heaven watching her, and daddy was taking real good care of things too. She wanted to go down and dance with Aunt Resa, but she didn’t like the music much.

There you are in the early light of day
There you are in the quiet words I pray
I've been blessed by the simple happiness
Of the perfect love we've made

Every time I turn around
When I'm lost and when I'm found
Like an angel standing guard
There you are

Kendra smiled, she could see by the big smile on Aunt Resa’s face that she was thinking about Chad. But Chad wasn’t Aunt Resa’s angel, nope Kendra knew who that was. She was really glad though, that Chad made Aunt Resa all happy, she’s missed aunt Resa’s smile, it was so pretty.

Every time I take a breath and when I forget to breathe
You're watching over me there you are
When I'm looking for the light in the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star
There you are

There you are in standing in a crowded room
There you are the earth and I'm the moon
My desire is to stand by the fire
That burns inside of you

Kendra wondered if Aunt Resa loved Chad the way her mommy loved her daddy. She missed all the happy stuff they used to do. She didn’t even mind seeing her mommy and daddy kiss, even though it was kind of gross, mommy would tell it was because they’re hearts were full of love. Kendra didn’t understand it, but it was cool anyway.

Every time I turn around
When I'm lost and when I'm found
Like an angel standing guard
There you are

Every time I take a breath and when I forget to breathe
You're watching over me there you are
When I'm looking for the light in the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star
There you are

Kendra smiled as she watched Resa fall on the couch. She looked so happy again. Looking up Kendra smiled. "Thanks for making Aunt Resa happy again mommy, I knew you could do it." She giggled jumping up and running back up the stairs.
