Talk to Me

Ivy smiled as she picked up Jada’s doll, "So what did you think of that Carrie lady?" She asked.
"Grandma Ivy, I know she’s my mommy." Jada frowned. "Daddy told me."
"And do you like her?" Ivy asked.
"I don’t want her." Jada said point blank. "I’ve got Daddy and Justin and you and Grandpa Julian." Jada smiled.
"You sure do." Ivy agreed.
"Does my daddy like Theresa in the way he liked my mommy?" Jada said looking up at Ivy.
"Have you asked you’re daddy?" Ivy smiled.
Jada nodded. "He said she was a special friend."
"Yes, that is what she is."
"I wish she was more than just a special friend." Jada said crossing her legs. "Cause I like her lots."
Ivy smiled. "And I happen to know that Theresa likes you lots to."
"She’s nicer than that mommy person." Jada said combing her dolls hair. "And she has Kenji and Matt."

"Is that my princess I hear?" Julian’s voice sounded as he entered the room. Smiling he looked down at his wife, she was so wonderful with Jada, watching her made him regret they way they raised their own children.
"Grandpa!" Jada yelled flinging her tiny self into him arms. He swung her up over his head and watched as she giggled.
"Are you playing dolls with Grandma Ivy?" He asked still holding her.
"Yep. You wanta play too?" She inquired her eyes twinkling.
"Some other time. I have something I have to do right now princess." Julian said sitting her down.
"But you’ll play later?" Jada said swinging her arms around.
"Yes my dear. I’ll play later."
"You promise?"
Kissing Jada on the cheek Julian smiled. "I promise."

Theresa settled on the couch next to Chad, leaning her head on his chest she smiled. "What now?" She asked looking up at him as he smoothed back her hair from her face.
"I take care of things." He said letting out a breath. "I’ll deal with Carrie before she can hurt Jada, and I’ll work on making things easier for you."
Theresa sat up. "Easier for me? Chad, I’m doing Okay really."
"Is that why you looked like you were having a nervous break down when I walked in?" He chuckled.
Frowning Theresa turned to him. "Its been two months Chad, two months since they died."
"I didn’t know." He told her reaching out to hold her. Theresa fell gently into his arms, her head again on his chest, his heart beat sounding in her ear. It was a sound she needed to hear, a comfort like no other.
"Kendra broke down again too. I just didn’t know what to do, I mean I talked to her, held her, but Chad how do I know what to say or do? I’m not a mother." She sighed.
"Baby, you are doing great, and you may not be Kendra’s mom but you are raising her, you’ve took on the life of a mother."
"But Sher, is her mom, and Luis is her father. They knew what to do, I haven’t a clue."
Chad laughed. "You really think parents just know? Girl let me tell you something, Everyday I second guess myself with Jada. All I can do is love that kid and do what feels right. Same thing with Justin. He’s my brother but he’s still young, I just take it slow and pray I’ve done the right thing."
"So its always going to be this hard?" She frowned.
"Well it ain’t gonna get easier."
"So what would I do without you Mr. Harris?" Theresa said smiling again.
"Be in a big ole’ mess I guess." He teased.
"Then I suppose I need to hang on to you, I mean I wouldn’t want to fall apart."
Chad shook his head and lifted his eyebrow. "No, now you wouldn’t want that, besides I’m quite the prize, I hear." He grinned.
"Oh and who lied to about that one?" Theresa giggled.
"My baby girl of course."
"Well then, if Jada said so then it must be right."
"But of course." Chad laughed.
"I’m inclined to agree with your little beauty this time Chad, you are a prize." Theresa smiled.
"No Theresa, your the prize." Chad said becoming serious.
Theresa shook her head. "I’m not prize Chad, after some of the things I’ve done in my life, no I’m not a prize at all." She stated firmly as a image of Gwen suddenly planted its self in her mind.
"Girl, don’t you see how wonderful you are?"
"I ruined Gwen’s life you know. How is that wonderful?"
Chad touched her cheek, "But you are a big enough person now to admit it."
"You know, I remember seeing tears fall down her face, and I didn’t care because she had something I wanted."
Chad frowned. "And he hurt you both in the end."
"I got what I deserved. But Gwen didn’t deserve any of it."
"This friendship with Gwen has put this stuff on your mind hasn’t it?" Chad questioned.
Theresa shrugged. "Maybe. I’m not sure. I think when I lost Luis I had to look at my life from a new angle. And I didn’t like what I saw at all."
"How do you mean?"
Theresa stood up. "I have Kendra, this little girl that I’m going to raise, Chad she can’t turn out like me, hurting people like I did."
"Resa, give yourself some credit, you are a great person. Why do you think I love you?"
Thinking for a moment Theresa shrugged. "Why do you love me?" She asked.
Chad stood up and smiled, "Do you even have to ask? You are the most amazing person I’ve ever met."
"How so?"
"Your so strong, and you are determined to make a life for yourself. And Resa, the way you’ve changed from that girl I met when I first came to Harmony, its incredible. "
"You really think so?" She asked wrapping her arms around his neck. "Because I really don’t think I deserve you. "
"Me? Girl what are you talking about?"
"Chad you’re the perfect man." She smiled.
"Oh now I know that ain’t true."
"And I know it is." She said her eyes twinkling. " You are this Super Dad and the way you deal with Justin, I mean I can’t get over it. And your dad, Chad how many people do you think would have given Julian Crane a chance? Now look at him, just a little love from a few people and Julian’s a new man." She continued.
"Well I think loosing Sheridan changed him more than anything." Chad frowned. "But He had it in him all along."
Theresa nodded her head. "And you saw that in him, because that’s who you are, you see the good in people."
"You give me too much credit." Chad said leaning down to kiss Theresa’s nose. "But I love you for it."
Theresa let out a soft sigh. " You know, I don’t think I will ever get tired of hearing you say that." She
smiled. "You love me. Its like this weird dream I keep waiting to wake up from, I just feel like it will all end
and I’ll be all alone again."
"Nope, not going to happen." Chad promised. "We only have one huge bump ahead us of, and then, we can be happy."
"Is that bump Carrie?" Theresa frowned.
Chad nodded his head. "But baby I’ll take care of it. Don’t you worry another second about her."

Julian Crane stood outside a hotel room and knocked, taking in fresh air he tried to focus on going into father mode. In his life he was used to many things, obeying his own father, fighting with Ivy, and staying out of his children’s lives. Now things had changed because his son needed him, no he wanted him. He wasn’t asking him to stay away, Chad was very different than the other kids, and for that he wanted to make him proud.
A door suddenly swung open, and Julian turned around to see a beautiful slim woman staring at him. He blinked his eyes a few times and shook his head. This woman was a older Jada, charming features, dark hair that flowed too her shoulders and eyes that pierced you.
"Carrie Graham?" Julian asked tugging at his tie.
"Yes, and you are Julian Crane." She smiled.
"That I am." He agreed.
"You’re here about Chad aren’t you Mr. Crane?" Carrie asked moving from the door allowing Julian to walk in.
"No Ms. Graham I’m not." Julian said causing the woman to give him a confused look. "I am here in behalf of my grandchild. I want to speak to you about Jada."
"Of course." Carrie said smiling. "My little girl is so big now isn’t she?"
"Yes my son has done a wonderful job raising her. Alone." He finished.
"You know I was shocked to find out that Chad was a Crane. It was very unexpected."
Julian grinned and crossed his arms. "I’m sure it was. I suppose most women would be shocked to learn their child’s father is the son of one of the richest men in America."
The woman smiled slyly. "Yes, that was interesting."
"And I Ms. Graham found it unusual that you picked now to come back into Jada’s life. You could have picked anytime, so why now if I may ask?"
"Mr. Crane do you think I came because of money?" Carrie asked.
"I don’t believe I suggested anything like that." Julian said shaking his head. "But it is odd of you to bring it up."
Carrie placed her right hand on her hip. " For your information Mr. Crane, there’s many reason’s why I came back to Harmony, but you sir, are crazy if you think I’d tell you any of them." She finished walking over to the door and opening. "And now, I believe its time for you to go."
Julian smiled. "This has been a very informative visit Ms. Graham."
"Glad you thought so."
Julian turned to leave but turned back and looked sternly at Carrie. "One more thing dear, I will not let you hurt my son or his child, and I will do whatever I have to, to make sure they are safe, and happy. Do I make my self clear?"
Carrie rolled her eyes. "Quite clear."
"Good. So if you are here for money you can leave now. Because you won’t receive a dime for anyone in my family."
"Goodbye Mr. Crane." Carrie said slamming the door.
Julian let out a breath. "You are up to something my dear, and I will find out exactly what that something is." He said out loud as he turned and walked away.
