Stranger In My House - Chapter 3
by lala02

Two weeks has since passed and Dr. Teague was right about Eve. Eve’s recovery each and every day leading up ‘til now, had been wonderful. Three days after coming out of her coma, she was standing and walking around on her own with little assistance here and there. She still didn’t remember much about the accident, only what Julian had told her.

Julian had been the only person Eve would let come with her, during her physical therapy. She had insisted that he be allowed to come with her or else she wasn’t doing it at all. Some of her colleague’s thought that she was mad, but the look on her made them realize that she meant every word she said. Just thinking about that made a smile appear upon her face.

Now was the day that Eve could leave the hospital, the place she has called home for the last three months. The only problem is, where was she going to go? Even though T.C. and the girls had come and visited her in the hospital almost everyday since the accident and her waking up, he never once said that he wanted her to come back home. And for her part, she never once asked him either. As Eve was standing by her window seal looking out, Julian came up behind her and placed a kiss on top of her head.

“Julian.” Eve simply said as she turned around to face him.

“How are you feeling darling?” Julian asked as he kissed her right hand this time.

“I feel great, except for this cast on my arm. I can’t wait until Janice says it’s time to come off. So how are you doing this beautiful morning?” Eve asked Julian as a beautiful smile spread across her face reaching from ear to ear.

Julian hadn’t seen Eve smile like that in a long time. He just couldn’t get enough of her beautiful face. Even though she was in a coma for three months, nothing on her had changed that much. Her beautiful brown eyes were still the same, her lips were the same too. The only difference in Eve’s appearance was her hair, it was little bit longer practically down her back if she kept it straight. Right now it was in a nice ponytail that hung low down her back. Taking his eyes off of her face and looking her up and down, Julian’s eyes clouded over. ‘Yep, everything is the same’ Julian thought to himself. Looking at her the way he was, had him nearly drooling down his shirt. Eve saw how Julian looking at her and blushed a bit. But after regaining her composure, she tapped him on the shoulder.

“Julian…”

“Huh?! Wh-What did you say darling?” Julian stuttered as he still was giving Eve the eye.

“My eyes are up here not down there. My goodness Julian, I haven’t been out a coma three weeks and you’re giving me the lust look.” Eve said to Julian with a devilish smile on her face as she popped him on the arm.

“Well I’m sorry Eve, but I couldn’t help it.”

“I asked how you were doing this morning.”

“I’m doing fine, now that I’m here with you.” He said to her looking her square in the eyes.

“Julian…”

“So have you found a place to stay yet?” Julian just asked her out of blue.

“No. Not yet.”

“Eve, why don’t you come and stay at the mansion with me, so I can take care of you while you still recover?” Julian said to Eve as he pulled her close so that he could hold her in his arms.

“I already told you that I can’t, it just wouldn’t look right you know? Besides, I think I’ll just get a room at Grace’s B&B and stay there for a while. I have many things to think about. My husband, my girls, many things.” Eve finished in a somber tone of voice.

“Nonsense. Let me take care of you Eve. I promise you everything will be fine. Let’s not worry about T.C. and the girls, what’s more important is that you get back to being 100 percent, like you were before the accident. It’s time someone looks out for your well-being, and that someone is me.” Julian said as he kissed her softly on the lips.

A few tears fell from Eve’s eyes as what was suppose to be a simple kiss between the two of them turned passionate. Julian held Eve close to his body as he kissed her senseless. Not being able to kiss her like this for three whole months was a nightmare in itself as Julian put all of his pent up desire and passion for Eve into this kiss. Just kissing her like this made him not want to let her go, but if Eve was feeling the way that he was feeling now, then now would be a good time to end the kiss because he was finding it hard to breathe all of a sudden. After that kiss, he didn’t let her go just yet.

“So, what do you say Eve? Let me take care of you… let me be the strength you need to help you recover completely. Come stay with me.” Julian said in a husky voice to Eve as he wiped the tears that were falling from her eyes away with his right hand.

“Ok, I’ll come and stay with you Julian, but only until I recover.” Eve said to Julian as she placed her right hand on his bushy face. Just the touch of her hand on his face sent a chill down his spine. Julian hadn’t shaved yet, but when he got the chance too he would.

“So are you ready my love.” He asked Eve as he offered her his arm.

“Yes Julian… I don’t want to stay another second here. I’ve been here too long for my own liking. Let’s go.” Eve said as she took Julian’s arm.

Meanwhile, outside in the parking lot of Harmony Memorial Hospital smoking a cigarette, a guy watched as Julian escorted Eve to his car and drove off. After taking one more puff of the cancer stick, the man hopped in his car and followed Julian and Eve back to the Crane Mansion. Fifteen minutes later, as Julian’s car pulled up into the front drive way of the mansion, and the guy following them pulled over to the side of the road and watched.

“Here we are Eve, your home while you recover completely from your injuries. I plan on making your stay here, nice and peaceful.” Julian said to Eve as he turned the car off.

“Are you sure I won’t be a burden to Julian because if I am then I’ll find somewhere else to stay?” Eve asked him.

“Eve you could never be a burden to me. I want to do this for you. I want for you to recover nicely and for you to have time for yourself to sort things out. You’ve been gone for three months and many things have changed since then. I know that you don’t remember much about the accident, but what I told you. I just feel that, if you get the time and rest that you need, then maybe you can remember the rest of the missing pieces on your own.”

“Julian, what you have told me has been helpful and I thank you for that. And you’re right, maybe I do need this time to myself. I need to worry about my recovery before I can worry about every thing that was going on before my accident.”

“That’s good to hear. Come on, let me get you upstairs and then I’ll have one of the maids draw you a nice, hot bath. Afterwards, maybe the two of us could have dinner together, you know, to celebrate you coming out of your coma and back to the living. Then go for a nice walk in the park. What do you say?” Julian asked her with a hopeful look in his eyes.

“I’d love that very much. I haven’t been out for a walk in a long time. Come on lets go.”

He watched as Julian with Eve by his side walked towards the door and opened it. Within seconds, a maid came outside to get the few bags Eve had out of the car and bring them into the mansion closing the door.

Making sure that no one was saw him, the guy got out of the car and walked over to the front of the Crane Mansion gate. For all of the stories his dad had told him, the Cranes basically ran this town of Harmony. Many people never tried to take on the Cranes head up for fear that once you cross the Cranes, there was no point of return. He had heard that the head of the Cranes, Alistair, was a bigot and that his son Julian, was a drunk and loved having sex with different women. No wonder his father hated his mother, Julian was the one that corrupted her and made her leave them when he was younger. He told himself that once he got older, he would make his mother pay for what she did to them. After staring at the mansion a little bit longer, he turned around and left.
