Kay had her usual scowl on her face when Theresa dragged her tired and dirty body over the threshold of the Bed & Breakfast.

"Oh great, here comes another one." She said dryly.

"What's the matter Kay, your lastest plan to breakup Charity and Miguel was thwarted - yet again?" Theresa smirked as she dropped the heavy bag of clothes with a thud.

"Ewww." Kay said as she sniffed the air. "Something reeks, what do you have in there? Roadkill?"

Theresa ignored her remarks.

"I like a room please." She said.

"For what?" Kay inquired. "You have a gazillion rooms to choose from at the Crane mansion."

Theresa cheeks grew hot. "Well if you must know, I am divorcing Julian...I am going to marry Ethan."

"Wow, maybe I should be taking lessons from you." Kay said wickedly. "Here you are married to one man and engage to another? It must be 'true wuv' to give up the mansion with all the trimmings to live in squalor with an unemployed twit.

"I rather have true love than all the Crane millions." Theresa retorted "But I guess that you wouldn't know anything about that huh, Kay?"

Kay rolled her eyes toward the ceiling.

"Yeah, what ever." She yawned. "Any ways will it be cash or charge?"

"Excuse me?"

"I said will you be paying for the room with cash or charge it to your credit...oops I forgot you have no money and we are not accepting any more free loaders."

"Where is your mother?" I'm sure she will give me a room we're practicaly family."

"Oh look, the wittle princess is throwing a hissy!" Kay taunted."Gee, what a wittle princess to do?"

"Get bent Kay." Theresa hissed. "I know why you're being so evil, it's Miguel, you still want him."

"Puh-leaze, I am so over that loser." Kay huffed. "I finally realized that there's more to life than chasing after a man. But I guess that you wouldn't know anything about that huh, Theresa?"

"At least I got one." Theresa smirked.

"In your mind only." Kay quipped.

"Evil skank."

"Easy lay."

"Look Kay, I don't have time for this can I have a room or not?"

"Sorry, no money, no plastic, no room."

"Theresa! I have been looking all over for you?" Whitney exclaimed as she burst through the front door of the Bed & Breakfast. "I went to the Crane mansion and was told that you no longer live there...what happened?"

"My dream is finally coming true Whit." She beamed. "Ethan asked me to marry him!" She gushed. She showed Whitney the ring.

"How did that happen? I thought that Ethan proposed to Gwen."

"No Whit, Ethan finally realized that he couldn't live without me." She squealed. "This time tomorrow we will man and wife!"

"I am so happy for you!" Whitney laughed. "You finally got your man."

"Yep."

"Where's little Ethan?"

""I-I had to leave him behind..."

"Theresa please don't tell me that you signed over your parental rights to be with Ethan."

"No, no." She lied. "Julian and I have joint custody, he will be staying at the mansion until Ethan and I get settle then he will be staying with us."

"That sound like a bunch of bull, Theresa." Whitney said suspiciously. "The Cranes will never let another man raise one of their own."

"Look Whit, I don't want to talk about it right now. I am tired and smelly, can I stay with you for a couple of hours? I need to find Ethan."

"He's the reason why I came looking for you."

"Why? What happened to Ethan?"

"He's in the hospital."

"The hospital?" She cried. "Ohmigod, is he alright?"

"He is going to be just fine as soon as the swelling goes down...Come on I'll tell you all about it on the way to the hospital."

"Oh Ethan!" Theresa sobbed. "Whitney told me what that heartless bitch did to you. Are you in much pain?"

Ethan's face turned bright red.

"Well Theresa, I had a demonic dog chewing on my ass...what do you think?"

"We are going to make that bitch pay." She vowed. "Did you have her arrested yet?" she asked. "We can sue her for a huge amount of money, it will serve her right!"

"We will do no such thing." Ethan replied. "I have hurt Gwen enough."

"But Ethan think of what we can do with the money." Theresa protested. "We can get a nice home for little Ethan and you can finally start your law practice."

"I said no." He stated firmly "I will not put us through that...think about our son, I just want to put this ugly episode behind us and get on with our lives, okay?"

"Okay." Theresa pouted.

"Where's my son? With Pilar?"

She cast her eyes to the ground to avoid looking directly into his.

"He's safe." She replied. "He is very anxious to see his daddy."

"I can't wait to see him." Ethan smiled. "Dr. Russell says that I will be able to leave soon....I can't wait to hold him in my arms."

Tears began to form in her eyes.

"Hey Ethan I have an idea." She smiled as she quickly wiped her eyes. "Wouldn't it be great if we can greet our son as man and wife?" She hinted. "I can't think of a better way to start off our new life together with our son than to get marry right away."

"That would be great honey but I'm in no shape to do anything right now."

"We don't have to go far." Theresa continued. "I'll do all the driving, all you have to do is lay in the back and relax."

"Theresa you are so cute." Ethan laugh. "I was hoping that we will sit down and plan a big church wedding."

"Ethan I don't need a big church wedding!" She cried. "I just want to be your wife and the mother of your children...please Ethan lets elope...as soon as you are release!"

"What's the rush Theresa?" He asked suspiciously. "Your divorce papers aren't even dry yet."

"Ethan I am afraid." She confessed. "I have waited so long to marry you it seems that when ever we wait, something always happens to prevent us from walking down the aisle. This time I don't want to take any chances."

"Theresa there's nothing to stop us from geting marry this time." Ethan said softly as he took her by the hand. "We have no deep dark secrets between us..." Theresa turned away. "Or do we?"

"No darling, of course not." She lied.

"Then we can wait until I'm on my feet agian to have that big church wedding we both have been dreaming about."

Eve came into the room and told Ethan he was free to go.

"Thanks Dr. Russell." Ethan said. "I can't wait to get out of here."

"I'll go and wait outside while you get dress." Theresa said.

"Okay sweetheart, I will see you in a few."

Theresa began to panic...

She had to think of something fast...

A half hour later, Ethan slowly walked out of the hospital.

"Come on, I have to get my prescription filled right away and then we will go and grabbed a bite to eat before recusing Ethan Martin from Pilar."

"Ethan you know mama doesn't mind watching the baby, no matter how late we stay out."

"I know." He said. "But I just want to spend some time alone with him and his mother."

A twinge of guilt raced through her body.

They went to the Book Cafe after Ethan had his prescription filled.

"I have to go to the restroom and it might take me a little while to get back, so when the waitress come back to our table order me a cheeseburger and a large order of fries."

"Okay." Theresa sighed.

"Theresa are you okay?" He asked. "Your mind seem to be else where."

"I'm okay." She plastered a fake smile across her face.

He placed his medication on the table. "I'll be right back." He kissed her on the cheek and left.

"What am I going to do now?" She thought anxiously, "I just got to get Ethan out of town tonight!"

She picked up his medication...

A light bulb went on in her brain...

"Take two tablets every four hours...do not take more than directed." she read.

Their waitress placed their iced tea on the table and took their order...

Theresa glanced around the room to make sure no one was watching...

She opened the bottle and dropped a few pills into his tea...

The pills quickly disappear into the liquid...

She added several spoons of sugar to mask the bitter pill taste...

"I'm sorry Ethan." She said to herself. "But I'm desperate."
