Chapter 13

Julian smiled to himself as he watched Pilar and Noah sharing an iced coffee in a secluded booth. He knew that they couldn’t see him and he wasn’t about to spoiled their moment. He was glad Pilar found someone else; suddenly he pitied any woman that pinned over Martin Fitzgerald. He would take care of him soon enough. He waited outside in the parking lot for his sister to meet him. He chose this spot because it was far away from Harmony and those that knew him. He knew father would never think of Julian in a yuppie dive like this one. He had been meeting Sheridan here regularly to smooth out any wrinkles in the plan.

“Brother?” Sheridan asked the darkness. She was glad that she knew now to change from her expensive outfits when she came to meet him. They would meet behind the dumpster first and look around to make sure they weren’t being followed and then walk to the woods behind the Tom Hilton’s. She could not believe she agreed to this but it had to be done.

“Okay, good everything is secure. Now, we have the place, the weapon and now all we need is a date. I keep trying to find when I’m free.” Julian took out his planner. He could hardly believe he was such a busy man.

“Me either. It has to be soon though. We can’t keep meeting like this or he’ll suspect something. We need a big event, something that requires a lot of people show up. I want to look pretty too, so something where I can wear a dress.”

“I could put on a party at the house. He loves those. We will invite everyone in town. I am sure they will come.”

“How? Everyone hates you. Everyone except that mystery woman that you won’t tell me much about.” She smirked and kindly punched her brother in the shoulder. She was happy that he wasn’t seriously in love with that tramp Rebecca.

“Well, she hates me know as well. We will threaten their jobs. I will threaten their jobs if they don’t come. Crane holds every career in the palm of its hand. Surely, people will want to keep on eating.”

“With a lot of people there will be a lot of suspects. What if your mystery woman gets pinned?” She had been racking her brain trying to figure out who it could be.

“She won’t. I will make sure it.” It had been a week since he last spoke to Eve but he still loved her. He played her songs on his mp3 player at night. Every time he tried to call her cell, she hung up on him. Then she promptly had his number blocked.

“Okay, love. Are we seriously doing this?” Sheridan’s eyes lit up at the thought of the devious plan. Ever since she was a teenager, she wanted this done and had planned it so tightly.

“Yes, my darling sister, it needs to be done.” With that he kissed her on the cheek and watched her walk away. Five minutes later, started his trek out of the woods. He was so glad to be close to her again.

“Father? This is your favorite and only legitimate son, Julian here.” Julian spoke with a laugh in his voice.

“What do you want?” Alistair was immediately uneasy at his son’s tone. He knew that he had been sneaking off somewhere for over a week now and it didn’t bother him until now.

“I am renewing my vows to Becks that the house. In a couple of months. Are you coming?”

“What about your Black mistress?” Alistair waited to hear the surprise from Julian that he knew this information. He loved this part.

“Oh, you mean, Eve? Yea, we’re done. I haven’t spoken to her in a week and I cut it off. She wasn’t going to leave T.C. and well you know..” He knew that if he sounded too causal about his break up with the love of his life, then his father would be on to him.

“Well she’s left her husband.” Alistair was pissed that Julian wasn’t surprised about him knowing about the affair but he knew he got his goat with this one.

“She what?!” Julian almost hit a tree. He could not believe she left T.C. and didn’t tell him.

“About a week ago, son. Wow, that wh*re must really be through with you. I thought you’d be the first she’d tell.”

“I would too. Maybe we just weren’t meant to be. Maybe she doesn’t love me.” Julian was not acting anymore. He felt his heart go heavy.

“So what time are you renewing your vows, Julian? I’ll be there with bells on.” Alistair gave a cheery laugh and hung up the phone. He could not wait for the event. There were certain things he needed to get off his chest and weddings were the perfect place for that sort of thing.

Julian’s mind was racing at the thought of Eve not being with T.C. anymore. Somehow he knew that she wouldn’t go back to him but he was pissed that she hadn’t even bothered to call and tell him. Surely, she had to know that he loved her and wanted her despite their stupid fight. He knew that he would have bide his time because things were being put into work and he couldn’t have her getting involved. In two months, everything would be perfect.
